To make a note on this referenced issue (for anyone reading this far down!) what Alanna experienced was a massive tech glitch we encountered that put us back on our heels for about two weeks. Alanna wrote into us on a Thursday afternoon, and we got back to her on a Monday afternoon. Not ideal, we are aware. We were in a bit of crisis mode (FIXED NOW, SWEARZEES!)

I'm shopping Martie every month and have quickly become obsessed with how much money I save on essentials like whole bean coffee, pasta, nicer pasta and pizza sauces, organic snacks and drinks. Having my Martie box is like a little moment of joy in our household and checking the site is like a treasure hunt.

It's not often that I encounter a site with *actual* deals that beat what I can find elsewhere on the internet, but Martie delivers. Consistently cheaper than anywhere else, and the food is perfectly fine. I like that I can shop whenever without having to commit to a subscription box delivery, and they use UPS so my order arrives fast. Hint for those reading: check back often because the inventory at Martie goes quick. If you see something you like, definitely don't wait too long or else it might sell out. I've had one or two items that I bought that weren't my favorite, but overall I've had great luck with trying new products and brands for cheap. I got this W&P ceramic tumbler for $9 on Martie... it's $40 on the W&P website right now. Crazy deal!

If grocery inflation is crushing your monthly budget, definitely give this place a shot.

Yes, I work at Martie. Yes, you'll see my name on the comments here. And yes, I'm giving Martie a 5 star review (obviously). But here's the real real. I do order every month, and yes I do pay for it (not sponsored!). And I do have a snack drawer that dreams are made of, thanks to Martie. And I just placed a big order on Instacart for a family get together, and I wish I thought ahead and ordered from Martie, because I just paid $9.99 for Kind Bars that I could have gotten at Martie for $4.99 🤦‍♀️

What’s not to like about good tasty food that’s also good for your budget (40-70% off), and the environment. They have a super fun and easy shopping experience to boot!

I love it! There's something for every dietary preference. I make sure to look at the expiration date in the listing (a lot of the time the shelf life exceeds the best buy expiration date).  If you are squeamish about the idea of buying something that might expire in month, then keep in mind that a lot of products are available that do not expire soon-- the products are on the site because they are seasonal (pumpkin spice, winter themed, Halloween themed) and these items had to be pulled from store shelves. 
Honestly, I don't really understand some of these reviews. The company is focused on reducing food waste and does this buy selling products that may be close to expiration date, may be out of season, may have changed packaging, may not have been a big seller, or the supplier just over estimated how much demand there would be. I love Martie because unlike Thrive Market or Imperfect foods, I don't have to keep a subscription. This is my new go to for shelf stable goods (snack foods, nut butter, crackers, prepackaged meals).  As someone who has lots of food allergies and prefers to buy sustainable, organic, vegan whenever possible,  I love that I can find my favorite brands on Martie at prices that are equal to or less than the sale price at my local store.  Lots of eco friendly brands to choose from and with new products added all the time, it's surprising to think anyone would struggle to find enough variety.  You can get your commercial big brands and even those obscure lesser known brands. 

This is exactly what the food sustainability market needs!

My box in the photo contains 14 items (all vegan, some keto, some organic) and I paid $55. I would have spent more than double even if they items were on sale at my local grocery store. No complaints so far.

I ordered 10 Rishi Elderberry Healer Tea on 02/04/24 the goods arrived today ontime 02/07/24 at 11am.
This was my 1st time purchasing from Martie, I received a Professional and Efficient Service and will purchase other goods from Martie.

I think the company overall has a great mission to reduce food waste while also offering usually expensive foods at reasonable prices. The selection seems to be mostly for snack foods, but I mean who doesn't snack? My first order arrived next day after it shipped because I suppose I live close to their warehouse. I am disappointed with how they shipped my order though. I bought four 12-packs of coffees, and these bulky items were shipped in the same box as the few other items I bought. One of the cans arrived severely dented on the side. The box had a lot of bubblewrap and extra paper as padding, but I think they should have shipped the coffees separately from everything else which also included a bag of chips (which thankfully was fine). Even their shipping updates say items may arrive in separate boxes, so it's not out of the question. I'd just be careful ordering from here when buying bulky items in addition to non-bulky ones. I'm not personally picky about dented cans, but I know that shipping mishaps can absolutely turn off customers.

I've been a shopper at Martie's for a while and remember when shopping with them has much, much better service.  While it's fun to find new staple items every week at a discount, you get what you pay for, the service has gone way, way down hill as they've grown and changed distribution centers.  I would say my weekly orders have been getting slower and slower.  They miss items.  They don't respond to emails and you can't call them either.  The owners are snobs. The prices are going UP.  Products arrive broken or I'm missing at least two or three items per order.  Also, check expiration dates!  I'm currently in a situation where I've been emailing them for days for products missing and I can't get an answer.  Get it together Marties!

