Dyson impresses in reviews for delivering powerful, thoughtfully engineered vacuums and hair tools that reduce frizz, speed styling, and handle pet hair and fine dust with ease, yet the brand divides on longevity and practicality. While cordless models like V12/V15 and hair tools such as Airwrap and Airstrait win praise for performance, convenience, and design, critiques cite short battery life on “max,” heavy or fragile components, tricky emptying, inconsistent curls, and difficult repairs or parts sourcing.

The hair drying system makes a huge difference in my hair style.
I knoooow Dyson products are insanely priced, but they are SO worth it!!! I have had my vacuum for 2 years and use it daily. I have had no problems and I have a 130lb dog that sheds like no other and this vacuum handles it effortlessly.
I love to vacuum. There are few sounds as satisfying as the click clack sound of debris you could not even see getting sucked up by the vacuum. I love the futuristic look of these vacuums. I love the thoughtful details like the color coded parts: moveable parts one color, levers and buttons another, parts you can clean or replace another. It seems so well-thought out. And yet....there are some major annoyances. 1. Expensive. This would not be such a big deal if they were more durable. They are not. 2. Not durable. The shell plastic is brittle. Four (4!) prior Dyson I have owned have succumb to the same fate: Broken body plastic. 3. Not actually that well-thought out. For the purpose of creating suction: 7/10. For daily uses as a tool for cleaning your home 4/10. The stick vacuum has no position of stable equilibrium other than in its wall-mounted charging bracket. Do not put it down, rest it, or try to lean it anywhere. It will topple, roll, slide, tip, fall and... break. "Oh I'm really careful, especially with an $800 device I uses every day while trying to clean." No I'm not. And I shouldn't have to be *that* careful. 3. The Detect is incredible. (major annoyance #3) I think this used to be a standard thing on vacuums back in the day. At some point it went away. And now it is back and has a name other than "vacuum light." It really works, but if you are at all OCD, save yourself the psychological frustration of being able to see your dirt better than ever and only ever being able to vacuum up 80% of it. What you do not know, what you cannot see, in this case, will not hurt you. After you have been over the same patch of floor twenty times before you grabbed a wet rag you will wonder what the vacuum is even for. 4. Which is likely how we ended up with the V15 Submarine Absolute with Detect (i.e. with light). So the dust is gone, but I can still see the beads and streaks of water. So now I have to grab a dry cloth and what am I even doing on my hands and knees again. I just spent $1450 (in aggregate) and I still need to wipe the floors. ? Something is wrong with this picture. And I am fully on board with the idea that I am the problem. But I can't be the only mildly OCD person who wants to buy an expensive vacuum to address it. That seems like the Dyson target market right there. And for us.... for me.. they come up short. I gifted my two recent Dyson purchases to friends who seemed like they would not obsess about their defects as much as I seemed to. I still have four other vacuums (this sounds just as crazy to me as it does to you): Miele Boost CX1 (love it), Festool CTC SYS (super love), Nilfisk GD5 (get out of my way, I am vacuuming all day), Fein Turbo 1 (meh, now I have a bag of dirt). Two of these are shop vacs so fine, normal. The perfect stick vacuum does not exist. Maybe it will be a Dyson when it does, for now, I am putting my mental health in the hands of other vacuums. Oh PS I have also owned air purifier (skip it) humidifier (very good, plants love) hair dryer (gentle, loud) and hand dryer (in a restaurant, fine, also loud.) 6/10 is my bottom line, an average.
The best vacuum you can buy at a retail store. Once you use a Dyson, everything else seems like a waste of money. We regularly maintain ours by cleaning the filters as directed and ours is 5+ years old and works as well as it did when we first bought it.

Received a Dyson DC33 as a wedding present. I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary and purchased a replacement filter and brush for cheap (partially b/c I wanted to, I'm sure I could have cleaned and cut stuff off them) for the first time. The vacuums are built to last!! Their suction power is great, they're easy to use, and the story with limited space. If I ever have to replace mine, I'll get another Dyson!
Super powerful, and also lightweight. Gets both my carpet and hardwood extremely clean. The little bin is a bit small on the V12, otherwise amazing.

I must admit, I'm quite disappointed with Dyson's performance, especially considering its premium price tag. While the brand markets itself as offering superior quality, I find that it doesn't quite live up to the hype when compared to more affordable stand brands like Bosch. First and foremost, the price point is significantly higher than other reputable brands, which makes me question whether I'm paying for the actual quality or just the Dyson name. I expected a top-notch product that would outperform its competitors, but that wasn't the case. In terms of performance, Dyson falls short in some areas. I've noticed that they lack the robustness and reliability that other brands like Bosch offer at a more reasonable cost. It's frustrating to pay a premium for a product that doesn't meet my expectations.. In conclusion, while Dyson may have a sleek design and innovative features, I don't believe the quality justifies the exorbitant price. There are other stand brands like Bosch that offer comparable or even better performance at a more affordable cost. If you're considering a Dyson purchase, I'd advise you to explore other options first and weigh the price against the actual value you'll be getting.
I vacuum more because of how easy and user friendly theirs is. clean home means good product ! I would say - quite expensive but mostly worth the investment.

For the amount of money spent my dyson is so beat up after only 2 years. I has scratches and cracks. It doesn’t roll well on high Carpet so when I use it on my rug it takes so much labor.

i love my airwrap! as someone who struggles with curling irons, this one is such a game changer. i used to dread styling my hair but this makes it very easy and effortless for me. and i also don't have to wait for it to heat up!
Game changer. So much better for your hair and saves so much time. I have an air wrap and two hair dryers. Love styling natural waves with the air wrap. Looks like a blowout.
I have a Dyson hairdryer and love it for a lot of reasons. It dries my hair in half of the time and when I use the attachments correctly really makes a difference in the texture of my hair. It is incredibly expensive and not sure it is totally worth the cost for those things even saying that.

I own two Dysons, the upright animal for pet hair, and the stick vacuum. While pricey, they are worth every penny!
Our Dyson V10 Animal cost us just about as much as our rent at the time but we have zero regrets! It puts every other vacuum I've ever used to shame. Vacuuming truly doesn't feel like a chore anymore it's so easy.

I wish the battery life was a little better. From what I understand this is improved on future models!
I own a cord-free vacuum cleaner and an air purifier. Cleaning the floor has become so much easier since I own a dyson. Also the cleaning result is much better than with previous products. I’ve had the the air purifier for several years now and it really helps us through hot summers.
Really happy with my cordless vacuum from Dyson! It's easy to store (I have mine tucked away in a closet) and it always picks up so much dirt.

I do have to be careful to clean out long hair from the roller but it's not a big inconvenience.
Love the air wrap, I have naturally curly hair so it’s nice not to put too much heat while giving myself a blow out !

I would love to purchase certain attachments by itself and not a whole new machine.
We own a Dyson V10 and are overall satisfied with the product. It is easy to operate, comes with well-rounded attachments, and does a decent job with battery life.

I wish it would offer an attachment with a vacuum and mop. Also, if the product would be lighter.
I love my Dyson vacuum - however, the run time isn't very ling. I find myself having to charge it frequently on cleaning days, making my cleaning time 2x longer. Otherwise, it cleans really well!

Love my new cordless vacuum. So convenient! The battery lasts a long time as well off the charger. Easy to empty and clean.
