Crown Affair earns largely positive reviews as a luxe, effective haircare brand with standout tools and treatments—especially The Towel, The Oil, the Leave-In Conditioner, Dry Shampoo powder, and boar-bristle brushes—while criticisms focus on strong fragrance for some, inconsistent results with certain formulas (e.g., mousse, dry shampoo for oily hair), and high prices. Reviews cite elevated packaging, thoughtful design, and long-lasting products, but note occasional issues like messy dry-shampoo packaging, brush cleaning, scent intensity, and a few durability concerns.

  • I love this brand and trust their products fully. Not only is the packaging so gorgeous- the scents are incredibly unique. I would describe it as a fresh, clean scent with a sort of high end baby powder smell? That doesn’t do it justice. But I really love their dry shampoo. It doesn’t leave me feeling more dirty or heavy and I have fine hair. Plus it smells amazing. Also I use their comb and their hair drying towel every single day !

  • Love Crown Affair!!! Def pricey but effective products for me* that feel super luxurious. Favs have been the towel, the scalp scrub, and the hair mask. All 3 have stepped up my hair care game and have also made for great gifts! I love the concept of the dry shampoo (non-aeresol) and it works well. The leave-in conditioner is good - but probably not a re-purchase for me. I personally love the scent, but it is strong in some products so recommend smelling at a sephora before purchase *I have straight/wavy, long hair

  • I've been using the shampoo and conditioner for two years and I LOVE IT. I have had so much trouble finding the right products for my hair type (wavy, frizzy, oily near scalp, but dry on the ends) and I feel like I've FINALLY found it. My hair feels so healthy and clean! The scent of all of these products is amazing (I've even purchased the hair fragrance for non-hair wash days). I can't recommend this enough!

  • Ok I've been meaning to write this review for a while because I work in marketing and I've been watching this brand. I love their branding-- so good, clean, classy. But ofc branding alone does not a good product make. So here's my quick break down so far (3-6 months since buying): HIGH QUALITY TOOLS The Brush No. 003 is the first thing I got from them and wow do I love it. It's a GREAT boar bristle brush and the price is (higher than maybe a random amazon one but) competitive when you look at quality boar bristle brushes on the market i.e. Mason Pearson, Janeke etc. My friend has one too and equally obsesses over how good it is. Next up I got their hair towel and comb and again SO high quality. From the look to the materials to the utility. I would highly recommend and think they would make really beautiful gifts too. MEH FORMULAS Tbh I've only tried their leave-in conditioner and I find both the formula to be meh (not bad but not great) and the scent to be very MEH (read: pretty bad). Ofc scent is SUPER subjective but while the branding suggests almost Corpus Naturals level of scent sophistication... To me this conditioner smells like a random perfume counter at a department store. A little too strong and not like a specific scent of coconut, vanilla, or sweet creaminess (something you might like your hair to smell like) but of just generic "strong perfume". Good news is the scent wears off quickly. I've heard their other formulas are also nothing to write home but who knows. Lastly, the glass bottle this conditioner comes in? Again, the QUALITY of their materials is super duper high. I'm gonna likely keep that glass bottle and refill it with the Ouai leave-in conditioner next time (fraction of the price, love the scent, works better for my very long fine hair imo). Despite everything, I still am curious to try the finishing gel and the dry shampoo powder... Over + out

  • Crown Affair's hair clips are beautiful and work well. Great product design!

  • Everything about this brand is perfect: Minimalist designs, simple products that WORK. Expensive but chic. My hair is thermally reconditioned and their shampoo and conditioner make it super soft and beautiful. The Oil is the best I have tried - leaves no greasy residue. And don’t get me started on their Signature Scent hair fragrance. I use it every single day, whether I wash my hair or not. Definitely before I go to bed and I feel super clean and pretty. My hubby loves the scent. I have yet to try to Leave In Conditioner but that is next on my list. Honestly, my hair has never felt as soft, shiny, and luxurious as it does now. LOVE it.

  • my hair is super important to me, and I'm always trying out new brands. I've experimented with everything from drugstore to super-premium products over the years and crown affair is one of the most exceptional brands out there. the formulas are all gentle but highly effective, repairing and protecting your hair. I'm impressed with the quality of hair accessories, like the comb, scrunchies, and hair towel. the new gel works unlike any other gel I've ever tried, keeping a firm hold but leaving no gross residue in my hair or a stiff, crispy feeling. crown affair has my heart (and business) forever.

  • I received their hair oil in a beauty box a few months ago and have been using it pre-and post shower when I wash my hair and I have seen a huge difference. I truly love this brand. And their products…

  • I absolutely love the aesthetic and founder of the company! I originally purchased the set that came with the hairbrush, hair towel, and hair oil. I use the hairbrush every single day and it has become my ride or dye hairbrush even though I never thought I would convert to a boar bristle brush, I think it helps that it's a dual bristle brush having both boar-bristle and nylon bristles! I also am obsessed with the hair towel and find that it dries my hair super nicely without tugging/pulling on it. The hair oil smells divine, but definitely is not my go-to or a staple, but maybe I need to retry!

  • my favorite hair brand of all time. restored hair from years of damage.

  • I have tried a variety of Crown Affair products. The best one by far is their dry shampoo. Literally the ONLY one I will use that makes my hair feel and look genuinely cleaner. The shampoo, conditioner, and leave in are pretty good but I did not react to rebuy when I finished them.

  • I need to try more products from this brand but the dry shampoo is life changing. There are so many nasty chemicals in spray dry shampoos and this one is clean. I love the brush applicator, it allows you to get the product exactly where you need it.

  • If you can afford the splurge, this is the brand to go to. I love the scalp serum and leave in for my wavy hair. The products feel so luxurious and I’m dying to try more.

  • I love the Finishing Gel. It works well, has the perfect amount of hold and smells great!

  • Feels like luxury and high quality product.

  • Everything I’ve tried from Crown Affair has been great! I have really fine, thin, color treated hair and their products really work well for it - especially The Oil. I’ve never had much luck finding hair oil that won’t weigh my hair down or make it greasy and this does the trick for smooth strands every time. I use the conditioner, scalp scrub and leave in treatment and they’re all wonderful. High end products that truly deliver for what they promise… and the smell of everything is DIVINE. Can’t wait to try the hair fragrance!

  • Crown Affair is one of those brands that I would happily pay the premium for, because they deliver on absolutely everything. The products are clean, effective, smell amazing, and look chic in my bathroom. I had been using OUAI for across all products for years and they just weren't cutting it for me anymore. ENTER: Crown Affair. I took advantage of their ritual builder and got the leave in, the towel, and silk scrunchies to start. The leave in conditioner alone has quite literally changed my hair for the better. It has brought desperately needed hydration back to my brittle, Los Angeles-dry hair that no other leave in has been able to do. So much so that I actually forgot my natural hair texture was wavy, and not stick straight and straw-like. It's managed to do that while not weighing down my thin and fine hair. I can't wait for my current shampoo and conditioner to run out so I can get the whole line.

  • Obsessed with the No 1 Brush. I spend five minutes in the morning brushing and I feel like it makes a big difference with my hair and my scalp loves it. I only wish they made a travel size version. I bought it through Sephora and although the price is a little high, I waited for the sale to commit.

  • These are the only products I use on my hair. They’re clean, gentle, and made with the highest quality ingredients, so I feel confident using them everyday. They’ve truly transformed my hair into a better, healthier version of itself!

They’re not your drugstore products, and it can feel intimidating to invest, but it is truly worth it. Taking care of your hair is just as important as your skin!
