  • Adaptive, forgiving sizing technology
  • Saturated, beautiful color palette
  • Soft, tactile ribbed fabric
  • Flattering, confidence-boosting fit
  • See-through lighter color opacity
  • Delicate fabric snags easily
  • Inconsistent, uneven quality control
  • Stretch relaxation reduces longevity

Youswim earns polarized reviews: devotees praise the inclusive sizing that genuinely adapts through pregnancies and body fluctuations, tactile ribbed fabric, saturated color range, and often excellent fit across styles like Aplomb, Eva, Poise, and Zera, while detractors report see-through lighter shades, delicate fabric that snags or pills, inconsistent quality control, and suits stretching out over time. The brand is good for comfort, confidence, and forgiving fit, but prospective buyers should expect high-maintenance care, potential color transfer or staining, and variable longevity and coverage—especially in lighter colors and for taller torsos.

  • I love the size inclusivity and wide color palette of the brand, however, I was not the most satisfied with my purchase. I bought the special edition marigold color after reading about their product testing to not be see-through. Lo and behold my bikini top arrived and is definitely see through. I checked later, and apparently they do not test the special edition colors in the same way, which seems ingenuine. I also bought my pieces many years ago and seeing how the prices have increased, I would not recommend this brand.

  • Would love to worth and/or buy products from this brand. I love the company's inclusivity and diversity. SOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!! $200 FOR A BATHING SUIT. WHAT??

  • Meh. Wanted to love this suit so badly but I don’t think it deserves the hype. I love the blue color however the fabric is quite delicate and it will color transfer when wet leaving blue stains on towels and lounge chairs. Finding a well fitting one piece has always challenged me (5 ft 9 in). The Aplomb did not deliver on its claim to fit the tallest of the tall. Of course the material stretches but not nearly enough - it’s either going to be super cheeky or uncomfortably low cut. I will continue to wear it because it was expensive 🙃

Would not recommend and would not purchase again.

  • I've bought like 5 of these bathing suits and I'm always checking their site for more. I'm admittedly a very mainstream/conventionally-acceptable body shape and size (lean, 115, 5'6) but I adore these bathing suits so much for their versatility. So so so soft, so many beautiful colors, and they're very smoothing.

This isn't a dig at the company but something to keep in mind before you purchase — this is basically like buying a cashmere sweater. The care instructions for this fabric are very specific because it's a super-unique fabric. I accidentally left one of my YouSwim suits balled up, damp, in a bag for a couple days and the elastic was permanently ruined. If you need something more hardy and forgiving that can manage some wear and tear (e.g. if you surf or do a lot of swimming or diving or something, and your suit gets put through the wringer) then maybe get a Speedo suit or something less pricey, and save this one for the more relaxed beach/poolside/sailing days.

  • OMG Youswim. Where do I even start? I think my first one was bought either right before or during the pandemic. Since then, my summer "tops" consist almost exclusively of Youswims underneath something (or not ;)). I have always felt like sh*t in my body. Bathing suits dug and created shapes I wasn't into. Nothing ever fit (I was a M or L top w a S bottom). I felt so self conscious! Yoga came into my life at the same time as Youswim, so not only do my suits act as tops and as actual swimsuits at the beach, but also as my go to yoga uniform. I have at least 8 suits in constant rotation and love matching different colors. On top of ALL of this: their customer support team is INCREDIBLE; consistently providing prompt, personalized service. I'm also a huge fan of their business and sustainability practices. Are you sold yet? xo

  • I have been wearing youswim suits for over a year now and enjoy the comfort, versatility and beauty of the suits very much:) I live in Hawaii and ride horses and I am always getting in the water on my rides so I wear my youswim suit with shorts and am always ready to jump in and cool off after a great horseback ride :) The suits are perfect for my active life style, they make me feel confident, comfortable and beautiful:) thank you 🙏🏽 Aloha Lacey

  • I’ve purchased 3 swim suits. One in 2020- I still have and actively wear. I was able to purchase my second & third ones during 2 of the sales In 2023 & 2024. They’re amazing swim suits. My only Tif is the cost- it’s worth it for the look and fit. But it’s definitely something that has stopped me many times from purchasing the full price. I just wait for the sample sales or error sales they have.

  • I’ve bought youswim suits for year and love them! They are far superior than any fast fashion alternative, well made and flattering. Worth the price tag

  • I’ve been wearing Youswim swim wear for 4 years, they are the absolute best thing ever. The colours are amazing and such a selection. Their promise about fitting multiple sizes are spot on..I’m a 16, my daughter an 8 to 10 and we wear the same costumes. The fabric is unique, comfortable and flattering. They have different styles for different tastes and customer service is impeccable. All this and an ethical, positive body image company..what more can you ask for..

