Reviews mention

  • Luxurious, guava-forward fragrances
  • Effective curl-defining treatments
  • Soothing, nourishing scalp oil
  • Thoughtful, modern packaging
  • Heavy, residue-prone formulas
  • Insufficiently clarifying shampoos
  • Overpowering, smoky-leaning scent
  • Inconsistent performance on fine hair

Ceremonia earns largely positive reviews for delivering glossy, frizz-tamed results—especially for curly, thick, and wavy hair—through standouts like Aceite de Moska, Pequi Curl Activator, Guava Leave‑In, and Papaya Scalp Scrub. Reviews also flag drawbacks: many formulas feel heavy or leave residue on fine hair, some shampoos lack clarifying lift, and the guava-forward scents skew strong or smoky for sensitive noses.

  • I tried a variety of the products in the travel sizes including the shampoo, conditioner, wave spray, leave-in conditioner, and the rescue spray. My two favorite products were the leave-in conditioner and rescue spray because they smelled amazing and fit my hair texture nicely. I did enjoy using the other products as well, but it weighed down my hair and diminished some volume. I have relatively thick, wavy hair, and I look for products that can help better define my natural waves and keep its volume. I think these products might have been too much for what I was looking for, but I did like how my hair looked and felt when air dried after using the shampoo and conditioner. I really like all the ingredients and I love what the brand represents. I'm hoping to try some of the treatment products.

  • As a Latina, I have always struggled finding the best products for my hair type. I purchased the whole line and can't recommend it enough. The shampoo never leaves my bleached hair feeling dry. Also the smell is amazing!

    Nothing!!

  • The packaging is beautiful and the product smells good but wasn't really adapted to my hair.

  • I've always struggled with my hair. It is very very thick - like every hair dresser has said - wow I cannot believe how much hair you have and how thick it is. I am half puerto rican/half german - and 100% got the puerto rican texture It is thick, frizzy, wavy and definitely a lot to handle. I've tried many different hair products but WOW. When I say after 1 shampoo i was blown away at how much of a difference I feel and see. Also, keep in mind that I am a fitness instructor and sweat my hair out so I probably wash more than normal. This is super hydrating. Right now I am using the Deep Moisture Champú de Yucca & Witch Hazel, and Mascarilla de Babassu hair mask. 10/10 recommend. I think if you have greasy fine hair - these might be heavy for you, but are so perfect for my hair texture. Like, ok it totally makes sense to buy from a Latin American founder. My hair is thanking me. Love this product.

  • I've used the Aceite de Moska and really loved it. The branding is gorgeous and it smells so good.

I have thick and dry hair and their shampoo and conditioner sits very heavy on my hair and makes it feel greasy. I've been washing my hair twice as often since purchasing. I'm so bummed because I really love this brand, but I would not repurchase the shampoo & conditioner.

  • Incredible conditioner designed with curly, thick hair in mind. My hairdresser has noticed a change in my hair and its moisture since using this product.

  • I love the way it smells and feel like it’s really rebalanced my hair and scalp. I think they struck the perfect balance in that it feels like it doesn’t weigh my hair down or strip it raw. I have tried probably over a dozen shampoo and conditioner brands this past year and this is the first one I plan to repurchase.

  • After a traumatic salon visit in which I went in for a long bob and came out with a curly bowl cut, I’ve been desperate to grow my hair back as quickly as possible. I’ve been using Ceremonia’s scalp set, said to promote hair growth, religiously. I think it’s working, but just as importantly, it feels so nice on my head.

  • I was sent a few products by the brand and I’ve been impressed with the products and range so far. I naturally have curly hair, so I tried their “Curl Perfector” serum and found that it gave my curls a soft hold that other products have not. I was able to wear my hair naturally curly without it becoming a big ball of frizz for the first time in probably a decade. The guava scent is also bright and refreshing. The Leave-In Conditioner is a product I use every single day now after a shower and I’d consider it a new staple to my routine; it tames my natural frizz and helps smooth out my hair if I’m choosing to blow dry it that day. I could go on and on, but I appreciate the attentiveness to different hair textures and styles that Ceremonia has.

  • I absolutely love this brand, the ethos, the packaging, and the ingredients. It is about time to have beauty products catered to the Latino community. The whole idea of using ancestral knowledge of healing and heritage is perfection.

The shampoo and conditioner weighed my hair down a bit so that could be lighter, but I still love the products.
