quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

I had such high hopes for Quip because they're reasonably priced, and the subscription with refills sounds convenient in theory. However, I stuck with them for a total of 3 subscriptions, and each time they forgot something (first time, they didn't include toothpaste, then they forgot the floss, etc.). They always shipped out what they forgot, but that usually took 2-3 more weeks to arrive. I also feel like their product just isn't good. The toothbrush doesn't deep clean, and they've even said that the vibration isn't really to help clean but rather to let you know that it's on. But I find that misleading. Generally, I get a deeper clean from cheaper Oral B's at the drugstore. And the toothpaste that comes with the subscription dries super easily and feels like putty.

I wish they'd invest in making better products, starting with just a totally better toothbrush!

Best looking dental brand. I like it a lot and use it every day.

I feel like they stop innovating.

Sleek design, less bulky than OralB or Sonicare. But, definitely not as effective. I used my quip for a few months and went back to my old OralB brush.

I really like trying new things then the same old tired tooth brushes. I liked how it felt in my hand the bristles were hard. Did a great job getting my teeth really clean

I don't see where anything needs to be changed

I have been using electric toothbrushes for at least 20 years. The bristles on these Quip toothbrushes are much too soft. Plaque does not get removed from teeth. After I started using Quip and I had my 6-month cleaning appointment with dentist, he said that my teeth were in the worst state that he has ever seen, and that not only did I have plaque build up, I had tartar buildup! This never happened before, as long as I was using any other electric toothbrush.

The vibrations need to be stronger, more forceful, like all the other electric toothbrushes. Otherwise it will not do what it is meant to do: clean teeth!

It was fine but didn't seem to be made any better than non reaccuring charge e toothbrushes.

I didn't like this brush. I bought this brush as an alternative to constantly purchasing plastic brushes every couple months. Although I like that it's a low waste option, I did not like how it cleans. The vibrations are not enough to clean your teeth well, and I didn't like the silicone bristles. It made me miss the feeling of clean that came with a normal toothbrush. I had high hopes but I didn't like it.

Definitely not recommended by dentists. I was lured in by the sleek design and switched from my Sonicare to try out Quip. My next dentist appointment did not go well and they asked what toothbrush I was using. When I said I switched to Quip, they told me to switch back to Sonicare and that Quip was not up to the same standard as other toothbrushes.

It was fun to order and the colors are great. But the toothbrush doesn't work as well as the Oral-B or Sonicare. I also didn't like using a battery rather than plugging it in. We also tried the watermelon toothpaste for my child and it was not a good taste.

The performance of the toothbrush - it's a great idea but it just doesn't work as well as the others.

Bought three kid toothbrushes for my kids and was very disappointed when I saw what Quip really ships. These brushes marketed as "electric" are not really electric in any way. They are the very basic toothbrushes with DC motor making them pulsate basically like https://www.target.com/p/pulsating-powered-toothbrush-2pk-up-38-up-8482/-/A-16271063. They are not helping kids brush their teeth better and super overpriced. When I wrote them asking to return the product Quip team pushed me two BS marketing emails, telling their brushes are the best ever brushes cause they "have earned the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance".

Please don't market these as electric. It's super misleading.

Didn't feel like my teeth were as clean as they are with a spinning brush. However, I did like the feel in my hand and the subscription service.

Though convenient for travel with its sleek design, Quip does not do a great job actually cleaning your teeth and the brush heads get dirty very easily. There's also no way to replace brush heads in store ahead of your scheduled shipment. I loved the branding and shopping experience online so 2/5 for a great idea and beautiful design but functionality falls short here.

Wish it was more effective and useful!

very easy to use and incorporate into daily habit

It looks way better than other products in this space with its minimalist, unobtrusive design. The Packaging it comes with doubles as a sort of travel case and mirror mount – very smart! It also features a built-in two-minute timer.
Feedback
The sonic vibrations are too weak, so much so that it feels like the teeth are less clean compared to other products. This alone made me switch to another product (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart). I heard Quip added a smart brush to their range, so maybe I'll try it again someday.
