Reviews mention

  • Long-wear liquid eyeshadow performance
  • Silky second-skin highlighter texture
  • Highly pigmented eyeshadow payoff
  • Shiny, reflective plumping gloss
  • Inconsistent eyeshadow palette blendability
  • Dry, smudgy eyeliner formula
  • Potentially drying lip oils
  • Awkward squeeze-tube gloss applicator

r.e.m. beauty earns mixed reviews: the brand delivers striking, long‑wear liquid eyeshadows (notably Fembot and Milkyway) and luminous highlighters, but struggles with inconsistent formulations and fussy components. Reviews praise pigmented shadows, a standout plumping gloss, and sleek packaging, while criticizing dry or smudgy eyeliners and mascaras, patchy eyeshadow palettes, drying lip oils, chemical‑leaning scents in complexion products, and impractical squeeze‑tube gloss packaging—making performance highly hit‑or‑miss.

  • The r.e.m. beauty Interstellar Highlighter Topper is a versatile, silky-creamy powder that provides a smooth, multi-dimensional glow with a second-skin feel. Ideal for cheeks, eyes, and body, it offers a buildable sheen that can range from a subtle sheen to a high-shine finish. Love it!

  • Good quality and easy to use clean products

  • I got their new lip oil from their Wicked collab because I had been seeing a lot of hype on their products and the collab from last year, especially for their lip products. This is a ph adapting product which means it appears clear but then after you wait awhile it "Adjusts" to your perfecrt shade. On me, it's a pinkish shade that looks pretty natural, with a really glossy finish. This is a lip oil but it looks really glossy without feeling sticky or annoying.

  • I LOVE HOW PIGMENTED THEIR EYES SHADOWS ARE IN THEIR PALLET. Follow my tiktok @maddiediaries to see me try out this products and more like it.

  • I got the lip gloss in cherry cola. Lasted me for a whole, had no weird smell, and it manages to apply nicely. It also wasn't sticky. The color pay off is also really nice and complimented my skin tone.

  • I’ve tried the new lip oil in the shade raspberry drip 🫐 I really liked it so hydrating and beautiful shine☺️💛✨ The applicator is also very fun to use.

  • Love their liquid midnight shadows, "Fembot" shadow is super cool as a single shadow !!

  • The highlights and lipstick are okay. However, if it compared to the price, it soo expensive

  • I have two of the liquid glitter eyeshadows (Fembot & Milkyway) and a plumping glitter lipgloss (Jelly Sandals). I absolutely adore the liquid glitter shadow formula. The applicator is just the right size for distributing glitter gel and is very easy to move around on the eyelid. As for the glitter gloss, I just was not a fan of how tiny and cheap that plastic container is. I would have liked a doe-foot applicator for gloss application instead of the top dispenser. The gloss itself is a beautiful formula and the glitters are very reflective, which I prefer!

Packaging is very small and feels cheap.

  • This was a little disappointing. The packaging is super cute, but the products were largely hit or miss. The eyeshadows were terrible. So messy and hard to work with. The eyeliner was fine at first, but if I’m not wearing primer, they will transfer to my under-eyes. Stay away from the lip stains. They don’t work well at all and emphasize all the dryness on your lips. The lipsticks are not bad. The Tiramisu is that perfect ‘90s brown lipstick. I contacted customer service to return the lip stain and eye shadows, and it took them forever. I had to follow-up, but they took care of my return and refund in the end.

I just wish the formulations were are great as the packaging.

  • I LOVE all r.e.m. eye makeup products. The "At the borderline" eyeliner, lengthening mascara, and every eyeshadow palette are amazing quality, and my eye makeup stays on all night! Love Ari and her aesthetic.

  • I have tried three products - the foundation, the blurring primer, and the calming face mist. All were poor quality and not worth the price. yes the packaging and aesthetics are cute, but the quality of the makeup is so bad that it shocks me that influencers have had so much good to say. the foundation did not blend well for me - despite using the primer, the foundation became flaky and peeled, and my skin was moisturized and generally isn't dry. the primer smells like chemicals and also didn't "blur" anything as stated. my old elf primer, which was half the price, was far better. the face mist also smelled like chemicals and didn't feel cooling or skin soothing... nowhere near worth the $24. Take the reviews on the rem site with a grain of salt. seems like AG superfans will hype her up no matter what. I am a fan of AG's music but her makeup brand has been a disappointment.

