  • I don't understand the hype. Spent a ridiculous amount of money on these and they taste like.... a strawberry? Nothing special. Save your money.

  • I love berries and had been wanting to try the omakase berry for ages but was sadly disappointed. It tasted like one of the better, riper strawberries you would get in a pack of Driscoll’s from the supermarket. Certainly more flavorful and more consistent than your average supermarket strawberry, but definitely not a head above the rest. I’ve had much better strawberries from farm stands and farmers markets in the summer.

  • An amazing berry and fun packaging reminiscent of Japan, but hard to get when not in the NYC area. Lost a star for convenience but if I see them and can bring some home unscathed, I will always grab a package.

I hope they find a way to expand to more areas. I know they're careful about delivery to keep up freshness but hopefully they figure out a way. I'd say eat within a couple days to get prime freshness and taste.

  • Definitely overpriced, but it’s an experience eating an Oishii strawberry. Worth trying at least once. They’re definitely delicious. Quite impressive how each package has literal perfect strawberries in it. Probably wouldn’t order more than once, but fun to try.

  • Oishii berries are the best! Perfect scent, texture, and flavor, compared to your everyday strawberries in the store. Love the Japanese ritual of fruit being a celebratory gift that should be appreciated and savored, and they've nailed that.

  • These are tasty berries. But I don't think the cost is justified. If you look at specialty japanese grocery stores you'll find similar ones in season that are more affordable and similar in taste.

  • i was born and raised in japan, so trust me when i tell you that these strawberries are the real deal. yes, they are pricey, but that's because these strawberries are meant to be cherished, like jewels. they aren't meant to be mindlessly thrown into your overnight oats (you can, and it will probably be the best overnight oats you've ever had). the omakase berry gives me a taste of home that cannot be found elsewhere.

more transparency around the growing process -- it's really cool what the company is doing, why not showcase it?

  • These berries are something special! So worth it and the best host gift. I love watching people's first bite reactions because it's like a berry you've never tried before. Highly recommend.