  • I was so tired of “growing out” of my old bathing suits - so the idea of a bathing suit growing WITH me was exciting! I purchased 1 Youswim bathing suit (poise-cheeky), LOVED IT - then purchased 2 more (poise-standard for extra bottom coverage & another poise-cheeky 😉)!!! My bathing suits are SO comfy, so cute, and really allow me to feel comfortable in my own skin ❤️. I can control how high my bottoms sit on my hips/waist, allowing me to cover my lower belly (the part I have insecurities with) when I feel the need 🫶🏼. I also LOVE the thoughtful and sustainable packaging - and know that because my swim suits will fit me even when my shape changes, I won’t need to buy more swimwear for next summer! I’ve read some of the other comments below, and have had no issues with caring for my bikinis so far - care for your Youswim bathing suits as you would for ANY bathing suit that has delicate fabric!! Avoid getting sunblock directly on the fabric, and after you’re done in the sun/pool/ocean, give your bathing suit a delicate hand rinse, gently press out any excess water, and lay out somewhere airy to dry! When cleaning, use the same method, with the addition of a little mild detergent for delicates, and your swim suits are good to go 🥰 Youswim has been a bathing suit game-changer for me & I can’t wait to purchase more, and continue to recommend to everyone ❤️❤️

  • Disappointing quality. I loved my Youswim when I got it, raved about the brand to everyone as so comfy and flattering, and fit my long torso. My swimsuit has stretched out and is now unwearable after only two years- my partner and my best friends swimsuits have also done the same. Such bad quality. For the price I was hoping it would last a long time. Wouldn’t recommend.

  • The swimsuits are great but they are expensive. When I purchased it I bought it thinking it would last a long time. However after 2.5 years the fabric has gone in so many places that it is unwearable. Its a real shame as I really believe in the company's ethos and mission.

  • A friend of mine recommended this brand of swimwear a few years back. I Ioved their beautiful yet simple designs. I felt lovely wearing my suit. I’ve had my swimsuit for about 3 years and I was going to wear it for this season for the first time, after taking a look at the swimsuit it visibly loss it’s elasticity on the bodice of my two piece. I diligently took care to rinse after each wear and hand wash my suit. I was quite saddened, for a company that seems to broadcast their sustainability efforts their products certainly are not built to last and are not worth the price tag!

The quality of the suit is not worth it’s price. It is not built to last more the a couple years even with diligent care.

  • I really loved my suit, but a little over a year after having it, both my friend and I had a similar experience in the fabric stretching/ripping in parts of the suit, even when carefully following their care instructions. It was such a shame! The suits aren't cheap, so I had expected they would last at least a few years. Truly so bummed. I reached out to customer service and the most they said they would do was a 35% discount on a new suit.

I get that sometimes products are defective - it happens! A replacement would have been the appropriate customer service response which is what I had requested.

  • Youswim has absolutely terrible quality control and it’s a crapshoot what you are going to receive. I have a total of 4 standard waist swimsuit bottoms from them. 2 have the cut on the left, and 2 have the cut on the right. Upon being shown this photo, Youswim customer service assured me that I was not sent high waist bottoms by accident. They told me that this meets their standards and is typical of the 15% manufacturing allowance for difference.

  • As other reviewers have stated, while there is absolutely so much to love about this brand and I have been a customer for many years, in addition to recommending it to anyone who would listen - I have ceased doing so in recent years due to the same issues listed below. Unfortunately, I feel that not only has the price increased but the quality has decreased over the past several years. I cannot afford to replace this swimsuit every 12 months when it begins to stretch out of shape to a state that is completely unwearable, despite following the care instructions to the letter (multiple suits now). I reached out to Youswim to highlight the recurring flaw and ask for a replacement on one or two occasions, and was advised the fault was only due to failing to follow the care instructions. I have since ceased purchasing or recommending the brand and have tried to look into more durable/sustainable options. Summarily, amazing swimsuits but personally cannot justify the price for such a limited lifespan.

  • I loved these suits and have bought them and recommended them for about 4 years, unfortunately I no longer can. My first unfortunate experience came from a sample sale, it was a discontinued color (marigold I believe). I loved it so much but it got a stretched out spot not long after I started wearing it. I chalked it up to that being why they discontinued that color and continued buying suits. Now my favorite one, a sage green regular waist aplomb, got a stretched out spot in it too! It lasted much longer but these suits are too expensive to keep replacing. I take such good care of them and planned on wearing them for many years to come as advertised.

  • I was SO on board when I found Youswim- sustainable, flexible swimwear. I almost never buy swimwear, and rarely use it, so to have something that is timeless and will work for me as my body changes (as I'm pregnant right now) is so cool. I love the texture, I love the designs and am so grateful this brand exists.

The only downside (why a 4 instead of 5 stars) is the level of care it takes to wash the swimsuit. I didn't realize that before purchasing it. You have to wash it immediately after use, hand wash, with gentle detergent. This is kind of difficult to do when I'm traveling, so that is a bit of a drawback to me.

  • I love the feel and the colors. I will say though, I have been wearing bathing suits made from this type of fabric by another brand for years, so the Youswim novelty is lost on me. I will also say, I appreciate that one size fits all, but that feels like a little bit of a schtick to me. I don't see what they'd lose by offering more sizes. I, for one, could use a little bit more fabric.

    More sizes.

  • I love this brands mission. The idea of inclusive and sustainable swimwear is something I am a big fan of. I bough a 2 piece suit and was SO excited. When i originally got it i hated it. I have bigger hips and "hip dips" and I felt like the bottoms squeezed my skin making it look really unflattering. I kept it and tried it on trying to adjust the bottoms, I do like it more now, and its a high quality swim suit that feels comfortable to run and play in. I do like the idea of it, its just not largely flattering on my body.
