Muji earns strong reviews as a minimalist one‑stop shop that works well for stationery, storage, and home basics—its 0.36–0.5 gel pens, notebooks, diffusers, and modular organizers draw consistent praise for smooth performance, thoughtful design, and longevity. Reviews also flag drawbacks: clothing can fit boxy or feel mid‑quality, some items (especially certain home goods) feel overpriced, pens may smudge or skip, and online selection/UX lags, making in‑store experiences distinctly better.

The best selection of pens and stationary in the world! My husband loves their lightweight down jacket, it’s his go to.
I am a big MUJI fan. My wardrobe and bathroom are full of their plastic and fabric storage boxes to help oranise drawers. I am mostly purchasing homeware and cannot speak to the quality of their clothing or accessories ranges but am a very happy customer otherwise. One point deduction for the fact that I cannot speak to their full range of products and also for the fact that some products run low in stock regularly.
Muji stores are a bit of a letdown for me because there aren't enough color varieties. I appreciate their minimalist vibe, but I wish there were more options to add some personality to my space. It feels like I'm limited in expressing my style when shopping there. Pens are amazing tho.
I love the clean and simple aesthetic. I'll always get my writing utensils from here, even though they tend to run out of ink rather often. Surprisingly, their aroma diffusers (and Cedarwood oil) are must-purchases.

Will buy for gifts .
Love Muji's aesthetics and these their containers make me want to be a more organised person - the only downside is that they are a little pricey.
I actually have a pen from them, and I absolutely love how they write because it looks clean and prefesional, plus i love the design of it.
Okay so all I can really say for Muji is that I have their ballpoint pens...but I am obsessed. I am very picky about pens and theirs are very affordable and the ink comes out very well. I'm sad because they don't have a store where I live, so I had to stock up when I visited Boston this summer! (there is a store there on Newbury street)
Muji has a wide variety of products that I use for the house and work. I love the mix of clean aesthetics and a variety of products. In particular, I often rebuy their pens in multiple colors and some accessories for the house, for storage, and the kitchen.
Muji is so great! I have plastic tubs I got years ago to organize my make up and I am still using them. They have been my favorite item and have moved with me like 7 times now. I will never get rid of them! 100% recommend.
I read a review that said Muji feels like an elevated Ikea and - well, it kind of is. But is that a bad thing? We love Ikea, and we love Muji. There are very strong, elevated basics at Muji that feel more reliable and with a more aesthetic appeal than most of Ikea's offerings - and who can beat that? Muji might not be luxurious, but there is something for everybody, whether you know it or not. Muji does not cater to western markets so things like photo and paper sizing, measurements of their kitchen products, etc. will all be in the metric system.
Have the plastic organizers. Really sturdy thick plastic. Price is great. Useful and has made my storage needs so much easier. I love they are crystal clear also.
I visited the Muji in Boston recently and bought a great jacket for a super reasonable price. They have a ton of different things - it’s almost like IKEA but with clothes, too! I tried on several different clothing items and not all fit me super well, but i felt like they were all pretty well made and very cute. I would definitely purchase a bunch of household items from Muji if I lived closer to one, too!
The Muji weekly/monthly planner is my favorite! It’s simple and has a blank page each week for notes, to-do lists, etc. The paper isn’t as thick as I wish it was but it’s great for the price and someone who needs a minimalist planner.
Muji is stylish and utilitarian. I visited the store in Portland a few years ago and it was like Disney land for me! From stationary and desk supplies to a nice linen shirt, they had something for everyone, and many things for me. I especially like their pencils? The mechanical ones.

Muji is my safe space. Where everything is organized, it's never loud and smells like lavender. I'm a big fan of the compact cleaning tools. Perfect for itsy bitsy NYC apartments
I LOVE Muji products! They're beautifully designed and practical. I own a few pens and notebooks from Muji and love them all.

I don't think there's a room in our house that doesn't host some kind of Muji item, be it an organizer or a wayward pen. When it comes to storage and organization (both for permanent and travel), I'm hard pressed to go anywhere else. The design system just clicks which is helpful when they're being used seasonally and circulated, so ease of access is helpful. I believe where people might be thrown is with the pricing, as it is a little steeper than kitting out your home with reliable IKEA goods. It's incredibly subjective though, I love how understated Muji homewares are and I don't mind shelling out for pragmatic pieces that stand the test of time and wear. They also produce my favourite wooden spoon/spatula.

Muji has such a wide range of affordable products, and their .38 black pens are a staple in my household. Their clothing leaves a little to be desired (not the best quality IMO) but the stationary, travel containers, and home goods more than make up for that.
