Bread Beauty Supply earns largely positive reviews for effective curl-friendly formulas—standouts include Hair-Oil everyday gloss, scalp serum, mud mask, and a creamy hair wash—delivering softness, shine, detangling, and flake control. Reviews also flag drawbacks: very sweet, candy-like scents that some find artificial or overwhelming, occasional heaviness that weighs down fine or thin 3a hair, inconsistent results from certain shampoos/conditioners, and fussy packaging that can be messy or hard to squeeze.

This review is for the hair oil. It smells AMAZING and does a great job softening my hair and adding shine. Great for everyday and the bottle looks cute too.

I've only used the oil but I absolutely love it. The right amount of moisturizing and de-frizzing without weighing your curls down. Also highly rated in terms of clean ingredients. Smells really good.

The hair oil is one of my favorite scents ever!
I got the Detox hair kit as a gift, with the scalp mud mask and scalp serum (plus a cute gingham bag to go with). The combination has been pretty effective in lessening my scalp's flakiness and oiliness. Plus the product packaging is beautiful.

When I got it the scalp serum was already half empty. I think the lid wasn't entirely screwed closed and it leaked out. Not ideal.
The hair oils meant for 3a-4c hair, but I have 2b/2c hair and like it just fine. It smells like gummy bears which is really lovely if that's what you're in the mood for. I use it very sparingly and at the ends. I have put it in the mid shaft, and I haven't had a problem with it weighing my hair down.

The hair oil packaging is aesthetically pleasing, but there needs to be some kind of plastic stopper at the top that limits how fast the oil dispenses. As it stands, you have to be really careful with how you pour it out. Also the sticker and labelling feels very scrappy, and it is pretty obvious the label was done by hand.
I love the hair oil it smells great and it gives my hair shine. I am definitely looking forward to buying more of their products and seeing what it does for my hair. My hair easily gets dried and tangled I am hoping that their products will continue to help me with this issue.
I found BREAD at Sephora when I was desperately trying to find a hair wash that would actually work. I think the thing that drew me in was the branding aimed towards those with curls, including ones like mine, and the interesting smell of fruit loops. Some of the workers at Sephora also had good things to say about the brand, specifically their mud mask. I only purchased the Hair Wash, in the end, and true to their word, it felt like melted marshmallows in my hand and smelled like a milky bowl of fruit-loops. Definitely took a while to get used to the smell, personally, but I know quite a few people who would trade an arm and leg for the smell. My only real complaint is that it really didn't do much for me, except be a small step above what I could get in Walmart. For the size and price I was less interested, and my scalp issues were unaffected by it, never quite getting completely cleaned. While I like the eco-friendly-ness of the packaging, it definitely was a little irritating in actual use when trying to find a decent spot to place it while I'm applying it.

I was gifted the bread beauty supply hair oil recently and I love it! I usually have an oily scalp and dry ends so around day 3 or 4 my hair looks very flat on the roots and puffy at the ends. This oil was lightweight and perfect to refresh my dry ends. It really only takes a few drops for good moisture so the bottle will last you forever.

The smell was a little overwhelming so I would buy the fragrance free version.
I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with thinner, curlier hair. The hair oil weighed down my thin 3a hair, but I did enjoy their products. The products worked, but I didn't notice anything significantly different. The fragrance is strong though, so sensitive noses beware! I would recommend this for thicker, more textured hair.
I have relatively straight hair with semi-oily and irritable scalp, and the cleansing conditioner worked so well with my hair type! I love how easy the 1-step is, it smells wonderful, and left my hair and scalp feeling happy and moisturized. Also the branding is just *heart eyes*

Nothing :)
I'm absolutely obsessed with the hair oil, it smells really good and my hair feels a lot less dry throughout the day. I've also tried the ultra-hydrating shampoo and did not it at all. It made my hair feel so dry and not hydrating at all; and the intensive moisture mask conditioner didn't do enough to get rid of the dry stray feeling of hair. Would and have repurchased the hair oil, but that's it.
I've purchased several items from this brand and really enjoy them all. Most of the products have a sweet scent that I am surprised I actually enjoy, probably because the scent doesn't linger for long. I love using the mud mask on the ocassion that I blow dry my hair, and the scalp serum the night before I wash my hair. The scalp serum has really helped with the dryness/flakes I get. Their most popular/talked about product is the hair gloss which I also enjoy using, not for every day use, but on the days my hair really needs a pick me up.

way to heavy for my daughters 3a hair but for my 4a hair it was good. maybe I need to try another product? We did the mask that comes in the plastic pouch
I have the detox mask, I use this during wash day, i want to try other products but aI am loving this mask
I am obsessed with Bread. I love the Hair Oil, but every time I use the shampoo I feel like I'm in heaven. The smell is just divine! And the shampoo alone feels more like a conditioner. It leaves my hair soft and I could probably even go without conditioning. The conditioner is also amazing. I love their branding and packaging too.

I love the packaging, but sometimes it's a little hard to squeeze out with wet hands in the shower, and then to get it to stand up while you have product in your hand. I get around it though.
I got the Bread Hair Oil for my daughter who is mixed with very thick 3b hair because 1) her hair soaks up everything and is still dry 2) a rep at Sephora highly recommended it 3) it smells so so good!! She uses it almost daily both when she washes her hair but also on days when she’s just trying to tame frizz and curb dryness

I love Bread Beauty! My fave products have to be their Mud Mask and hair oils. Whenever my hair feels dull or limp, the mud mask comes to the rescue! I’ve used up two tubes so far, and starting my third soon. The oils are nourishing but not too heavy for fine hair.
This review will be fairly short because I have only tried two products from this brand. I got a Bread Beauty gift set from Sephora (I bought it for myself) and it contained the Hair-Oil everyday gloss and the Macadamia Oil concentrate. I honestly really liked both. The scent for the hair gloss is so good.. it's very sweet-- which usually I dislike. However, this one is just a very good scent. The body oil has no scent, but I like it. I usually will mix it with body lotion and then apply. I love supporting a black owned business. I also love the bottles!

I tried both their hair gloss and macadamia oils that came in the set. The scent of the hair gloss is a candy-like fruity, but to some the artificial flavor smells plasticky. I find both oils absorb well, but not as well as some competitors. Even so, it is excellent for the price.

I'd like a version of the oils that's fragrance free since I can be sensitive to some.
