  • Sustainable bamboo construction
  • Soft yet durable texture
  • Impressively lint-free finish
  • Attractive, recyclable packaging
  • Less plush than competitors
  • Occasionally thin sheets
  • Smaller, shorter rolls
  • Slightly rougher feel

Reel earns strong reviews as a sustainable, bamboo-based toilet paper that works: it’s consistently described as soft enough, strong, absorbent, and lint-free, with many users switching permanently. Reviews also flag weaknesses—several find it less plush than top national brands, occasionally thin or a bit rough, with smaller rolls—and note some prefer a softer, thicker feel.

  • Excellent paper and love how sustainable it is!

  • I like a thicker toilet paper, but I still use this one because it's eco-friendly.

  • Tried a few rolls to start, then subscribed. We love the eco-friendly alternative to standard toilet paper. Additionally, Reel's commitment to the environment follows through to the packaging. We like the usual features of good toilet paper, texture and absorbance. And a huge added benefit is the absence of "toilet paper dust". The paper dust that accumulates from the national brand papers has become a nightmare. For several years now, I've been dusting down the woodwork, millwork and baseboards in our WCs at least twice weekly. It's dirty and unsightly. There is no paper dust with Reel's bamboo. I adore this product, am a committed consumer and recommend it to anyone who will listen.

  • I loved it I shared it with family. It lasted a while and the box it came in was durable as well. The main thing that brought me to it is that they’re a black owned company and the everything they packaged with was recycled material. It really got the job done. I have heard from family that it’s a little to rough for them but I have found it to be fine.

  • This is fantastic toilet paper that is sustainably made from bamboo instead of trees. Bamboo is a highly regenerative plant. Therefore, it’s much better to create toilet paper out of bamboo, than trees. I bought Reel toilet paper from target, but you can also buy it directly from their website. Reel is not the plushest toilet paper, but it certainly wasn’t the roughest on my skin either.

  • Great product. An awesome sustainable option. It’s not as plush as a luxury toilet paper but definitely gets the job done and is a great alternative.

It’s probably not as plushy as other toilet paper but I don’t feel bad using more of it so I don’t think it’s a deal breaker

  • not a thrilling purchase as ads had display. Not well made.

Not well made. Not worth your money.

  • Love to mission, but the TP is coarse and doesn't match up to the non-environmental TP.

Softness and ply could be better.

  • Amazing TP! I definitely will be trying out the Paper towels!

  • My husband wasn't sure he was going to like it, but once we made the switch and tried it out, he loved it! He's more picky about toilet paper than I am, so I was happy it got a thumbs up. And we LOVE the packing for the toilet paper. It feels so fancy to us.

  • I think I've found my Christmas present for friends and family this year. Everyone will get a box of Reel toilet paper with info about saving the environment and about where to buy it in their community. Wow! Saved me a lot of work this year. Thanks!

  • Look no more for lint free bathroom tissue. Reel had me covered since before the pandemic and has never missed a beat with their quick delivery.

  • Using sustainable products is very important to us, but we were concerned about the efficacy of the toilet paper product. My husband and I love the texture and absorbency, the clean feeling with use. The subscription delivery is also very convenient. We wouldn't use anything else!

A fluffier version for folks that suffer from hemorrhoids, or other genital area pain would make the product more accessible to everyone, but like we I said before--it works wonderfully for us!

  • Five-star TP, but I can’t stand that each roll comes individually wrapped, so overall it feels like a three-star product for me. I prefer the Reel paper to the “regular” stuff you get at the grocery store, but not having to unwrap each roll individual is more important to me so I’ll go back to regular grocery-store TP. (And this is supposed to be a more environmentally friendly alternative… Why do something as wasteful as wrapping each roll with more paper? I don’t care that it’s recyclable and compostable – it’s still wasteful. And according to their customer service, they wrap each roll individually because of “health and safety concerns as well as for transportation”. But I’m able to order normal TP online and get that delivered, and those rolls are not individually wrapped, so this makes zero sense to me.) I’m also kind of embarrassed to have individually wrapped rolls visible in our bath room when we have people over, so this feels like way more work and trouble than it’s worth. I’d definitely make the switch to Reel 100 % if they just stopped the individual wrapping. (And same with the paper towels, if only they sold them in packages of less than 12 – that’s like a 20-year supply of paper towels for our household.) So in sum: my favorite TP but that doesn’t outweigh the inconvenience and embarrassment of having each roll individually wrapped.

Stop wrapping each TP roll individually
