Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I think their pasta products are pretty good. It definitely has a noticeable taste and texture difference from regular pasta but I think it's work it for the added protein/nutrition.

  • Banza provides a good alternative to pasta while having great amounts of protein and remaining healthy. However, the taste is not quite close enough to normal pasta meaning it can't be substituted into more complex dishes. I think it does fill a good gap for simple weeknight meals though.

  • This review is only for the pasta, as that’s the only thing I’ve tried. Wow, I was pretty impressed! The taste is actually really pretty good, as is the texture. The only thing I will say is that to me it cooked up a bit softer than regular pasta, so I’d try for a somewhat shorter cooking time next time. Also, when I prepared it I made a creamy sauce which worked well with it, but I’m not sure how it would go with red sauce.

Texture a little off, but not bad at all. Price is a little expensive for what it is.

  • My go-to for subbing in protein pasta. Delicious!

Water gets a bit foamy when you're boiling the pasta.

  • I've only really tried the pasta from this brand, but I like it. Love that I can have my pasta dishes whilst still getting in extra protein. I like the taste / texture, even if they do differ from your regular pasta.

  • I tried this pizza thinking about being healthier with my options. I did not like the taste or the texture of this pizza and ended up being a really wet crust. I went in knowing it wouldn’t be the same but it wasn’t the best alternative crust pizza that I’ve tried. The taste was okay though.

More testing into your crusts and components of the pizza. Maybe different cook times or ways to cook it would be best.

  • I have tried Banza pizza, pasta, rice, and mac and cheese. The rice and pasta are my favorite. The texture and flavor are decent and higher in protein and fiber compared to regular options. I have only had the pizza once, it was the vegetable one. It was just ok, but I was also a bit sick when I tried it. The mac and cheese is ok as well.

  • Banza pasta tastes amazing! I've loved every product I've tried so far, from the frozen pizza to mac & cheese to the cascatelli shaped-noodles.

  • As someone trying to work on eating better to see more progress weightlifting (but also not willing to give up yummy pasta) banza is my go to. It does taste slightly different that regular pasta, but the pros of getting extra protein, fiber, and less carbs make it worth it

  • As a Registered Dietitian and a parent, I LOVE how how Banza helps me provide more protein and fiber to what would otherwise be a meal that lacks both. Our whole family (and my clients) love Banza!

  • Finally some tasty pizza that doesn't hurt my stomach! Obsessed with Banza pizza and Banza pasta! Perfect with anyone with a gluten allergy or intolerance.

Make more products! Flatbreads, more pasta styles, etc

  • I honestly do not notice a difference when eating Banza chickpea pasta versus regular pasta. It's great for my macros and I love the extra protein it provides. I also like that this brand is becoming more popular so it's easy to find in a local grocery store. I saw that they are making other products like pizzas so I'm excited to try those too!

This is a minor thing but I notice that when I boil the pasta, the pasta water is much thicker and viscous than normal pasta. It doesn't affect taste but note this if you don't immediately drain your water after cooking

  • I love Banza pizza. It is one of the best gluten free pizzas out there and has the added fiber+protein benefits. I do not love the noodles/pasta as much, and prefer lentil pasta as a gluten free option. I find the chickpea taste is more obvious than the lentil pasta, and I wish there weren't added gums. The mac and cheese is a nice treat, and I do enjoy the product.

    Remove gums from ingredients

  • I love Banza!! I always grab their pasta instead of regular pasta. I like that the chickpeas add some taste to the dish but don't overpower it like some other pasta made with alternative products. Their vegan mac and cheese also feels very authentic and not fake like some other brands.

  • Their pastas are good but haven’t tried too many other products by them. The Mac n cheese was kind of disappointing in flavor but wasn’t bad.

  • LOVE! so delicious, high protein, healthier alternative to normal pizza. great pasta, pizza options.

    more pizza topping options

  • This is a great way to get kids to get more veggies and protein in their diet. These cook fast so be careful because they can get a little mushy if you overlook them.

    Feedback

These don’t reheat well and the banza rice is hard to find in stores.

  • Super good gluten free pasta alternative. Really good, and I recommend adding a sauce just to cover up the slight chickpea aftertaste. Really good though!

Some people have intense stomach reactions to it, but not sure if that's something that Banza can change.
