Reviews mention

  • Elegant packaging presentation
  • Smooth, creamy dark chocolate
  • Distinct, complex flavor profiles
  • Clean, minimal ingredients
  • Oversized mango topping pieces
  • Occasionally heavy-handed salt
  • Polarizing spicy flavor notes
  • Inconsistent pecan topping quantity

Spring & Mulberry earns strong reviews for exquisite, date‑sweetened dark chocolate that tastes smooth, complex, and not overly sweet, with standout flavors like Mango, Urfa Chili, Black Lime, Earl Grey, Lavender, and Mixed Berry. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some toppings (large dried mango, heavy salt) hinder breakability and balance, certain flavors polarize, and past supply hiccups/recall and inconsistent nut coverage appear, making it better for gifting than everyday eating.

  • I bought a bunch of the bars for my mom for Mother's day and included flavors she didn't specify she wanted. Coffee was one I took for myself and am enjoying it now, along with my boyfriend. I love coffee flavors in anything vegan. The packaging and minimal ing. is a no-brainer. The coffee is not overwhelming, just enough to taste along with the chocolate.

  • I purchased a selection of chocolate including mango chilli, pecan, and sea salt. They arrived yesterday and I’ve tried the mango and chilli - delicious; dark without bitterness, and the dates add a lovely rich sweetness. They are, however, eye-wateringly expensive, so not sure how likely I am to repurchase, though perhaps as a special occasion. I’ll report back on other flavors soon. UPDATE. Fig and fennel is marvelous, sea salt a bit disappointing. I also spotted that each bar is 60g (2.1 oz) compared to the usual 80g (2.8 oz) of other brands such as equal exchange. Verdict: lovely product, but not worth the price.

  • It’s not bad tbh but it’s not my favorite. It’s hard to judge because of the flavor imo. Not a fan of the flavor to say the least though. I really wish they had just plain old chocolate (at Whole Foods). I do appreciate the clean ingredients though and their mission. Overpriced.

  • Obsessed. I was drawn to the packaging but the product lives up to and even exceeds my expectations. I didn’t want to love these as much as I did because now I can never walk past a display without getting the lavender and rose flavor. The mango, Urfa chili, and black lime one is interesting too- sweet and sour with some heat.

  • I grabbed the mango, chili and lime bar from Big Night in Greenpoint. The bar was really excellent. A great balance of flavors and great quality. I would be excited to try another flavor.

I must not have looked at the price when I got it but it is about 2x as much as I'd want to pay for chocolate. I would love the bar to be more affordable. No complaints otherwise though.

  • Good quality chocolate! I wouldn't know they were sweetened with dates if I wasn't told. I honestly love their dark chocolate the most, but I'm also a fan of their bergamot, lavender rose, and coffee. I think some flavors are better than others—I don't like mint or blood orange, but that's a personal preference.

  • I had never heard of this brand before and was pleasantly surprised to discover it on Thingtesting. I love the mission and that the founders focus on whole ingredients. It has 72% cocoa (yum) and zero grams of added sugar. Personally, I was not too fond of the flavor because it was a bit spicy and I prefer my chocolate sweet. But I would love to try another flavor like Lavender, Bee Pollen, Rose Petal or Medjool Date, Pecan, Himalayan Salt. I also think $15 for a 3.5oz chocolate bar is a bit too expensive for me, so not sure if this would be a staple in my pantry.

  • Really liked the chocolate, love that it's sweetened with dates instead of sugar. Looks quite artisanal but well produced. Had the Mango-Urfa Chili one. Know that it's medium spicy (not negligible). Would like to try their other flavors.

    Quite expensive.

  • Such an elevated chocolate experience! Love the flavor combinations punctuated by a background of jammy dates. Mixed berry is my favorite.

  • I'm super excited to try a completely healthy chocolate bar and pay the pricey price. What I ordered what the embellished collection. I love mangos and chilies as well as lavender and rose. But I was quite surprised that my favorite was the mulberry fennel. The unique blend and flavor profile was quite the experience. I only have one issue. It's with the pecan date bar. The advertisement on Spring and Mulberry's site show complete pecan halves, at least 5. My pecan date bar had 3 quarters of a whole pecan 😒 not even one whole pecan if you add them up. So for the price they are charging, they need to deliver the goods. They put plenty of dates on it, buy not nearly enough pecans. Attached is the photo from Spring and Mulberry's website and then there is my bar. I found no issue with the other bars. They were loaded with product.

  • Gah! I’m particular about my chocolate and this does not disappoint. I don’t like it TOO sweet. The chocolate and other flavors really come through—which I’m guessing is the point when you sweeten with dates and not sugar. I bought two Five-pack bundles and have found that they are nice to have around for an easy go-to gift because they packaging is so beautiful and they already feel like a present. They saved me in a pinch when I realized I needed multiple gifts for my kid’s teacher appreciation day. 😜

Can’t wait to try new flavors!! Can I bake with the plain one?

  • So impressed by the quality of the chocolate (taste and appearance). I tried all five flavors and love them all. I keep going back to the date and pecan bar when I want a hint of salty+sweet and the lavender, rose petal, bee pollen when I want something subtle and absolutely delish! The packaging is very well done, which makes the product excellent for gift giving.

  • Absolutely beautiful and tasty with a healthful approach. I love the flavor combos, presentation, and branding. Lavender is my favorite.

I’d love a subscription model to try new flavors. Maybe something earl grey?

  • Delicious dark chocolate. Complex and satisfying. Also really beautiful and special. My favorite is the Mixed Berry!

The flavor with mango and chili is too spicy for me, personally. But otherwise delicious!

  • Most amazingly beautiful chocolate bar! It’s by far the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly sweet!

  • I tried the mango, urfa chili, black lime chocolate bar and I really enjoyed it. Not only was the packaging very aesthetically pleasing, the the bar itself was pretty to look at with the dried fruit on the back and such. I love the natural ingredient list as well. Though it is priced a bit high to make it a routine purchase, I think they would be perfect for special occasion gifting. Will be trying the other flavors in the future!

  • Not bad at all, in fact pleasantly surprised by the flavor and smooth taste.

  • Chocolate bar was good but not my favorite, maybe better suited for someone who likes more bitter chocolate. The flavors were unique and interesting. Would be a great luxurious gift for someone who enjoys fun and interesting flavors!

not my personal taste, but a fun and unique chocolate bar!

  • So beautiful and so delicious.

Honestly, it was even better than I thought it'd be. The texture, the crunch, the way it melts in your mouth, and the combo of the chewy mango on top *chefs kiss*

  • Had the delicious Mango, Urfa Chili, Black Lime. It was creamy, rich, indulgent, decadent, and luxurious. I actually really like the texture of the dried fruit on top, it compliments the chocolate really well. I got to try this brand through Thingdrop, and I'm glad I did! I think it would make a great gift.
