Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • This is my favorite pasta! It’s high in protein and has less carbs

  • LOVE the extra protein as opposed to regular wheat pasta. The texture is different, but when covered in butter sauce and cheese, it hits the spot!

  • The pasta tastes just like regular pasta, but gives you more protein and fiber. The only thing I don't like is that it does not hold up well as leftovers. It becomes much a falls apart- I'm not sure if that is due to it sitting in the sauce or being refrigerated after being cooked. I think it tastes great but now I only cook as much as we can eat that night.

  • Tried the chickpea pasta because I wanted to add more protein to my diet but it didn’t taste the same. I think the grittiness was a bit too much than what I could take so I ended up scrapping the pasta/meatballs dinner and made a casserole instead. Definitely was better cooked in sauce for longer and layered with cheese!

  • I don’t think I like pasta made with alternative ingredients. I just missed regular pasta. I’m glad this option is available for others but it’s not for me.

  • Love Love Love! Healthy and high protein pasta? What could be better! Just keep in mind it does have a distinct chickpea taste (p.s. the penne is my favorite)!

  • Tasty and good quality, and healthy. I like Banzai a lot and would definitely get it again.

  • We eat the pasta and the macaroni and cheese and they taste great! Whole family loves it.

  • Super yummy and great way to get protein, the texture can just take some getting used to!

  • I love all banza products! I eat gluten free the majority of the time so having these alternatives with lots of different options is great. They taste great as well!

  • Banza is my go-to for a high-protein and "healthier" alternative to regular pasta. I really do love it and consistent re-purchase. However, the pasta texture varies greatly depending on the shape. For example, Rigatoni tends to get very mushy. My favorites are Cavatappi and Shells.

  • I’ve tried their pasta products and have much better protein content compared to leading brands.

  • The texture just isn’t there for me. I would rather eat beans or vegetables and save pasta for when I can have real pasta.

  • Pretty good pasta. I've tried out a lot of alternative grains pastas, and the Banza brand does a good job in trying to make pasta taste good.

  • The pasta is so so good, but a lot of the other products leave a lingering after taste, and the garbanzo beans create a texture that doesn’t work if it’s not a noodle.

  • Love as a high protein alternative to traditional pasta. Taste is pretty good

  • i've had both the pastas as well as the mac and cheese. big fan of the mac and cheese, not vegan but even the vegan mac and cheese is great as well. with a lot of chickpea based pastas it can be quite gummy but i don't have this issue with banza products.

  • Really great way to get plant protein in! Not sure it’s very comparable to pasta as far as texture and taste goes, but still a great alternative if you’re trying to reach for something more nutrient dense.

  • A great substitute for pasta that’s higher in protein. Keep mixing while cooks and it has a better consistency. Would recommend. I like their Mac and cheese alternative the best.
