  • Vegan, plant‑based options
  • Extremely sticky texture
  • Inconsistent chew quality
  • Notable sweetener aftertaste
  • Potential gi discomfort

SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • Great if you need a sugar fix but are eating low sugar. They don’t taste exactly like the real Thing and they are expensive for the amount you get.

  • They're not as bad as you think they'd be for what the nutrition is but they're not good enough for me to justify the price. There's just something a little bit off about the texture and the flavor isn't quite identical to the candy it's trying to dupe. I'd much rather buy the regular candy that's much cheaper and then just portion control what I eat.

  • If you are someone who loves sweets but needs to cut down their Sugar Smart sweets is for you. I love how they have very classic nostalgic known types of candy substitutes. My favorite is the original Swedish Fish and my pro tip for everyone is to purchase their smartsweets at Whole Foods because they have a proprietary formula that they sell there making the candy taste better than in other markets.

  • I feel like you can taste that these are definitely healthier than regular candy, not what I was expecting, didn’t love the flavor

  • Love that it’s low calories and net carbs, but not quite sweet enough to fix a candy craving

  • These are pretty decent for a healthy sweet treat. They take SO long to eat because they are so chewy. They have a decent flavor, but really get stuck in your teeth.

  • I don't love the taste or ingredients in these.. but if you're looking for 'fun' candy to try at the movies, this is a better alternative.

  • Certainly if you live gummy gmcs does and care about not consuming a ton of sugar, these are great. Tastes just as good as a normal candy bag, and not overly expensive.

  • A good alternative if you need a sweet but want a healthier option

  • I LOVE these low sugar candy alternatives! They’re a bit pricier than regular candy, but taste just as great. My only complaint is that they’re super sticky and get stuck to your teeth more than regular candy. Otherwise, these are a must when I travel or go to the movies!

  • Bro terrible flavor but really not the best

  • These are pretty good for being a “healthier” alternative. You can still taste the Splenda or the other alternative sweetener they use but they are pretty good overall!

  • These are some of the better lower sugar gummie products i have tried. The taste is okay and doesn’t have too strong of a stevia flavor. They are difficult to chew and the packages are small.

  • The most delicious thing I ever try

  • Really great alternative to real candies. Love the taste. Great packing and great price. Would recommand!

  • I love that this brand has no dyes or corn syrup. Which is a top priority when buying products for my family. They have a variety of flavors ,that are similar and like the ones you jave previously purchased. But smart sweets has better ingredients and better products overall.

  • I get these for my kids and love that there’s an alternative to standard candy for them. Only complaint I have about these is they go rock hard quickly. They are fresh for a week but after that, they turn solid and you either have to suck on them or toss em. So my suggestion would be to only buy if you are planning to consume right away. Besides that, they are a great alternative but for sure harder, not as soft as a standard gummy and not as satisfying.
