Crown Affair earns strong reviews for delivering lightweight, great‑smelling haircare that leaves hair softer, shinier, and less frizzy—standouts include The Oil, Leave‑In Conditioner, Dry Shampoo powder, the microfiber Hair Towel, and boar/nylon Brush No. 001. Reviews also flag weaknesses: the dry shampoo packaging can be messy, some formulas underperform on oily scalps or very thick hair, brush/comb durability and cleaning are issues, certain scents read too strong, and a few tools feel fragile or hard to maintain.

As someone who has been blessed with naturally straight no-fuss hair and didn't own a brush for years, I may not be the best person to review these products...but they made me brush and comb my hair again! I fell for the advertising and bought the comb no. 001 and brush no. 001 and have miraculously been combing my hair more often again. I love the weight of brush and the fineness of the bristles. As for the comb, perhaps I'll go for the no. 002 which has the handle next time, but I like the wide tooth comb for just after the shower.
Is it expensive? Hell yeah. But do I love every bit of the hair towel, enough that the first one (after three years) has gone bad because I use it so often, and that I had to buy a new one? Yeah. Exactly. I think this is NOT the brand you go to if you're on a budget. It's totally out of the price range for a normal day to day routine. However, the cost per use on the hair towel? I know I could probably find a dupe, and I've used others, but nothing dries my hair QUITE like Crown Affair's towel, so it gets 4 stars. Minus one for the price.
I have the hair mask and love it! Love the smell, and it doesn't aggravate my eczema like many products do. It makes my hair so soft (and it is really dry and damaged from lightening).
I love Crown Affair. The brand makes me want to treat my hair better. The towel is wonderful. I always thought I couldn't use hair oil/others had made my hair greasy but theirs is great. I used their original shampoo and conditioner and that is also great, although leaves my hair quite tangled after using. I am excited to use their new hydration/volume system. Everything feels so luxe.
I have a good range of Crown Affair’s products and I don’t think a single one has fallen flat for me. I especially love the shampoo and conditioner and am looking forward to trying the Hydrating version of the set. I switched over from Ouai specifically because the packaging was so frustrating – I could never get all of the product out of the bottle. Crown Affair’s shampoo and conditioner have way better packaging, plus they smell more unique and make my hair look better, too! If you’re in the market for higher end hair products, Crown Affair is the best I’ve used by a long shot.

I’ve tested quite a few products from this line. Love some hate others. The shampoo is great and efficient. The conditioner locks in moisture well but I prefer to use the hair mask as I see it repairs my damaged hair and leaves it extra silky. I love the scalp scrub it lathers quickly and clears ALL build up leaving you squeaky clean. The hair towel is so convenient it has an impeccable design and it works like magic when used to dry my thick hair . Their silk scrunchies are great . Nevertheless I am very dissatisfied in the hairbrush 02 and hair clips. Both products are fragile and cheaply made . They both didn’t last me a week after purchase . Hairbrush chipped by the handle and the wooden bristles broke in half . As I used one of the hair clips to hold my hair up it also split in half exposing where it had been terribly glued .
As someone with low porosity, fine, wavy hair, I’ve tried many leave in conditioners and this is one I have repurchased a few times. The conditioner is very hydrating but light and I love the smell of the product. Even the packaging is better than others I’ve used. The bottle is glass, has a good weight to it, and the pump can be sealed.
I tried the mini box of products they have at Sephora, and while the smell of the products was amazing, I only found one product that actually worked on my thick, frizzy, wavy hair (the hair masque).
Believe me, I know that Crown Affair is pricey. However, their products are absolutely worth it. The scalp scrub needs such a small amount and makes your scalp feel so incredibly clean, and the shampoo and conditioner hydrate your hair but never weigh it down. The hair towel is incredibly absorbent, and I've found helps to cut down on frizz. I really can't say enough good about the brand.
Obsessed with everything about this brand, but my absolute ultimate number 1 is their leave in conditioner. The texture, the absorption, the quality, the impact to my hair…and the SCENT 😍 10/10 have bought many times over
Transformed my hair - every product is amazing, especially the Leave-in!