  • I really liked the liquid eyeshadow I purchased, but the lip oil I purchased was awful. The lip oil made my lips so incredibly dry, I went back to Ulta the next day to return it. The matte liquid eyeshadow is a bit hard to get used to because it is so so pigmented but once you have it on, it lasts really well. The line seemed really hit or miss to me based on what I purchased and swatched in store. I liked the packaging and branding, though!

I think the products could be more consistent and well formulated.

  • I bought a variety of products from r.e.m bad have mixed reviews. The plumping gloss is fabulous and by far the best product in the line - I would give it a 10/10. I also like the liquid shadow but use it as a highlight rather than a eyeshadow (8.5/10) The eyeshadow pallet is good (7/10) - nothing to rave about and I would likely not rebuy. However the eyeliner and mascara are terrible in my opinion (2/10). Both are super dry, clumpy and not precise. Customer service is also a nightmare- honestly the worst customer service I have had in a long long time. If these were readily available at an Ulta or Sephora I would say you can give them a try but with the terrible customer service I would say this makeup line isn’t worth the effort.

The customer service is terrible, shipping times are very very long and products just aren't great.

  • They make it extremely difficult to return products. Ask you to email them to initiate a return but no one respond. I’ve sent multiple different emails but still nothing. It’s been over 1 week. Don’t bother buying from them.

  • I love Ariana Grande and I was so exited to try the brand. I tried the lipstick, lip oil and lip balm and I love the color, consistency and feeling of all three. It’s perfect for gifting or to just buy and keep for yourself!🤍

    I bought this!
  • i have two rem beauty glosses & the eyeliner pencil and to be honest i’m not impressed :( i tried to like them but i just can’t. first of all the lip gloss shades look cute (hence two stars instead of one) but they don’t stay on very well. the formula seems to be quite bad in quality. also i don’t like the fact that you have to squeeze the gloss out, a sponge tip would’ve been much more practical. the eyeliner pencil also seems poor in quality because it fades away so quickly and smudges under my eyes. sorry but this was the worst celebrity makeup brand i have tried so far, i was expecting better

  • Short answer is I love rem beauty. I always look forward to the new drops and I make them a celebration. While I am indeed an Ari fan and I do love the connection to her this line brings me, I also genuinely enjoy the line itself. My two favorite things about the products are that they are vegan and infused with lots of exciting ingredients. Also, some of my go to products come in absolutely gorgeous colors (fembot, miss neptune or jelly sandals, anyone?). I love the lengthening mascara, the eyebrow pencil, highlighters, lashes (although a bit pricey), sparkly lip glosses, face mist and the eye balm. I can’t wait to buy the concealer too! Oh and the lipsticks in those cute astronaut helmets are amazing too! With all of that said though and with all of the love in the world to this company/Ari, I can’t say that there haven’t been any misses. I do suspect that in order to make the formulas vegan, performance was sacrificed for certain products. I say this lovingly as a plant based person myself. I would say the biggest let down has been the eye shadows palettes. They are useable and not a complete bust but come on, for $24 dollars one would like to think folks could do better. I have found that the formulas do not blend very well and I have actively struggled to pick up the pigment at times. It’s too bad because some of those shades are gorgeous. The eye shadow gloss, the blotting papers, lip balm, the eclipse lip/blush sticks and a couple of the matte shades of the lip glosses were let downs for me too. Reasons for this included price, poor formulas or just pointlessness. Some of the other products I’ve tried I either did like but just wasn’t obsessed with or just weren’t products I would regularly use. Some of those products were the the lip liners, lip stains, lip oils and the eyeliner crayon. I liked the utmost importance lip gloss but it does hurt my lips as it is very plumping and it’s pricey too. I have a mixed relationship with the liquid eyeliner (great liquid formula but not my favorite applicator tip). Other products I felt more or less indifferent about. I really hope I am being fair to Ari and the whole team because I do support their overall presence in the beauty community! I wish there would be less brutal criticism of her brand within that space but there is indeed unfortunately some merit to the criticism. But again, I overall do love the brand and the products that I love, I really really really love!!! 🩵
