Reviews mention

  • Cleaner-label ingredient list
  • Satisfying dark chocolate flavor
  • Lower-sugar sweet treat
  • Vegan-friendly product options
  • Occasionally dry peanut butter filling
  • Chalky, dusty peanut texture
  • Bitterness for sweeter palates
  • Palm oil ingredient concern

Unreal Snacks wins praise in reviews for tasting like upgraded versions of Reese’s, M&M’s, and Mounds—especially the dark chocolate peanut butter cups, coconut bars, and crispy quinoa gems—while using cleaner ingredients and less sugar. However, critiques surface around dryness in some nut-butter cups, occasional chalky or dusty textures, strong dark-chocolate bitterness for sweet-tooth palates, use of palm oil, and inconsistent flavor in gems; several reviewers also note that it doesn’t always replicate classic candies and can disappoint those expecting exact dupes.

  • The coconut minis have a hold on my family! These have hit such a sweet spot with our Mounds fan family. The bags don’t stay around for long.

  • One of my all time favorite better for you candy brands. I’m obsessed with the chocolate coconut bars. Everything I’ve tried from them tastes just as satisfying as conventional candy. I love the peanut butter cups too! A little expensive but to be expected for a premium brand. They are sometimes on sale at Whole Foods :)

  • Even though I haven't tried many of Unreal Snack's products, I've tried and really enjoyed their Dark Chocolate Coconut Minis. They are tasty, convenient, and also a more healthy options on the market.

  • I love coconut so I had to try the Unreal Coconut bars - much better than the conventional brand and super clean and perfect amount of sweetness. I like to get the big bag at Costco when they are on sale.

  • These are SO good – the dark chocolate tastes real and doesn't have a stevia flavor like some of the better-for-you sweets do... my only complaint is that there aren't a ton of pretzels for the size of the bag.

  • UNREAL! I've tried the Unreal dark chocolate coconut snacks - they have a large bag at Costco. Anytime I see them, I grab a bag and it lasts maybe a week in my house. It's the perfect amount of sweetness, not overly sweet at all, and I love the coconut. If you're a big fan of coconut, this is a perfect addition to your fridge.

I wish the brand was more readily available - I've only seen the brand at Whole Foods and Costco only sells the one product.

  • While candy may not be the healthiest food item, Unreal candies are healthier than other available options. Unreal products have 40% less sugar and use sustainably sourced/fair trade ingredients. Their dark chocolate candies are vegan and are colored with natural ingredients like beet root and carrot juice. The Unreal products I tried were yummy and tasted no different then the less healthy alternatives.

  • I do not get the hype, can someone explain it to me? I tried both the dark chocolate peanut butter cup and the dark chocolate almond butter cup. I was expecting to love it, but instead my mouth felt super dry. The middle part (the almond butter or peanut butter) that is supposed to be soft / oily due to the natural oil of the peanut or almond, is actually dry. It's like a dry powder. Like what the hell is this.

  • Huge fan of peanut butter cups so to find a low sugar alternative is always a good thing. Some of the "healthy candy" brands tend to taste like crayons, where Unreal does a pretty solid job of not tasting... crayon-y! I bought a bag of the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and ate them a little too quickly. I did manage to save 2 to photograph for Thingtesting!

  • I am not a chocolate fan but I totally love UNREAL. My favorate is the dark chocolate caramel peanut nouget bars. I have a box of the 0.67 oz bars and it takes so much will power not to eat multiple bars at a time. I like that Unreal ususes better for you ingredennts. I would suggest unreal as an alternative to traditional chocolate snacks. It is amazing thaUNREAL a better for you snacks taste better than anything else out there.

  • I’ve always been a chocolate lover however ever since starting my weight loss and fitness journey I wanted to eat less sugary food. This is when I discovered unreal chocolate. My favorite go to chocolate whenever I am craving something sweet but I do want to stay healthy and in my deficit would have to be the mini coconut chocolate covered bars. These are very delicious and it’s as if I am eating a bounty bar but for less the calories.

  • This brand is NOT gluten free. I have a severe allergy to wheat and after eating half the bag of their chocolate gems I had a full celiac response. I can tell you the difference between mere cross contamination and a complete exposure. This tells me that they do not even clean their equipment to minimize the exposure to allergens. I know they can pay for the gluten free certification based off of their ingredients alone, but they obviously are not concerned with providing a product that is safe for sensitive consumers.

  • My brain wants to think of M&M when eating them but they are better. There is more crunch to each bite, healthier amount of sugar and better quality. I love it as a snack and would recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth. Strangely tastes good in my yogurt. It’s worth trying for a road trip, snack in the office or at home. Great gift!

  • Unreal chocolates satisfy my sweet tooth (when I have one) without the usual guilt. The ingredient list is impressively simple and clean, which I really respect. While not overly sweet, they deliver just enough indulgence with quality cacao notes. Great for those moments when I want chocolate that aligns with my wellness goals.

  • I love the chocolate coconut bars! I buy these at Costco and love how they are affordable, healthy, and only a few ingredients! They are sooo tasty!!

  • I really wanted to like the Unreal brand, as I love chocolate candy but always try to find better options. For me, the Unreal snacks tend to be unlike the "real thing" which leaves me feeling like I indulged without really enjoying.

  • I really like that use better ingredients but would really only purchase them if they were on sale. I don’t think the price point is worth it.

  • The coconut ones in the blue packaging taste unreal. Literally addicting. Among the top brands for healthy chocolate alternatives that are out there. However, I think it's only worth it to buy the big bag of these from Costco, the price for a regular sized bag is kinda unreal as well. Lives up to the name...

  • Unreal Snacks are a total game-changer! They offer the perfect balance of deliciousness and healthier ingredients, without sacrificing taste. The candy options are rich in flavor, yet free from artificial junk, and I love that they use real, clean ingredients. Whether it's their chocolate or nut butter cups, each snack feels indulgent but guilt-free. A must-try for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth while still making a mindful choice!
