August earns largely positive reviews for soft, comfortable, organic-cotton pads and tampons that many find effective and non‑irritating, though mixed feedback questions pad adhesion/coverage and some tampon applicators feel hard to deploy or don’t open fully. Reviews praise beautiful, discreet, eco‑minded packaging and dissolvable liners, while recurring critiques cite pads that crinkle or leak on heavier flows and wings that don’t stick reliably.

August has genuinely changed my life. Their products are amazing and eco friendly, and the community August has created for their customers/buyers is unmatched. They’ve done an incredible job of making sustainable, affordable products and a lovely community to go with them!!!

Obviously I'm biased, but I love August's liners and light tampons! I have a very light flow because I'm on birth control, so these two are the holy grail. They're so soft and comfortable!

I'm so excited for more sizes + options in the future!

Finally, a period brand that aligns with my values. August has completely changed how I approach that time of the month—from their transparency to sustainability to comfort. I appreciate knowing exactly what’s going into my body. The pads and liners are soft, effective, and thoughtfully designed (no crinkly plastic here). Even the packaging is empowering and discreet in the best way. I wish I had this option years ago. It’s nice to see a brand that respects women and the planet.

I really love the mission behind this brand! Their focus on personalized products and sustainably sourced materials is wonderful. I don't think I tried the right product for me but I definitely want to try more from August!

I LOVE AUGUST!!!!!! Their mission resonates sm with me and their product is amazing. I'm super sensitive and their pads (so far, I've been using them for 2 years now) haven't disappointed. Their packaging is also super cute and they get bonus points for their sustainability commitments. The only reason they're getting a 4/5 and not a 5/5 is because their pads sometimes are hard to remove from my underwear and kind of "break down" and leave the glue part into the fabric. It's a bit annoying as I often find myself needing to scrape off the residue (bottom of the pad). However, this hasn't been enough to prevent me from buying from them as they're #1 in the market rn for me.
Worth the price. I bought a box of the pads and tampons from Target and I enjoyed using them. I really like that they have biodegradable packaging, and they are nice organic cotton. Really nice for sensitive skin. The only thing that could be better is larger wings to hold the pad in place.
Love the brand mission and the quality of August pads. Really trying to limit exposure to harmful ingredients and this brand ticks all the boxes. They are pricy, but for the peace of mind it feels worth it.
Really great sustainable tampons and I love the brand's mission! The only tampons I buy right now.
I've used their tampons - love the packaging, so cute and the product itself is comfortable and easy to use. No complaints!
WORST PADS EVER! I tried a variety of pads and they are not nearly as absorbent as advertised- blood just sits on top really. Also, they’re hardly sticky so constantly moving around in my panties. All of this, on top of the fact that I can’t just pick them up at the store… it’s a no from me!
Love the packaging and sustainability efforts.
I love their branding and mission. I like the community-building aspect of the brand and makes the period no longer a dreading experience for me. And I actually love their products too. The pads absorb really well although they are thinner than other brands' products.

I feel like the packaging takes too much space and I think it'd be actually better to store them in a biodegradable bag instead of the box.
I've tried August for a couple months now and can confidently say I absolutely love this brand. The branding is beautiful and the packaging feels like a fun treat for a not so fun time of the month. I love having these in my bag. I've used brands like Cora in the past and one of my biggest frustrations was that they kept changing their packaging, specifically the material of the wrapper the tampon comes in. I know it's a small thing (and maybe it is more sustainable, idk) but I much prefer the plastic-y feeling wrapper to a paper wrapper. The experience is better, and it's much more quiet to open in public restrooms. I did a lot of research on August's mission, too and I really appreciate what they're doing. Above all, their products do actually work excellently. I will continue to repurchase.
I have repurchased from August several times. I love their day and night pads, they are so cottony and soft. I appreciate that the liner wrapping is dissolvable. The packaging is beautiful. For me, I find the tampons harder to insert than Tampax or Playtex. The mechanism to release the tampon from the insert is not as smooth/effective and it seems to sit lower than generic brands. I don't mind waiting a bit longer for shipping as I understand they are trying to be more sustainable with freight. However, you should probably order their products before you need it!

Tampon inserter
I love their pads because they are so soft and do not cause any irritation or sensitivity. Their products make my period a time that I enjoy a little better!

Their liners could be a bit larger
I'm biased but I obviously love the products and am using a tampon right now! I wanted to chime in and share that for us, we love interacting with our subscribers about so much more than just product, but also have a really active community space as well -- our 'inner cycle'!!

I like that they are clean! But, the adhesive on the pads are not as strong as I would like. I move a lot , duh , I’m a person. But I’ve found that they don’t stay in place especially at night. I purchased them from target and they were cheaper than honey pot which is why I got them. But, I also know the adhesive is natural but maybe too natural ??

The mission and the morals of this brand are great, but I hate the tampons. I tried them for the first time on this period and the plunger is SO HARD to push down. I was down there with two hands and had to give up and just wear a pad to the store to get a different brand.

I am a 14 year old teen who is new to getting periods. I’ve struggled with finding pads that work for me and my flow. I discovered the owners YouTube and thought I’d give it a go. I just bought two boxes of August day & night pads and love them. They are so soft, don’t chafe, and don’t leak. I usually get pads without wings because they are uncomfortable but I love the August pads that have wings. I give this brand a 10/10!

I love their products and would recommend especially for those looking to switch over to a non toxic tampon brand. I just really with they would make an ultra plus size tampon.
