Reviews mention

  • Durable fabrics, everyday wearability
  • Comfortable technical layers, heattech
  • Breathable airism performance textiles
  • Versatile, minimalist wardrobe staples
  • Inconsistent sizing, boxy fits
  • Occasional fabric pilling, fragility
  • Down jackets tear, leak feathers
  • Limited length options for tall

Uniqlo earns largely positive reviews and proves a reliable source for well-made basics that perform—HEATTECH and AIRism consistently keep wearers comfortable, and ultra light down holds up over years of travel. Reviews also flag weaknesses: inconsistent sizing, occasional quality dips (e.g., denim, cashmere, down tearing), and frustrating return policies for online orders, making in‑store try‑ons preferable.

  • Where to go for the best winter basics. Also cute clothing collaborations with artists like Keith Haring or Sofia Coppola. Affordable and reliable.

  • Big fan of their Ultra Light Down line. I have multiple pieces in different styles and colors and use them on their own, but also as liners under other coats to expand their use. One thing of note - I think they changed the cut on the vest and it doesn't fit the same as it used to, which is disappointing.

    Feedback

I can only speak to their Ultra Light Down products (GREAT) - don't have much experience with their other items.

  • Uniqlo has such great quality and customer service. I bought a jacket a few months ago and had taken the tag off, but then decided to exchange it and they happily took it back and let me pick a new one. It's also very affordable for the quality you're getting!

  • Bought the best plain t-shirts I own from Uniqlo for a good price. Definitely recommend the basics if you're looking for somewhere to start crafting a wardrobe that works for you.

If you can, I would try on their clothes in person. Some of the sizing might not be what you expect. I agree with other commenters that their size inclusivity could be better.

  • The best basics hands down. For the quality, you won't find anywhere that beats the price. Easy to shop the store, good color selection, and makes it easy to build a capsule wardrobe. Love Uniqlo!

  • I trust everysingle thing I buy from there. My therman undershirts, sweaters, pants, WINTER JACKETS, purse, hats , gloves, and really the list could go on. The quality is amazing for the price and I know that my stuff from UNIQLO will always last me regardless of the use.

  • Amazing brand - their special fabrics are also elite. Definitely a great store to buy high quality basics.

  • Big fan of what they have to offer for the price! Love getting their t-shirts and other basics. The shoulder bag is great! Only downside to that is it is reallyyyyyy hard to clean once it's dirty (at least in my experience).

  • I love Uniqlo's clothing, especially their crewneck t-shirts and their cardigans and sweaters made out of lambswool. Their items are generally very well-priced for their quality. I wish they offered more color options, but I know the company is mostly focused on selling basics and not statement pieces.

  • The Denver store has a huge selection of clothing that are all pretty cute and great layering/basic pieces that you can easily dress up or down. I have several pieces that have stood up to time

  • Very reasonably priced for closet basics! I love the pieces that I have and they have become everyday staples.

  • I really like the t-shirts for sports and workout outfits, they're comfortable and loose but well-fitting

  • What sets Uniqlo apart is their dedication to technological innovation in fashion. From their heat-retaining HEATTECH to their moisture-wicking AIRism, they've introduced fabrics that cater to various climates and lifestyles. This emphasis on functionality without compromising on style adds a layer of practicality to their clothing.

  • Absolute favorite brand for basics! The mini short-sleeve tshirt has been my go to top for work, church, markets, etc. Every clothing item I’ve purchased from Uniqlo has always been such great quality and reasonably priced.

  • Nice classic styles, but I don’t like that you have to pay for shipping and returns are a hassle.

  • Consistent quality and pricing, a steady workhorse that covers all the clothing essentials. AIRism and Dry-ex are my favorites as I typically run hot!

Recently learned that their men's polos are "seasonal" - bizarre! Online availability is also hit-or-miss.

  • I can't rage enough about Uniqlo!! I absolutely love their clothes and the quality is amazing. Some things can be a little expensive, but they will last.

  • I buy this for gifts for my brother and my dads They are obsessed

  • I have some Uniqlo clothes. It has become a place to get your staples, your basics. And I think once we get older or wiser (and have a bit more money in our bank account), we gradually stay away from fast fast fashion. You know what I mean. I'm not going to lie, Uniqlo is also fast fashion. But their clothes are timeless, and sturdy. You can find a good-fitting sweater, and then buy it in more colors.

Basics are not expensive at Uniqlo, but there are some items that are a bit pricier (like mohair or cashmere jumpers), but they are worth the investment. You do need to care for them and not over wear them as they won't last years. I do think the choices they have are great, and the colors are great. You still need to keep in mind that Uniqlo is still a fast fashion brand.
