Cometeer Coffee earns strong reviews for delivering cafe-level flavor and exceptional convenience—flash‑frozen capsules dissolve into smooth, fresh‑tasting coffee that shines for iced lattes and quick hot cups—yet the brand draws criticism for excessive packaging, freezer-space demands, and subscription frustrations. Reviews also note inconsistent customization of roasters/flavors, occasional damaged or melted pods, and a few complaints of bitter taste or very high caffeine, making it outstanding for speed and variety but imperfect for sustainability purists or those wary of subscriptions.

That was pretty impressive. Way better than I expected (having received it as a gift and assuming it was going to be 'solid instant coffee but nothing like the real thing' I drink my coffee black, and this held up comparable to a pretty good version of similar drip brew of their roasters (many of which I've had before). This is a really nice solution for people who don't want to batch brew, or who want to use these in iced coffee, etc

the website is beautiful but information like "how long will a capsule last in the freezer" is nowhere to be found

I am a total coffee snob. Would rather perish in the desert than survive off Starbucks if offered. Cometeer truly is exceptional coffee that you make one cup at a time and is about 100x better than K-cup garbage. I really love the variety of coffees that arrive each month and it has gotten me to try roasters I haven't even heard of before, but once I Google them it's fun to see they are some of the best roasters in the U.S.

Expensive. Totally a luxury product and one of the first things I will drop if my budget tightens. Not eco-friendly in any way. You are shipping frozen pucks of coffee around the country via UPS. I feel tremendous guilt every time the package arrives and it's this giant box with tons of internal packaging, dry ice, etc... and there are just these tiny little boxes you pull out of the coffee pucks.

Cometeer makes it super easy to enjoy high-quality coffee without going through the motions of hand-brewing it. I do own a V60, but Cometeer is super convenient during work when I don't necessarily have time to grind the beans, boil the water, and brew the coffe myself. They also partner with high-quality roasters. I have bought beans from most of them before, and the quality of the coffee I've tried so far has been pretty good across all brands.

I wish there could be more ways to mix and match the types of coffee you can get in each shipment. Currently, you either get a sampler pack (dark, medium, and light roasts) or pick a specific roast you like. I love dark for iced coffee and light for hot coffee, so it'd be amazing if I can pick just those two types. A bit more clarify on which beans would be included in each shipment before I order would be great as well.
This is so much better than you think and I'm a coffee snob. I had George Howell's Alchemy in this format and I could not tell the difference between what I made versus what I make on my high quality Technivorm with Baratza setup. My family is a big fan of James Hoffman on YouTube and while I didn't get a chance to do the taste test he did recently, I love the idea.

Cometeer changed my coffee routine. The coffee is strong enough that one cup lasts me all day and I no longer have an afternoon lag where I have to drink another cup. I work in an office and have saved a lot of money from not going out for an afternoon cappuccino!
My family has become loyal fans of Cometeer Coffee. As a matter of fact, we just received another shipment of their coffee today. It is easy to make, and tastes great. I like that they have so many different flavors of coffee, and I love the recyclable packaging. Keep up the good work.

I have a huge amount of respect for this team for trying a totally new approach to a thousand year old ritual. That's not easy to do. And the 4 or so varieties of coffee I've had tasted fantastic. The packaging is gorgeous, too. I love that they're a platform for other roasters. My only hesitations are price point (I understand it's not cheap to ship frozen coffee concentrate) and the arrival of a box with dry ice etc. can feel a little OTT versus ground coffee in a bag.
I’m really into coffee and I think cometeer is a great choice for coffee drinkers who can’t afford a good coffee setup or for gifting to people who don’t know how to brew good coffee at home.

