Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • It’s so easy to swap banza with regular pasta - the taste and texture are so much better than most pasta substitutes I have tried, and I would say I almost always reach for this when I want an easy, healthy dinner. Plus my dad and brother another have Celiac, so having a gluten free item that’s accessible is priceless. I would recommend this to anyone!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Banza products. They make amazing high protein foods that are great for many purposes. I used them on my weight loss journey that made me feel like I was still eating comfort foods but filled me up faster. I tried their pizzas and mac and cheese and loved it all.

  • Love the pasta!!! Tastes almost exactly like regular pasta with a heartier taste. High in protein!

Really delicious and affordable, more like whole wheat pasta.

  • banza products are amazing and offer high protein products to hit your protein goals of the day! it's a wonderful brand that also tastes wonderful <3

  • I love Banza! Great opportunity to sneak in a bit more protein and pairs well with any sauce. As a pasta lover, I can't tell the difference between this and regular pasta. The only thing is that it's quite expensive compared to regular pasta, but definitely worth it for me.

  • A great alternative to typical pasta. It's also a great way to get in protein. Super yummy, and the taste isn't notably different than regular pasta.

  • Their pasta is our go-to when we're looking for protein-packed, fibrous whole wheat alternatives. This may be particular to our family but we also enjoy the texture which is a bit softer than your typical pasta. It may depend on the dish you'd like to use it for but we love it as we have a low-cholesterol regimen we have to stick to.

  • Tastes decent but don't cook it like regular pasta. You wanna pull a little earlier than you normally would a dried pasta. They overcook super easily. The texture of the noodle is also a bit mealy. Great pasta alternative if you're GF but if you're just switchin it up, stick to reg pasta.

    Feedback

The mealiness of the texture is not it so be aware of that if you're looking for something that tastes and behaves just like a traditional pasta. More information about what to expect/differences would be helpful.

  • I've tried the pasta multiple times. There's no denying that it's good for you but the texture is always slightly off. It's grainy and clumps together at the same time. It's also pretty expensive for a single box of pasta. I've tried the mac and cheese too; that was also just ordinary. I'd recommend this for people who care about the health benefits more than the taste.

  • The Banza pasta is a good product, worth a try if you're a pasta-lover and want some more protein in your diet. It has a neutral flavor and can be a good match with most sauces that you would have with regular pasta.

    Feedback

Banza pasta is not very starchy, meaning that a lot of sauces won't be thickened by starch or stick to the pasta as well as regular pasta, so make sure to account for this. Also, Banza doesn't have the nice bite of al dente pasta, and it breaks apart more easily than regular pasta.

  • Banza pasta is a great gluten free alternative. It has good texture and taste--I can't tell the difference between Banza and normal pastas out there.

    Do not overcook!

  • Banza pasta is a wonderful alternative to your traditional wheat pasta, plus it’s high protein! I love to use it for pasta salads or spaghetti dinner. It comes in all the shapes and sizes you need and tastes delicious. Highly recommend!

Be careful not to overcook or they will get mushy and fall apart.

  • I tried the pasta and the taste was fine but nothing fantastic. I think it's a great alternative for people with allergies but personally preferred other pastas over this!

    Feedback

Taste was just so-so for me personally.

  • I did not know that I was going to be such a fan of chickpea dough, but here I am writing a review about how much I love Banza. I've ha their pasta and pizza, both being tasty. I actually like their orange packaging as it stands out from the rest of the peers on the shelf. Would recommend to my friends and family.

  • Ok so i've had the pasta a few times now and it took come trial and error to get the flavors right. Make sure you read the directions and salt the water! This absolutely helps with taste, then use a sauce, do not use only oil or butter. Overall its good "pasta" but flavorless without anything.

    Feedback

you need to add sauce and salt your water for it to taste good.

  • The Banza pasta has a grainy texture that's kind of off putting. Great if you need some additional protein and I like the flavor, but I think if you don't need the plant protein or have dietary restrictions, go with regular pasta and get in your protein in other ways.

  • Not a fan of the taste. I have had Hippeas before which are chickpea based puffs and they are good so I gave the pizza a try. It didn't taste that great and it made my stomach hurt.

  • Here is what I will say - just give it a shot! If you are looking for a healthier version of a favorite carb, Banza is a great option. I was surprised by their noodle quality. The texture and flavor was very, very close to it's original counterpart. Excited to try the pizza next!

    Feedback

Pricier than regular noodles so it is a little difficult to purchase every time, but makes me feel better about what I'm eating.

  • Best pasta alternative out there! After taste is not the best, but it's worth the calories :)
