Reviews mention

  • Soft, pillowy cookie texture
  • Clean, gluten-free vegan ingredients
  • Rich, brownie-like chocolate flavor
  • Well-balanced, perfectly salted bite
  • Overly sweet sugar profile
  • Inconsistent, raw-leaning texture
  • Unappealing, pancake-like appearance
  • Polarizing adaptogenic mushroom flavor

toto earns largely positive reviews for soft, indulgent cookies that taste like classic treats while using clean, gluten-free, vegan ingredients; many say the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Chip deliver rich, brownie-like satisfaction and perfect salting. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some find flavors overly sweet or off (birthday cake, adaptogenic notes, reishi), textures veering raw or pancake-like in appearance, and a cooling aftertaste, with a desire for higher protein.

  • I personally hope I never have to eat a cookie like this again. I love the concept of a high protein cookie, but am very turned off by the adaptogenic features. Can we not try to do everything as a brand and just choose one cool distinctive? I'd buy into a healthier, higher protein cookie right from the get go. The taste and texture was not great, unlike other similarly packaged cookies I've had. I couldn't get over the fact that there were reishi mushrooms in it. I ate about half and couldn't finish the rest.

  • The trick to making the cookies extra delicious is to pop them in the air fryer for a minute to get the chocolate chips cookies and to add a very slight crunch while the center is still gooey. I love the clean ingredients and I love that I can split a big cookie with my partner at night and still feel like I'm indulging without junk ingredients or too much sugar. Looking forward to trying other flavors, but the flavors are actually there — nothing fake, tastes like if you tried to make a cookie recipe a little healthier at home with wholesome ingredients but still focused on making it tasty.

  • I would seriously rate the product zero stars, but zero stars wasn’t an option👎 False advertising…the “actual” cookie looks nothing like the packaging. It looks like a raw, unappetizing pancake. I literally had to close my eyes in order to taste the cookie and I was left as equally unimpressed as the presentation. Don’t buy it! I bought two and feel duped 😒

  • Perfect size and texture! The ingredients are very close to what I would use if I baked them myself. I pick these up at Sprouts when I have a craving and nobody to bake for. It’s an indulgence that doesn’t leave you with guilt or digestive upset feeling. These are perfectly portioned, too.

  • When I'm really craving a cookie, I'll drive to Sprouts to get one of these. I like that it's clean ingredients and no seed oils, makes me feel good choosing it. I really don't care about the calories, macros, or protein content in this, I'm craving a cookie so I expect a cookie, and this hits the spot. It's just nice to know that there's a good cookie option out there for me. The sea salt chocolate chip one is so good, so is the double chocolate chip (but it's been discontinued at Sprouts). But, beware of the birthday cake flavor, that one was terrible imo.

  • Toto's Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie caught my eye with its emphasis on clean ingredients—they’re gluten-free, vegan, and free of seed oils. Wahoo! And, okay, I also love their vibrant, playful branding. As an almond butter lover, I absolutely adored that almond butter was the first ingredient. It’s a welcome break from the usual refined flours, adding a rich, nutty flavor and providing a dose of healthy fats. The cookie itself had a wonderful, soft texture and was generously packed with chocolate chips, with just the right sprinkle of sea salt. However, if there’s a downside, it’s that I personally found it a tad too sugary—though I’m probably in the minority on that. My 17-year-old son polished off the rest of my cookie and declared he’d be thrilled to take the remainder of the box. A bit disappointing, though, that a serving size is only half a cookie. If I were really hooked, I’d easily devour a whole one, which would pack in 20 grams of sugar—yikes! It’s mostly coconut sugar, which is a fantastic choice (the chips also use cane sugar), but 20 grams still feels like quite a bit for one sitting. All in all, this cookie is a great choice for anyone craving a sweet indulgence with antioxidants, immune-boosting perks, and that irresistible soft texture, all balanced by the perfect sprinkle of sea salt. Just be mindful of the serving size and enjoy it occasionally! I’ll definitely keep an eye on this brand, especially considering the inspiring story of its owner’s healing journey from Crohn’s disease.

  • Who doesn't love cookies? I am someone that needs a treat and chocolate in some form everyday. I like to bake my own cookies and baked treats more so that buy. However, if something new comes on the market that I want to try, I sometimes do. I have had one flavor of these cookies, the sea salt chocolate chip. It is big, so tasty and chewy. I would love to see more organic ingredients used in these cookies for sure.

  • I was drawn to the pretty pink packaging on the choclate chip cookie flavor. These were soooo good yall. I was shocked , I was flabbergasted, I was floored. I would compare toto's to the next best single-packaged vegan cookie ( L&L). When it comes to taste, texture, freshness, and fiber ; toto blows the competition out of the water. The cookie was perfectly salted! I will try to get the other flavors and report back 🫡 five stars hands down

  • I wasn't expecting much when I tried both the chocolate chip and birthday cake flavors, but boy was I mistaken. Today is the day a prepackaged cookie completely blew me away. I couldn't believe how soft these cookies were! Normally, whenever I read "soft-baked" on a prepackaged cookie, it's usually soft with a rather chalky taste. However, I didn't get that from Toto's at all. These were almost fall-apart soft, which is precisely my preferred texture. The flavor was great, too. It's a healthy cookie that doesn't necessarily taste healthy. If for whatever reason I can't bake cookies myself and need store-bought ones, these are the ones for me.

I would like to see Toto come out with an actual protein cookie, rather than a cookie that has slightly more than average protein. I would definitely be a repeat buyer in that case. Also, there was a cooling sensation after eating these. I don't mind it, nor do I know what it's from, but it's there.

  • I really like this product--especially given how many things it doesn't have. Very impressed by it!!

  • I love Toto cookies! They’re a great on the go snack, or an easy treat to tide me over when meetings interfere with lunch.

  • Shocked with how much protein is in these cookies! Big fan :)

  • I saw a fitness influencer recommend these, and normally I don’t believe many influencer ads but I’m glad I listened this time!! As a kid, I used to get a double chocolate chip cookie from schlotskys and it tasted like a brownie. I’ve never been able to find a cookie that reminds me of that until toto!! I’m lactose intolerant, and sensitive to gluten, so the fact that these cookies are soft, taste like a brownie, and remind me of the dairy and gluten filled cookies I used to eat as a kid, is so cool!! I need to try the other flavors now.

  • The double chocolate chip cookies are delicious and taste more like brownies than cookies! They are made with natural good-for-you ingredients and the backstory on how they came to be is inspirational.

  • First time trying these cookies. Walked into a vitamin shoppe and noticed them. Bought the salty chocolate chip and birthday cake. I am a baker myself, so texture is important as so is the taste. I like to feel and smell the cookies, these cookies felt moist and edible. However, an awkward scent of fish and the cookies seem to be almost raw in texture. The chocolate is normal, nothing out of this world. The bottom of the cookies also looked rather odd in color, almost moldy.

Overall, considering it was plant based it was ok. I’d say quest cookies are still the winner.
