    quip

I was not blown away by the quip toothbrush. I bought one for a trip because it was easier to pack than my giant electric toothbrush. It is not worth the cost. I didn’t feel like my teeth were cleaner or my brushing experience was improved in any way. The straight brush handle was not like ergonomically friendly. Kind of awkward to hold, actually. Save your money. Use the free brushes from your dentist while traveling

    Spindrift

Of all the mild flavored seltzers, Spindrift is the one I repurchase most often. Alone or with a mixer, the raspberry lime is just so tasty. Not overpowering, not too sweet. So pleasant.

    Summer Fridays

So I tried the lip balm after seeing all the hype on TikTok. Maybe I’m not core GenZ/Gen Alpha consumer but I was not moved in any type of way by the product. In fact, I returned. It was so expensive! And the scents gave my a headache (especially the cherry which smelled so fake!) Color payoff was pretty, but overall I prefer Lanolips for hydration and cost.

I had a really positive experience at the studio getting my third earlobe piercing. Everything was pristine and sanitized. The nurse did an excellent job, overall it was very enjoyable. I’ve even purchased a few gold plated earrings since then. My word of warning though is for the flat backed earrings. I got them as my initial piercing pair because I thought the flat back would be more comfortable than the butterfly back. I WAS SO WRONG. It’s like a little battering ram when you lie down on your side to sleep (which I do). Very unpleasant, so I recommend the butterfly backs if you’re a sensitive sleeper. I mention this here because I went with a friend and we wish someone would have warned us!!!

    Liquid Death

This brand/product is so stupidly brilliant, I wish I had thought of it. Let's be clear, my rating is 100% a reflection of the branding (the product is literally water in a can). Unlike most startups, Liquid Death understands culture and their consumer at an intimate level. They're in on the joke, but there's also incredible ethos behind the brand's mission. Hardo water that looks like beer to encourage healthier decisions in our drinking-dominant culture... genius.

    GOODLES

I love, love, love Goodles. The mac and cheese tastes just as good if not better than Kraft. My favorite is the Shella Good, I mix in peas for extra veggies. Soooo creamy and delicious. I also think pricing is really reasonable compared to other buzzy CPG brands. I first tried because they were on sale at Target and now I have them on permanent meal rotation. Excited to try more flavors!

    Glossier

I was an early Glossier evangelist (as I'm sure pretty much every NYC 20-something girl was in 2015) so I've purchased practically everything from the brand. Boy Brow, Milky Jelly Cleanser, and You were my only consistent repurchases. Serums I found better versions, cleanser I eventually went back to CeraVe... pretty much everything I replaced with better, more accessible, and cheaper versions. The fragrance is only product I still keep in my beauty rotation and even some days I resent smelling like every other millennial lol Like everyone else, I'm curious to see where Glossier goes post DTC heyday

    BAGGU

My Baggu canvas duck tote is one of my FAVORITE bags. I have the Jessica Williams embroidered version and -- no joke-- I get compliments every time I wear it. It's since sold out but I tracked down a spare on eBay, just in case anything happens to my beloved bag lol I also LOVE how Baggu handled its Sandy Liang collaboration. Drop culture is a mixed bag (no pun intended) and I thought it showed great integrity from the brand to take criticism and quickly find a solution (a preorder period for a second drop and order cap to dissuade resellers) to ensure that everyone who wanted a bag could get one.

    Bombas

Love my Bombas socks, but I do feel like quality has declined. My pairs from 2016 are in MUCH better shape compared to pairs I got in 2020 (less fading, no loose threads, just seem more durable). I still purchase because I love the unique colors, patterns, and lengths offered and––even though it's reflected in the price––they feel considerably better than generic socks.

    Milk Bar

Specifically reviewing Milkbar packaged foods in grocery: Packaged cookies are BIG disappointment and don’t capture magic of brick and mortar cookie confections. On the other hand the truffles—found in the refrigerated section—are very close to the deliciousness of the fresh made truffles in store.