When I’m traveling I will bring these capsules with me in a small cooler (they are tsa friendly) and they are a lifesaver when I can’t get good coffee! It seems expensive but when you break down the price I believe it’s around $1.60 per cup of coffee.
Cometeer revolutionized my morning routine. I'd been buying single-origin whole-bean coffee, grinding my beans, and using a Chemex to brew--which makes an unbeatable cup, but is a bit labor- and time-consuming for busy weekday mornings. Their gorgeous branding got me, and I decided to try Cometeer on a whim, never thinking I'd make a long-term switch. Well, months later, my fridge is stocked with capsules, and my morning coffee is done in the time it takes to boil water--literally. Once dissolved in boiling water, the flash-frozen coffee tastes fresh-brewed, and makes an absolutely delicious cup. I subscribe to the light roast selection (you can pick from light, medium, dark, or a combination), and get four boxes of light roast coffee, each from a different small-batch roaster, delivered roughly once a month (you can customize the delivery frequency). The process is so effortless and the results so good that my Chemex, for the moment, has been relegated to kitchen decor.

As amazing as this service is, there are a few drawbacks. There's the price point for each delivery, which was recently increased by $9.99 to include shipping. Although the capsules are recyclable, there's still a considerable amount of packaging waste. And lastly, I wish we'd get some choice in the roasters and coffees we receive each month, or at least the ability to provide some feedback in the event we didn't like a particular variety (this has only happened to me once) and preferred to exclude it from future shipments. Overall, Cometeer delivers top-notch coffee and previously unimaginable convenience, and adds a good bit of fun to the morning routine.
Purchased at FoxTrot and love this coffee! Always good to have in your freezer for when you don't want to make a cup yourself. I drink black and it's perfect every time.

Can't wait for them to partner with more roasters.

Super innovative and seriously tasty. It's way way easy. Literally poor hot water on it. My only complaint is that you don't get any crema on top. It feels more llke tea.
This is the ultimate postpartum treat. I know people love to use Cometeer pods for traveling, but this was soooo clutch for the newborn phase. I love trying the various types of coffee in the variety of roasts, and every time I had one it felt like a treat without spending $7 on a latte. I often use their packaging cards as an example for brands on what to do right.

Really love this, I wish there were more incentives/sales for repeat buyers.
If you value great quality and convenience you HAVE to try cometeer. The reality is, I will not be able to pull an espresso shot as good as cometeer without having to spend TONS of money on professional / high quality equipment and on top of that I would have to go through a lot of trial and error to be able to perfect it to the quality that cometeer provides easily.

My only issue with this subscription is the lack of customization / selection. I love that I got to try a lot of different types of coffee from a lot of different brands. Now, I want to be able to reorder the exact same ones that I love. However, because they send you different ones each time, I can't reorder the same box that I want from a previous order.
Really great coffee that’s super simple to make! It tastes great black or with cream/milk/almond milk, better than homemade coffee.

I wish I could buy per box instead of a subscription

I was so impressed by this brand all around. The packaging, convenience, sustainability, and most of all the taste. I truly couldn’t believe how good the coffee tasted and how easy it was to use

Pricing is a little high and it would be nice if each cup made a larger cup of coffee - I found that I couldn’t add too much water without diluting the taste resulting in a pretty small cup
I think it's definitely really high quality coffee but it definitely has a price attached. I like how you can make hot or iced coffee from the same pod, and that they're recyclable.

Find a great cup of coffee has been a challenge since moving to the suburbs. I figured I'd give Cometeer a try - each cup tastes as if I got from a proper coffee shop in the city.
This is some of the best coffee I have ever had. I love how I can make hot and iced coffee, lattes and espresso martinis ;) all with coffee from famous roasters from around the country.
My go to source for indulging in barista grade coffees without needing to get out of my PJs / leave the house! Fast & easy to use, great selection of brands & options, and now you can choose packs from coffees from specific roasters for delivery. I find subscription / delivery dates can be a bit annoying to manage but its worth it.
I love cometeer. The coffee is excellent and I love that they work with different roasters so I get to try new coffees. It’s so easy - from the subscription to making it. I used to make myself a pour over every morning, or go to the coffee shop. But this is cheaper than going out and as a busy working mom, it’s a must for my household. Pro tip: try thawing and pouring cold milk over for an instant iced latte.
