Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • I love this type of pasta it taste really good and it leaves you feeling full and not bloated like flour pasta does. It’s the best of both worlds!

  • Banza's chickpea-based products are a game-changer! Their pasta, mac & cheese, rice, and pizza deliver on taste and nutrition. It's a guilt-free way to enjoy your favorite comfort foods.

  • Love this stuff!!! My mom started to get it and make really good pasta with it. I was dumbfounded when I saw the protein in each serving. If you workout and need meals with more protein, you gotta give this a try.

  • the best chickpea pasta I've tried! it really holds up and doesn't fall apart - cook it for the time indicated on the box and even if it seems like it's still too hard, it softens up beautifully in sauce.

  • banza’s great for keeping up with macros, if that’s something you’re into and doing. The smell of them after having being cooked is probably what throws me off, there are better tasting chickpea pastas.

  • I really like banza products. Of course the taste is not 100% “normal” or the same as a non chickpea-centric product, but I enjoy the taste and enjoy the feeling of getting more protein into the foods I’m already eating. The mac & cheese is my favorite product. I think the small shells are good for the taste.

  • This product is a new addition to my pantry. I've been gluten free on and off for a couple years now, but whenever I've gone gluten free in the past I made sure to avoid all gluten free pasta options. I figured it just wasn't worth the time finding a good pasta alternative. This is why I initially didn't buy Banza. No matter how cute the packing was, I figured all gluten free past was bad. That was until my friend made Banza pasta for me. It actually tasted like real pasta! The packaging is super positive and colorful, but the pasta is good too! Overall, it's a great product and I'm so happy Banza exists because I now get to have a cute box in my pantry and good pasta at my dinner table.

  • Some of the pasta has a slightly strange texture - almost grainy, but all things considered, it's a decent option worth trying if you're looking for a traditional pasta alternative

  • When you have a child that has a gluten intolerance it's hard to find replacements for their favorite meals. This line of "pasta" is all we buy now and all the kids love it. Thanks for bringing spaghetti night back to the fam

  • I have enjoyed the small sized Banza pastas that I have tried and felt that they did not taste significantly different from typical pasta. The foam in the water can be alarming at first, but rinsing the finished pasta helps get rid of any foam or film. My experience with the Banza spaghetti was not as good. The pasta stuck together a lot and was difficult to separate, even when stirring regularly from the beginning.

  • I love the idea of a more nutrient based food product, and Banza fits that for my pasta alternatives. It's definitely not a replacement - I know from the mouthfeel and taste that it's not the semolina pasta I grew up and fell in love with - but it's great in its own right. I will happily replace my pasta with Banza on a regular basis for easy and quick meals. I find that it's not as forgiving if I cook it 30 or more seconds past it's "prime" bite state, and I can't drain and leave it aside without it really sticking together. So I have my sauce and sides ready before the pasta is done and throw it immediately into the sauce. Or, if I'm cooking pasta salad or anything cold/room temp, I'll throw the pasta into a bath of ice water and quickly pull it out into an oiled bowl and stir so it won't clump or overcook as much.

  • Huge Banza fan from their early start! I chef privately and this is always my go to gluten free pasta option or when I am just looking to add extra protein into our diets!

  • Banza makes an impressive range of products. I really enjoy the chipotle tomato rice and their various pasta noodles. Some of the noodles can have an off-taste to them, but with a good sauce it's hardly noticeable.

  • I like this brand overall, though I've only tried the pasta so far. It's good! It doesn't taste much different than regular pasta to me. The only downside is that it's not at "structurally sound" as regular pasta. It crumbles really easily, which might be an issue if presentation ranks high on your pasta priorities but doesn't matter at all if all you care about is taste.

  • These pastas are alright but they don’t taste like normal pasta and the consistency leaves much to be desired

  • I have mixed feelings about these healthier alternative to pasta. They do taste a lot like chickpeas and have heavy starch while boiling. One of my kids love them the other doesn't so it's not a go-to at the grocery store.

  • Favorite protein pasta. Love it with pesto sauce, grape tomatoes and mozzarella.

  • Love this pasta! It’s healthy and high in protein but low in carbs. I can tell it’s a good product when my family also enjoys eating it and they’re carb lovers :)

  • Love this stuff. Cooks like pasta, tastes like pasta. No one notices the difference when I switch it out with traditional rotini.
