Reviews mention

  • Effective acne-clearing serums
  • Noticeably brighter, smoother skin
  • Minimalist, clinical formulations
  • Clear, straightforward labeling
  • Sticky serum textures
  • Potential irritation from actives
  • Hit-or-miss product efficacy
  • Confusing product naming

The Ordinary earns strong reviews for effective, ingredient-forward skincare that improves texture, hydration, acne, and glow—with standouts like Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Reviews also flag weaknesses: some formulas feel sticky, can pill or irritate sensitive skin, high actives may overwhelm newbies, results can be hit-or-miss, and product naming/usage can be confusing.

  • Some of my all time favorite skincare products

  • I absolutely love the ordinary and how they’ve made high quality skincare accessible at a reasonable price point. Their copper peptides, caffeine serum, hyaluronic acid, retinol, glycolic acid, and cleanser all have worked wonders. The reason I dropped their score is that sadly I won’t be able to use them due to their Zionist affiliation

  • I have to work fast to spread this because it absorbs into skin very quickly. I do 3-4 small applications to cover my face. I have been diluting it by directly spreading it over the water that is still on my face after cleansing. That makes it easier to spread as opposed to when applying to completely dry skin. I estimate this brings down the niacinamide concentration closer to 5% which is sufficient and reduces irritation from high niacinamide percentage. I apply it after every cleanse, twice per day. I also use it under tretinoin, azelaic acid, lactic acid, moisturizer, and sunscreen. It works well with everything. At my rate of usage, less than 1/4 tsp per application, this will last me about three months.

  • Great products at affordable prices. I have tried the caffeine eye cream and it did not irritate my face at all. Haven’t see much a difference in my dark circles but I’m going to continue to use it!

  • Almost every piece of skincare I use is from The Ordinary. I think where they sometimes fall down is their instructions aren’t obviously clear, and getting the last drop from the squeezies can be tricky, but I do know you can speak to someone about the former and they will support you, so the support is there. Shipping direct from Deciem also tends to be slow, and I hate going third party, so that’s annoying, but there’s always alternatives!

  • serums are very affective!

    Works for The Ordinary
  • You simply can't beat these prices for the quality! The hyaluronic acid is a staple in my skincare routine.

  • Definitely hit or miss. The hyaluronic acid is really thick and doesn’t pair well with other brands. Good Molecules has a great formula at a comparable price. Their caffeine eye serum and glycolic acids are great quality and very effective. Trial and error with this brand, unfortunately!

  • Overall, it’s a truly revolutionary brand. I appreciate their range, simplicity, and affordable prices. Currently and don’t use much of their products, but have tested many solid or great products over the years. Some highlights are the red aha/bha mask, a bargain for its performance, the powder vitamin c, which was the best vitamin c I ever used - my face would become instantly brighter and smoother (I just couldn’t adapt to the powder formulation, as is not very convenient), and the niacinimide, that has a pleasant formulation, and a great cost-benefit (the only one products that still have a space in my current skincare routine).

  • Niacinamide serum: been using this for years and its never failed me. It helps clear my skin up even after getting lazy with my skincare routine. I have combo skin, but I think this is a great product for all, if not, most skin types. Daily Moisturizer: I expected more from this product, as the last step to my skin care routine, I expected a nice appealing finish, perhaps glowy even, but it had more of a matte finish, had to rub it multiple times on my face for the product to sink in or my face was looking white for 5-10 minutes.

  • Great products at an affordable price point. I love their Niacinamide (and actually notice a difference in the look / feel of my skin after using).

  • the salicylic acid works wonders for my pimple scars. flattens pimples and fades scars quick so I don't get much of a chance to pick them and make it worse. caffeine eye serum doesn't completely demolish my all nighter dark circles but I can tell they're much lighter. hyaluronic acid doesn't really work for me though, half of it sits on my skin and rubs off my face when I put on moisturizer. the moisturizer is good though, once a day keeps me hydrated in dry winter

  • I've tried several products from The Ordinary over the years - the buffet serum, rose hip seed oil, aha/bha exfoliating peeling mask, hyaluronic acid serum, and glycolic acid toner. I really like the concept of the Ordinary and the price point, but honestly, I've found all of their products underwhelming. The serums I've tried were especially lackluster - I use both of them (HA and buffet) for many many months and I didn't see any signs of improvement, at all. I likely won't purchase from the Ordinary again, not because their products are bad by any means, but I'd rather spend more money trying to find more effective products than continue to spend $7-15 on products that are consistently ineffective for my skin.

  • High-Quality Ingredients and great prices? Sold. Almost unheard of tbh.

  • For me, this product did not do much for my skin. I do respect the company for the simplicity to understand what each product is, and the pricing is fantastic. I enjoy companies that are accessible financially. I look for more exciting packaging, which is why I did not continue to use this product. I think this product is good those who want high quality products at an affordable price!

  • I really enjoy using the glycolipid cream cleanser! Out of all their products, it's my favourite. The texture is silky and soft, which feels great on my skin. I also appreciate the natural scent.

  • I use their niacinamide serum. So affordable and works well!
