SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

OBSESSED! I love these and feel way less guilty eating them. Flavors are all awesome. Same texture as “real” candy. They’re just overpriced.
They're good for what they are. I find the taste and texture to be a bit inconsistent; sometimes seems a bit stale.

The taste and texture is good for being a low sugar sweet treat! love taking these to the movies instead of paying $20 for a bag of sour patch.
I love the concept but some items are better than others. I enjoy the gummy worms the most.
I've tried the Smart Fish and the Peach Rings and both were great. I liked the peach rings the best -just personal flavor preference - and would definitely buy them again. I honestly love that I can get them at my local corner store. I appreciate not having to go to a speciality or healthier minded store to get my not-so-sugary fix.
The peach rings are one of the best things that have ever happened to my taste buds.
These used to be really good and a great alternative to regular candy, but I think they’ve changed their recipe. It isn’t as good, but if you’re looking for gummies that aren’t as bad for you as gummies… you’ll taste the difference, but it’ll likely hit the spot.
Thought these were a healthy alternative to my favorite candy but the sugar content is still super high.
Good for how much better they are for you than normal candy. Taste a bit off, but satisfies that sweet tooth or gummy craving you may have.
Big fan of the gummy worms and swedish fish! Love the fact that it contains less sugar for my daughter. It is hard to monitor her sugar intake in todays world. She cannot tell the difference. We don’t even eat the standard gummy candy outside of this.
Not tasty at all. The texture and taste are way off. The formula used to be better but they changed it and it’s really disappointing. While I like the mission of lower calorie snacks they need to taste good, would rather save all the calories and forgo these all together at this point.
I’m glad people who need a low sugar option have this, but man they do not taste good. Also I got a pretty bad headache after eating, so I’m not going to be trying them again.
Love them but the price point is just too high

Addicted to these sweets! Really good selection and flavours.
Not a bad alternative for those with a sweet tooth trying to cut. They do not compare to your normal candy, but they definitely hit the spot when you are trying to be macro conscious and craving an unhealthy alternative. The texture and consistency are on point, and they don’t have adverse reactions a lot of sugar free sweets do.

Tasty!! I'd say these candies are actually able to quench my rabid sugar cravings, especially the "sweet fish" . My only critique is how sticky these are, I felt like every bite was a test for my tooth fillings, after eating a pack my jaw was also sore. Perhaps that's by design so I don't eat too many?
OK so, my opinion may be controversial and strange since I keep buying their products despite my opinion! I have a sweet tooth and love that a similar product exists. There are often interesting promotions in the grocery store that lead me to buy some again, so I tried a few flavors. I find that there is a really different and fascinating variety of texture from one flavor to another, and I am not mentioning this in a positive way! Most flavors are nearly impossible to eat while having fun. Some are super dense (made too old?) while others are chewy. But the second category is frankly rare. The taste is good, sure, but the experience is often horrible.

If you want to indulge one flavour, I would go for the peach ones! Don't buy the fish!
Hit or miss for me - I really liked the taste of the gummy bears and worms. I wish the bags contained more candy - so easy to eat in one sitting. However, the peach rings were almost inedible. I’d say proceed with caution if you have gut issues. If you’re like me and would eat the whole bag in a day, I had stomach issues (likely intolerant to some of the ingredients)

Great concept...taste is just such a miss for me. I'm a big candy gal, and I'd rather just eat 100g of sugar than have to spend 10 minutes chewing to get one of these treats down.
Unpopular opinion but I thought these were just fine. Flavour is good but not great, and I really didn’t love the texture. I’ve tried a couple different varieties and would say the blue fish are the best. I just think that the packages come with so little candies inside, it barely satisfies your sweet tooth, and they are SO expensive for what you get. I’d truly rather allow myself the treat of having a small serving of real candies for the cost and taste satisfaction. Love the idea just wish the packages had more value for the cost.
