Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

These wee a tasty and healthy snack. They just host WAY too much. I would have to LOVE these to buy them again.

Too expensive.

I like the brand's overall mission and what they stand for, but I personally just don't like the taste and mouthfeel of their pastas! Definitely understand the following and people who love their products - it's just not for me.
Love this brand! Big fan of the pasta. Definitely want to try the pizza crust soon.

Since finding out I was gluten intolerant in 2020, Banza has been a major staple in my diet! I love their cavatappi-shaped pasta, their boxed mac and cheese, and even the pizza is pretty decent. You definitely have to be careful not to overcook (7 minutes MAX for almost all pastas).

Whole Foods often has sales on Banza, so I always stock up instead of paying full price.

Love this pasta. I do genuinely feel less guilty about eating a big bowl. Imho, the difference between this and "real" pasta is negligible.
For being a gluten alternative brand - the taste of Banza’s products is great. I have had several products and I loved each and everyone I tried.
One of a very few "faux" pastas that doesn't taste like cardboard. Banza dried pastas are super-hearty and filling and have a pleasant, slightly nutty taste. The chew is maybe ever so slightly grainier than regular pasta, but it's barely noticeable. They're a really tasty, excellent sub for the real thing.

Don't look for Banza to be a perfect substitute for eggy, luscious wheat noodles. Think of it as an alternative noodle--which it is. And it's actually a really delicious one!
Great pasta! Tasty, it does taste a bit different than traditional pasta, but not very noticeable. Also, the Mac n cheese is very good. The pizza, on the other hand, not good. Maybe it was because I was expecting a more traditional pizza crust taste, but I did not like it at all.
Definitely a difference from flour based pastas, but very tasty and works well in all kinds of dishes.
Really solid pastas, it’s a little tricky at first cooking bc there is so much starch so be careful of boil overs. But stands up well to a good sauce. Wouldn’t reccomend to use with a basic sauce like a lemon or olive oil forward- but with a strong creamy sauce or tomato then it is a solid swap
Great frozen pizza, for sure my go-to in the freezer aisle. As a vegetarian I love the protein it packs.
Delicious pasta with enough protein to keep me going (without meat)! Great swap for flexitarians/etc. Looking forward to trying the rice next!
Best alternative pasta there is. It is flavorful and takes sauce well. A great option to incorporate into recipes for GF guests without having to scrap a favorite dish. I love that I can get my servings of protein while still eating pasta, and that it fills you up even if your pasta dish lacks a meat protein.
I love all their products, especially their pastas! They are perfect for college students and those looking to meal prep a lot of pasta that is filling and satisfying.
My favorite gluten free box mac and cheese! Great texture, easy to make, and solid, better than good taste. Overall, a reliable brand, especially if you're avoiding gluten. The only con is the expense, but almost everything made from alternative flours is going to be more costly.

An even wider variety of flavors or products - maybe something sweet.
I love the concept but have yet to find a product from Banza that replaces the original. The texture is always something I have to get past.

This is a nice, healthy option though pricier and requires some care to balance out the coarser feel and somewhat drier taste.

Dry taste.

I love the overall idea but have yet to find a product that I feel could truly substitute it's original.
Banza pasta has been a life saving pasta substitute for my family. Throughout the pandemic, there was A LOT of pasta consumption and subsequent weight gain =( The switch to Banza has helped us in our weight loss journey and tastes great!

I've tried Banza pasta and I feel it's overrated. For the smaller health improvements, the taste is not worth it. There's better options out there, both from a health or a gluten free perspective.
