Waterboy reviews and discussion

I’m an environmental scientist who works outdoors. I’m regularly exposed to high heat and humidity. Additionally, I’m also dealing with what’s suspected to be POTS. Increasing hydration and blood volume is the name of the game for my life, and as an avid Liquid IV user, I thought I wouldn’t stray from old faithful. I recently picked up some of these in an airport, and I think they’re headed to the top of my hydration roster. They’re not as sugary as the liquid iv flavors, and I can taste more salt in them (if you’re looking to replace electrolytes, you’re gonna want a higher sodium content). I usually have to mix Liquid IV in cold water so it’s not as sweet, but have found that I can take Waterboy in cold or room temp water without a problem. I really like the formula they use. It’s also cheaper than Liquid IV!

Freaking LOVE this stuff. I am a sweat-er and so I know that I just deplete myself of minerals and electrolytes like crazy, but I never liked other electrolyte mixes (some of them gave me terrible headaches, too). But Waterboy is ELITE. Every flavor tastes delicious, and my body genuinely craves it now. I have one first thing in the morning now, and then whenever I sweat a lot. I like that it's not super salty like LMNT is. Also love that they include ginger in the weekend one! Huge huge fan!!!

I got free hydration Waterboy packets for my bachelorette party and had to try them out before gifting them. They are amazing!! Usually hydration packets leave me feeling extremely bloated and not so great afterward but Waterboy does not. The blue raspberry is so, so good and great for a fruity, fun, light drink other than just plain water. 10/10. Definitely will be purchasing again!

I have tried a quite a few hydration brands on the market, and i did not really love this one. I have a very high tolerance for salt but this one i find quite salty. I did not find the flavour was very strong either so i felt like i was just drinking salty water which i could make myself at home for free. Personally i prefer Cure Hydration.

I was afraid I was falling into an Instagram trap with Waterboy's clever marketing, but it works so well! I have been a long-time user of competitor brands for hangovers, so it was big to make the switch over. Waterboy is a little pricier, but the added ginger to cut nausea is so nice. Please bring back the Jenna Palek collab flavor!! You should do more fun partnerships with fun new flavors.

I have only tried the weekend recovery. I can only give it my highest possible recommendation. All the flavors. I will try the athletic recovery soon as well. Get it.

Are all electrolyte brands the same? I tried 7 brands to find out.

I got the WATERBOY hydration electrolyte drink mix because I have trouble with my intake of water. My tap water tastes gross so I boil all the water I drink and usually make tea. I got this electrolyte mix for during heat waves and for when I am ill and get dehydrated. I love that there's vitamin C in this, that's an added bonus!

I used to cycle a lot in college, but my team and I would use Liquid IV or Nuun tablets, both of which contain a lot of sugar and artificial ingredients. I came across Waterboy, which has 0g of sugar and super clean ingredients! I am training for a marathon so I make sure to hydrate with these Waterboy Hydration + Athletic Recovery packs during and after my runs! I have not experienced any cramps or headaches due to lack of proper hydration thanks to Waterboy! The lemon lime flavor is delicious! Wish they were sold in retail.

Good alternative to the liquid IV (I think I prefer liquid IV flavors though) and it has way less sugar. I also like that the pouches are a lot smaller / lighter which make it easier for travel. Loved the watermelon flavor.

I got the mixed flavor pack and some of the flavors were nauseating. These taste a lot saltier than other electrolyte additives, but I didn't really mind that. The blue raspberry was my favorite. I haven't repurchased because they are a little pricey.

TLDR: Their product is well formulated. It used to taste really gross, but they actually listened to customer feedback and made it taste great. And it does what it's supposed to do. We love them for that!! I have become a HUGE fan of Waterboy after following their brand's journey. I bought the V1 of their product when it first launched, and while it was incredibly well formulated, it had an absolutely gnarly taste. The brand did an awesome job in taking customer feedback and thoughtfully reformulating multiple variations, and now the product is in an awesome spot. Tastes good, works well, great formula, etc. Big fan of where they've been & where they're going. Excited to continue watching them grow!

The lemon lime flavor is great (drink chilled), and I love how little sugar it has (esp. compared to other brands like LiquidIV). Excellent for bottle flu and similar predicaments, and makes an excellent mixer!

Apart from the constant SMS comms I get from this brand, big fan. I've tried every hangover hack under the sun and even though this doesn't cure them, I feel better after using. So many water supplements out there have so much sugar! Waterboy has none (at least the flavors I've tried - blue raspberry and raspberry lemonade) and even though it tastes kinda chalky and soft, it's better than the alternative hangover dry mouth.

Great branding and benefits compared to other popular electrolyte packets. The taste was overly salty, if you're into that you'll love it. Gave some to a friend and they found it undrinkable due to the salt. Good customer support team

Love Waterboy's branding and fun-forward voice in the hydration space - they're much more entertaining to follow compared to competing brands like Liquid IV. The nutrition value is there with zero sugar and their products are PACKED with electrolytes. Only downside is they sell out very regularly and you have to wait until they restock.

Way better than the other competitors that are loaded with sugar.

Veeeeery salty but worth it. I've used both weekend recovery and workout recovery and both helped me a whole lot!! The hangover one kept me from staying in bed all day hungover and the workout one helped me when I felt a bit nauseous after an intense gym session.