I've come across this brand many times and every time I'd decide not to buy something from them, forgetting them until the next time. This time I needed some tools, and decided that I liked Crown Affair's 'The Comb No. 002' in 'Carrara' and 'The Scrunchie No.001' in sage. When I got my first order I instead had two sets of the scrunches, but in black, with no comb. I contacted them and they were extremely quick to respond, apologizing. The new package with what I ordered was shipped on the same day. The box was cute, though. I believe this was the first package I'd received with the items wrapped nicely in some sort of white tissue paper. Made it feel like I was unboxing some extra fancy items, which, they are extremely nice to use. The scrunchies are soft, stretching surprisingly far, and there's no exposed stitching along the seams. The brand label piece doesn't catch on my hair. Though, if it does cause a problem it isn't stitched on, so it can be cut off. All in all, compared to other companies selling silk and satin scrunchies, I'm more than happy to stick to Crown Affair. When it comes to silk, $15 for three thin scrunchies of good quality is pretty reasonable to me. I love the look of the 'Carrara' colored comb, reminding me of a stone without the fragility of one. It's pretty without looking cheap. White it is smooth, it's not slippery and the handle isn't uncomfortable, never slipping out of my hand in the shower. Honestly, it detangled my hair, dry, better than any of the fancy brushes I've used in the past. I also find it interesting that it's 100% made from a plant-based cellulose acetate --- a biodegradable and renewable product that they claim, on their website, is made to last. It's always fun to try something new with the hope of contributing to a better world. It's also not prone to bending or breaking, even in scorching hot showers or no matter how many times it goes tumbling off counters or across the floor. The ends of the teeth aren't sharp or irritating to my scalp, either, and for $45 I'm pleased, though that is still a little pricy. I'm a little sad that I bought a hair towel from another company rather than Crown Affair... I hope to come back and try it soon. c:

I'd, personally, love more color availabilities for the thin scrunchies, like a cream or white, or a soft baby blue or pink. I also wish that they had longer versions of their clips, and in the same Carrara pattern as the comb.
Have the dry shampoo and love the smell!

It can be a little messy to use and it takes longer to apply then most spray dry shampoos
I'm obsessed with Crown Affair's aesthetic and product design. I love their comb and the smell of The Oil. The Oil made my already-greasy type hair a bit greasier but might work really well for people with dry hair types. Love the scent too! Am dying to try their dry shampoo too.

Would love something for the scalp like a clarifying shampoo.
The dry shampoo is good. It's very fine, and you can pinpoint oily areas easily with the brush. The brush gets covered in the powder and my hands if stored inside the container. Overall, it works. I don't care for the scent, though. Smells very old.. like a grandma's perfume.

The packaging and vibes of this brand are lovely and very chic. I have tried the leave in conditioner as well as the dry shampoo. The leave in conditioner is fabulous and does a wonderful job with leaving my hair (thin and straight) shiny and frizz free. The dry shampoo did not make my scalp or hair feel particularly clean, and felt like a fuss trying to get my hair coated with adequate dry shampoo onto my head in a clean manner, instead of on my bathroom counter/on the ground.

I love this brand and trust their products fully. Not only is the packaging so gorgeous- the scents are incredibly unique. I would describe it as a fresh, clean scent with a sort of high end baby powder smell? That doesn’t do it justice. But I really love their dry shampoo. It doesn’t leave me feeling more dirty or heavy and I have fine hair. Plus it smells amazing. Also I use their comb and their hair drying towel every single day !
Love Crown Affair!!! Def pricey but effective products for me* that feel super luxurious. Favs have been the towel, the scalp scrub, and the hair mask. All 3 have stepped up my hair care game and have also made for great gifts! I love the concept of the dry shampoo (non-aeresol) and it works well. The leave-in conditioner is good - but probably not a re-purchase for me. I personally love the scent, but it is strong in some products so recommend smelling at a sephora before purchase *I have straight/wavy, long hair
I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for two years and I LOVE IT. I have had so much trouble finding the right products for my hair type (wavy, frizzy, oily near scalp, but dry on the ends) and I feel like I've FINALLY found it. My hair feels so healthy and clean! The scent of all of these products is amazing (I've even purchased the hair fragrance for non-hair wash days). I can't recommend this enough!
Ok I've been meaning to write this review for a while because I work in marketing and I've been watching this brand. I love their branding-- so good, clean, classy. But ofc branding alone does not a good product make. So here's my quick break down so far (3-6 months since buying): HIGH QUALITY TOOLS The Brush No. 003 is the first thing I got from them and wow do I love it. It's a GREAT boar bristle brush and the price is (higher than maybe a random amazon one but) competitive when you look at quality boar bristle brushes on the market i.e. Mason Pearson, Janeke etc. My friend has one too and equally obsesses over how good it is. Next up I got their hair towel and comb and again SO high quality. From the look to the materials to the utility. I would highly recommend and think they would make really beautiful gifts too. MEH FORMULAS Tbh I've only tried their leave-in conditioner and I find both the formula to be meh (not bad but not great) and the scent to be very MEH (read: pretty bad). Ofc scent is SUPER subjective but while the branding suggests almost Corpus Naturals level of scent sophistication... To me this conditioner smells like a random perfume counter at a department store. A little too strong and not like a specific scent of coconut, vanilla, or sweet creaminess (something you might like your hair to smell like) but of just generic "strong perfume". Good news is the scent wears off quickly. I've heard their other formulas are also nothing to write home but who knows. Lastly, the glass bottle this conditioner comes in? Again, the QUALITY of their materials is super duper high. I'm gonna likely keep that glass bottle and refill it with the Ouai leave-in conditioner next time (fraction of the price, love the scent, works better for my very long fine hair imo). Despite everything, I still am curious to try the finishing gel and the dry shampoo powder... Over + out
