Reviews mention

  • Vivid, nostalgic flavors
  • Lower‑sugar candy formulas
  • Convenient portion packs
  • Vegan, plant‑based options
  • Extremely sticky texture
  • Inconsistent chew quality
  • Notable sweetener aftertaste
  • Potential gi discomfort

SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • They are tasty candies and I would purchase them again, but definitely a bit pricey!

  • These give me just enough to hit my sweet tooth without overindulging!

Need to bring back sodalicious flavours from the 90s! YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! BUT the line of sweets they have created is amazing and hits every craving!

  • I love these as a healthier alternative when I'm craving certain sweets. I still feel great afterwards and have satisfied my craving!

  • Really good gummy candies with no or low sugar. You really wouldn't know that they are even healthy when you taste them.

Some have artificial sweeteners, which I'm not a fan of, but they still taste great and that's how they make them low sugar, so it's a worthwhile trade off.

  • I buy these for my kids lunchbox treats to replace high sugar candies. They don’t miss the “real thing” at all. The Swedish fish are our favorites!

  • I'm a big sweets person, so when I discovered there was a brand out there that could satisfy my sweet tooth without harboring my fitness goals, I had to try them. Almost every variation they release does not taste much different than the sugar packed candies that I've had. A few were offputting and I probably wouldn't repurchase, but for the most part, these are my absolute go to when I'm needing a sweet fix without the extra junk.

  • Love everything I’ve tried from Smart Sweets. The mouth feel is pretty close to regular candy but not exact. Everything is so expensive though. It’s kinda crazy. It’s a special treat but not a regular thing for me.

  • These are my go-to snacks for lower sugar treats. They all taste great and the texture is so close to the originals. Highly recommend - a bit pricey, but maybe that’s a good thing for those of us trying to keep our snacking in check.

  • LOVE smart sweets. They are a great alternative to regular Candy if you are looking to be healthier

Yummy and healthy alternative to regular candy! Many flavors to choose from and they are honestly all great

  • In terms of flavor, I think that these sweets are close to perfect. They have really strong fruit flavors, the perfect amount of tartness, and are an excellent recreation of the gummy candies we got as kids. I'm impressed with the level of sweetness and lack of negative aftertaste they were able to achieve with this smaller amount of sugar.

They tend to get stuck in your teeth, but maybe that's part of the authenticity.

  • Yummy! Got these on sale at WF and they lived up to the hype!

  • I regularly buy the peach rings. I don't love the other products. The text is definitely different and softer/chewier and kind of sticks to your mouth. I don't know if it substitutes other candy but its a good treat for a slightly better for you option.

  • I bought the gummy rings from WholeFoods with high hopes as had seen a lot of hype around this brand. I can say that I did not love the artificial flavour of theses gummies.

    Feedback

If the taste wasn't so artificial I would've loved this brand but I couldn't really jump on board because the taste is my first priority when picking sweets.

  • I like the peach rings and smart fish they make and that they are low sugar. I also like that they package the sweets in smaller bags- that way I don’t find myself eating a large amount of candies.

    Feedback

At first, the texture of the sweets were a bit surprising. I expected them to be softer but they were a bit dense. The texture isn’t bad but is different than the name brand gummy candies.

  • The purple is my favourite, I also really like the yellow one ! The peach is not good tho

  • Cool concept and I like how there are a lot of different products to try. It can be a little frustrating to have such a limited amount of product within each package. Overall great taste and love how it is a better option for my family.

    Feedback

Expensive for not a lot of product.

  • Just received three different versions in my Christmas stocking, thanks Santa! The gummy bears and the caramel chews have been a perfect treat as I come down off of the holiday splurging. Not as crazy about the sour worms for some reason (weird aftertaste) but am excited to keep the other two in my back pocket for roadtrips and special treats/etc.

    Feedback

Love the small packaging size to help with portion control!

  • Purchased these in the sour gummies and fish.

    Feedback

Well you can tell they aren’t your typical sweets. But that’s the point right? These are very tasty but as with all of these types of sweets there is a slightly odd after taste. My favorites are the sour gummies and fish, worth a shot to satisfy that craving with less of a negative impact.

  • Good idea in theory, but isn't a good replacement for the actual candy. Leaves a bad aftertaste and texture is unpleasant.
