The Ordinary earns strong reviews for being effective and ingredient-focused: many users report clearer, smoother, more hydrated skin from staples like Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Reviews also flag weaknesses: some formulas feel sticky or pill, certain actives (retinoids, vitamin C, high-percentage acids) can irritate or be too harsh, results can be hit-or-miss by product or skin type, and the range can be confusing without research.

Functional and affordable skincare that's good to use
There are few products from the ordinary that i believe are overhyped or i did not use the entirety of. I particularly enjoy their moisturizers. I've never used a product that breaks me out or has not affected the changes it describes on the website.

Love their azelaic acid and totally worth the price. Didn’t love the hylauronic acid though but at the price who cares

I have purchased the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution multiple times. I really love both of these products because I see results quickly. They feel great on the skin and work with my sensitive skin. I love the price too!
the ordinary is a super affordable line with great ingredients. i would recommend purchasers to do some research about their specific skin needs and choose items that they really need, because i've purchased lots of things that don't seem to work or change my skin, while others are extremely effective. their buffet serum is a holy grail item for me, while things like the azalaic acid or vitamin c didn't seem to make an impact.

I’m so glad this brand came to the market. They offer quality products at affordable prices. I’ve used the lactic acid, glycolic acid, & aha + bha combo. I have sensitive skin, but I haven’t had a bad reaction to any of their products.
Love this brand - effective, affordable chemicals without the brand markup.
The Ordinary serums are pure skincare magic! Affordable, effective, and easy to incorporate into your routine. They're like little bottles of radiance that work wonders for your skin. A must for any skincare enthusiast.
My wife is a big fan of this brand - they make sustainable high quality products that don't break the bank.
I love how accessible the products are
The Ordinary completely changed my entire skincare routine. I struggle with horrible hormonal acne around my chin and uneven dry and oily patches of skin. I use the AHA 30%+ BHA 2% peeling solution once every 3 weeks in order to even out my complexion and balance out my dead skin on my face. The packaging is beautiful, the ingredients are clean and simple, and the product is ridiculously affordable.

I live the ordinary because they have products for every skin problem and they are really easy to use. Most of the time it's not complex skincare with too much chemical ingredients, they're simple! And also they're not expensive at all.
I really wanted to love The Ordinary. I’ve tried so many different products from this brand and each time I’m so excited to see the benefits and changes, but none have really wowed me with the results. They are still nice to use though, and are very affordable. There is a wide variety of products and the website has detailed information about each one. They actually have a really good returns policy where you can get a refund if you’re not happy. I haven’t done that because I wanted to keep using them to see if I’d get the results. But it’s a good option if you’re unsure. It’s worth a try. A lot of other people seem to have really good results with the products.
Some of the products are great and make the low prices totally worth it but I do find their packaging makes products go bad somewhat quickly

One of my favorite skincare lines. It is super affordable and has very straightforward and simple products. I appreciate that I can try multiple products to find exactly what works best for me without having to spend a ton of money. My favorites that I keep buying over and over are the niacinamide (good for chilling out my oily/acne-prone skin) and the caffeine eye solution (depuffs my eyes every single morning and allows makeup to go on easily on top after it dries). I also have the squalane face wash that i use when my skin is acting a bit more dry.

I do truly appreciate the affordability of the Ordinary's products, but I definitely wish there was more direction in terms of usage for different levels of melanin.
This brand is totally worth the price and it's the first brand to make skin care affordable, however if you have really bad acne, this isn' the brand for you. I would recommend the niacinamide or the oat cleansing bomb.

Totally affordable for the most part. I feel like you need to have Google on deck when you're buying from The Ordinary. I had no idea what Niacinamide was when I first bought it from Ulta. Because of the nature of The Ordinary, you will need to learn about what each product does. Unlike most skincare companies, unless you buy something like their multi-peptide serum, which has multiple components in it. I know the serum to be called "Buffet" however I was watching YouTube the other day and heard that they were changing them name of Buffet. I have Buffet with copper. I actually have a lot of products but again, before I started watching influencers and content creators on YouTube, I had no clue what a lot of their products did. I am weirded out by one of the products and the name is escaping me at the moment. I know that it's bright red and you can only leave it on for 10 minutes tops. It definitely brings out the tingle. I think it's a resurfacing serum that you should only use once a week. I could be remembering wrong about the amount of times you should use it, but the important thing is that it works and you can know it's working. I think it's an AHA and BHA chemical exfoliator. Sorry that I'm being a bad reviewer in that I can't remember the name. You cannot miss it though. Google "The Ordinary red serum" and I'm sure you'll find it. Back to cost. A lot of items, if not most, are under $15. The multi-peptide serum is over $30 but you're paying for that blend of peptides and amino acids. Remember that most of The Ordinary's products are one beneficial item like Niacinamide. Well, the Niacinamide has Zinc with it, but that's because zinc helps enhance the benefits of niacinamide. Are you tired of me saying the word niacinamide yet? These products are straight forward, inexpensive, simple, and worth it. If you take the time to educate yourself regarding your own skin needs and what would be best for you, which I think is beneficial anyway. Watch a few YouTube videos. Educate yourself. Then you can choose quality inexpensive products that don't have fragrance or hype... Or extra things that don't actually help. Did you know that buying products with collagen won't help your skin create collagen? You are better off eating a good diet and/or taking a collagen supplement if you want to help your skin. Collagen molecules are too large to get through all of the layers of our skin to be of a true benefit to us. The more you know, right? I had no idea a year ago. Other companies will market to people who want to return their youthfulness but seriously, products that have collagen... They don't hurt you but they aren't giving you the benefits you are seeking. You don't have to worry about false marketing with The Ordinary from my point of view. What you see is what you get. That's refreshing.
Some products are better than others but fantastic for the price! I woods recommend the AHA BHA serum for large pores. The hair products on the other hand have not worked for me.
The Ordinary is a really great, affordable skincare brand. They have many good quality skincare formulas, that would normally be a much higher price tag. My favorite product of theirs is the Hyaluronic Acid, it was very hydrating and I used it for over two years. One thing to be cautious of is if you have hyperpigmentation or a darker skin tone, some products can be more harmful than helpful. Make sure you do your research on which products will work best for you and how to layer the active ingredients.