Very disappointed because they don't treat customers the right way. On the website there was Ferrero Rocher chocolate assortment 7.93 oz., so I purchased 6 boxes together with other products. When  I received the order,the boxes of Ferrero chocolate were half a size 4.1 oz.
I have reach out to them by email, phone, text and they just ignored me. Very disappointed, and I can’t imagine in USA, our days of 2024 the customers to be treated like that! Why you make fake advertising? For increasing sales?

I have gotten many things from Martie and been happy with my experiences thus far, until I had a problem with something I bought and needed to contact customer service. The item was defective and only $15, yet they absolutely refuse to part with the $15, even in store credit. Their customer service is TERRIBLE, some of the worst I’ve seen. Accusatory, demanding, and not understanding at all. If they want to stay afloat, they NEED to understand how to provide good customer service. This isn’t it.

I discovered Martie back in January and have placed 7 orders since then (about to be 8). I was sucked in by the healthy foods (I eat gluten, dairy, and sugar free) at a fraction of the price. It’s hard finding tasty food when you have these restrictions and it can be pretty disheartening spending $12 on a chocolate bar for it to be gross. Martie has given me the opportunity to try so many things without experiencing buyers remorse if it happens not to be my favorite.
I have discovered so many yummy items that I normally don’t even see at the grocery store. I love checking the app everyday to see what’s new and also hoping for some of my favorites to come back in stock.
My last order one of my bags of chips popped open during shipping. I simply took a picture and sent them an email and got a reply back less than 24 hours with an apology and refund for the item.
I have had a wonderful experience with the service, the user friendly app, and customer service. 10/10 recommend 😊

I recently placed my first order on Martie. They have great options and release new products to the site/app every day. They have a lot of good brands- just often very specific products/flavors from those brands. So you're getting a good discount it just might not be exactly what you want. My order took about a week to come but everything came in good condition.  I would consider ordering again.

TL;DR is that SOME items are a good deal. 

I've used Martie several times for my household, primarily for snacks. It has distinct strengths and weaknesses. I've shared this information with them via their requests for reviews, but nothing has changed to make me change my opinion. 

Strengths: You literally never know what they will be selling, making for a great variety of options to choose from. May prices are lower than grocery stores (specifically looking at brands I see/get at Whole Foods). The items are shipped amazingly well from start to finish - whoever packages your order needs a raise and to advise other companies. I've ordered some very mixed-bag items, including delicate decorations or chips and 6-packs of soda at the same time. The boxes arrive in great shape, with padding throughout, AND items are packed appropriately from heaviest up to lightest. Their tracking system is accurate, transparent, easy-to-access, and honest. I cannot say enough good things about their shipping practices. 

Weaknesses: You literally never know what they will be selling - as in, they may end up selling an item they previously listed at a different price. They have a handling fee that is separate from shipping, which they don't warn you about until you're checking out. It's "only" $1.99, so they don't think you'll fight it/they think you'll just pay it without fuss. I personally despise when companies pull that. Sometimes the prices are NOT better than retail, meaning sometimes their prices are the same as what grocery stores put their sale prices at. Specifically, I grabbed a 1 lb bag of whole bean coffee I've been wanting to try that Whole Foods carries. It was $9.99 on Martie. I go into WF a week later, and with the sale/Prime discount it was $8 something. You need to truly know or look up if something is a GOOD deal. 

I was skeptical to order as some reviews were less than par, however, I am pleasantly very satisfied!! I placed an order for 18 items & received my shipment 4 days later! Everything is ordered arrived in great condition. I'm sold and Martie has a faithful regular customer now. Martie has great prices, you need to check the expiration online (the items list the exp). I can’t say enough good things about Martie! I have found grounds like Ceremonia and Clinique for amazing prices and I love their mission. Everything arrives well packaged through shipping. 

My one gripe is that it’s hard for me to make Martie my one-stop shop, and I prefer to shop from a smaller number of grocery stores than pinballing between a bunch. Martie’s mission also gives way to an inventory that’s very dynamic, so it’s hard to count on any one thing being in stock for a reasonable amount of time.

I'm in love. Martie has pretty much anything you can find in your local grocery store, barring the produce and frozen sections. They have an awesome mission coupled with a steep discount--it doesn't get much better.

You could improve your customer service and change your return polices how can people try new products when you send them crap and they say no refunds sorry you are scamming people I would give you a minus one rating if I could thank you have nice day

I’m not happy at all how is this company supposed to retain loyal customers and try new products with their no return policies we bought some items like the gem daily essentials and they taste awful (its crap) it’s a horrible product I will never buy from this company again and I will warn people not to buy any new products  from them that you are not familiar with they will simply tell you sorry no refunds that is heck of a policy for any company that wants to survive in this competitive business 

Was the first and last time ordering. Box arrived damaged. Bags and boxes inside were smashed. Was supposed to receive a 6 pk of Udon ramen (was charged $9.99) and received 1 bowl, not the 6 I paid for. 

Contacted customer service and was given a credit for $15 but had to make another purchase.  No, thanks. You had a chance to make this right the first time, but didn't. You have lost a customer. 

This will be the first of many negative reviews that I will be posting. Will also be contacting the California AGs office about their deceptive business practices and my credit card company to file a dispute.
