Daily Harvest earns mixed reviews: it excels at convenient, plant-forward smoothies that many find tasty and inspiring for healthier habits, but its savory bowls and some scoops/ice creams often disappoint with bland, gritty, or chalky textures. Reviews also flag small portions and inconsistency across flavors, while praising easy prep, variety, clear ingredients, and manageable subscriptions; several cite a serious past recall and packaging waste as concerns.

  • I ordered an assortment or smoothies, soups, veggie bakes/bowls and ice cream. Overall it was mediocre. The salted caramel ice cream was chalky. Some of the bowls were pretty good, all could have used more flavor. The smoothies were good, but expensive. I had high hopes, but I won't order again.

  • Not particularly impressed. Better than some food delivery companies regarding packaging but still-just wasteful. Smoothie flavors unimpressive and food mediocre. Also, misleading portions (very small amounts).

    Feedback

Better packaging, better flavors, more substantial quantity.

  • I love the convenience of Daily Harvest and the fact that it's so easy to get in several servings of fruits and veggies in an easy-to-make smoothie or other meal. The smoothies are generally delicious, though of course everyone has a different palate and might like some more than others.

    Feedback

The soups, flatbreads, and meals are a little light on substance and leave me needing much more to feel full. For the price, I'd hope they would be a little more substantial.

  • Meh. Hated the smoothies. Loved the flatbreads. Threw away the energy balls.

    Feedback

SO MUCH WASTE! I couldn't handle all of the packaging I had to throw away.

  • The marketing is great but I didn't enjoy their smoothies. The concept is great but I prefer the smoothies I would make myself using MiraBurst.

  • I like the Daily Harvest shakes a lot. The bowls are gross, but the shakes are totally good. They also last in the freezer forever, which is great.

    A bit expensive

  • I think I initially ordered 16 items, delivery was smooth and everything was packed with dry ice. I got some flatbreads, many smoothies, and a few overnight oats bowls. Most of them were very good, but if I were to order again, I would probably get all smoothies.

  • Over the years, the portions have shrunk but the price has increased. DH poisoned a lot of their customers over the summer of 2022 and handled the situation very poorly by not issuing a recall until a month+ after people were sickened, not notifying their customers properly (hiding behind "an important message" link that you had to click on their website rather than clearly stating "food safety recall", not calling their customers, only mailing letters 2 months after the FDA investigation began, etc.) There are numerous news articles from reputable sources describing how poorly the company handled the situation - there are ways to deal with a food safety recall and DH did not respond appropriately. People lost their livers because of this.

Stay away from this company, they care about their profits only, not people's health

  • Not bad. But nothing special.

    Feedback

The ice cream had a slight avacado taste and it was veryyyy icey.

  • The meals were subpar in flavor and in texture, but they do seem to be as nutritious as claimed. However, I did enjoy the breakfast options and the snack bite options, although I did not feel they were worth the cost.

  • Though I've never had my own subscription (I can't speak for if the cost is worth it), I did try most of the smoothie flavors while living with a friend who was subscribed. They are definitely delicious, easy to prepare and I felt very clean after eating.

  • I’m a huge fan of Daily Harvest’s mission. They truly make it easier to eat healthier on weekdays when I don’t have time to cook. Their pizzas are all really delicious and I love their “bites” and smoothies. In my opinion, some of their bowls can be hit or Miss but I have my go-tos. I love how easy it is to add to cart, skip weeks and that they frequently have new items to try.

I find myself adding protein to the bowls to make them a complete dinner portion, so I wish they’d be more filling!

  • The packaging is nice. Everything was frozen when I received it and my box was outside for a couple of hours until I got home. There are a ton of choices of meals and I liked that they added soups and bowls. The actual taste was not bad but I could not get past the texture. I tried many times and they were always grainy.

  • I keep these in rotation in my freezer all the time for quick, easy meals (breakfast lunch or dinner). I honestly do enjoy the bowls, the smoothies are okay. I do also find myself dropping an egg in with the bowls though just to add a little extra punch. Subscription is pretty easy to manage. The calories are a little low per serving to sustain on this solely, but as an adjunct to my normal eating it's really nice to have.

  • I subscribed to Daily Harvest for a few months and while I enjoyed the meals, the way their subscriptions work was annoying. They never notified me that my box was coming until it was too late to switch up my meals, so I often got duplicates. I did enjoy that the choices were all vegan, and I could choose to add a meat protein to supplement if I wanted.

  • I understand the ethos of the company and appreciate their seasonal flavours and ingredient combinations but it ended up being more trouble than its worth. It's cheaper and only minimally less convenient to just cook for scratch in bulk and freeze.

  • Ordered from daily harvest multiple times - I liked the smoothies just because they were interesting flavors that I wouldn’t necessarily make on my own and they were super easy to make. The various bowls, soups and flatbreads were fine but definitely not worth the cost - I was usually still hungry afterwards

  • I'm generally not a huge fan of the bowls/smoothie cups, but I absolutely ADORE their ice creams. They're very caloric, but among the cleanest & most delicious plant-based options.

  • I recommend doing some research into the recent recall the brand had, specifically their lack of response to the issues with their product and the health issues numerous people are facing

  • While I wanted this exact product (easy, quick meal or smoothie creation every morning from my freezer), the products just don't taste great, look great, or come together correctly, especially given the super high, luxury prices.

The food items are hilarious to look at cooked vs what they're supposed to look like. For instance, the flatbread was like a piece of cardboard with veggies and cheese glued to it. The pricing is out of control, way too expensive.
