Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • This game is awesome for family/friends. Great icebreaker, always gets lots of laughs.

  • Perfect to play with friends or even family! Had so much fun with this during gatherings and opens up a real bond with everyone in a fun and engaging way!

  • I have had BIG FUN every time I have played this game. So funny, so obscure, so creative.

    Feedback

    Nothing! It’s hilarious!

  • Be careful who you play this with. In the "right" company this game is very funny and definitely a conversation starter. Card quality is good so it is a legit purchase.

    Feedback

This is not a strategy game ... hahaha. But it is worth the hype. Ya almost have to try it once just to say you did.

  • What a classic! I played to this game during family nights and it was always a hit. It's super easy to play and you really can discover a funny side of the people around you! I also like the branding and how sassy they are!

    Feedback

Have the extension available make it even more nice, even if it's already difficult to have the same mix. You can play with it plenty of time and still have fun with it.

  • I’ve been playing this with my friends for years and have several expansion packs. Always fun!

    Feedback

Would love some more super NSFW expansions and maybe some themed packs. Some geeky stuff possibly.

  • This game was soo much fun and funny! I would definitely not play this game with kids. Adults only 😂

  • Few games result in the kind of laugh-til-it-hurts experience you get with Cards Against Humanity. This is not a game for prudes, conservatives or generally stuffy people, as the language is graphic, and you may be shocked by some definitions in the Urban Dictionary. But if you can embrace a non-politically-correct evening of insane fill in the blanks (one sentence Mad Libs, where many of the answers are raunchy, unlikely and ridiculously absurd, but hilarious), this game is a guaranteed good time!

  • Have a few drinks before playing for optimal experience. Results vary depending on who you choose to play this game with. Recommended for a good time with the right group

  • This game is a hoot for adults! They offer different card sets so you have variety.

  • Always fun and makes the group of people laugh. Love that they keep expanding and staying relevant.

    N/A

  • This game has been fun with the right group but over time it has lost its luster. I would much rather play something with a regular deck of cards.

    Feedback

This isn't really a game meant for all adult age groups, and loses its appeal after playing a few times.

  • Great game that brings many laughs. I love they are making so many expansion packs. The more people you have playing the funnier it gets.

    Feedback

    All around solid game

  • It’s a really funny and great game but it would be nice to have some cards easily filtered out based on the company you’re playing with

  • I've played this game plenty of times with my circle of friends and have always had a good laugh.

  • I thought Taboo was the best party game until I played Cards Against Humanity. Gut-bustingly funny.

    Feedback

Make sure you play with a group adults with a good sense of humor. Easy for some to get offended.

  • Classic game, who doesn't know about this by now? Great for any party and always worth having a box for an occasion.

    Feedback

They have some extra packs you can get too with different card topics.
