Reel earns strong reviews as a sustainable, bamboo-based toilet paper that works: it’s consistently described as soft enough, strong, absorbent, and lint-free, with many users switching permanently. Reviews also flag weaknesses—several find it less plush than top national brands, occasionally thin or a bit rough, with smaller rolls—and note some prefer a softer, thicker feel.

Of course the main draw is that the toilet paper is sustainable, and I value that a lot. The delivery is always timely and it’s nice having basics like toilet paper on subscription so you don’t have to remember to restock. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 is because the paper is a bit rough compared to the “ultra soft” versions of typical TP, however you do get used to it. I would recommend!
The quality is amazing and does not flake off in any way. I love the brand's mission and product.
I’ve tried the toilet paper and the older version of their paper towels. I love the toilet paper and that you can get it at Target. It’s better than other eco toilet paper-doesn’t ball up, strong yet soft.
One of my favorite sustainable toilet brands. great quality and never have an issue. Sustainable packaging and great for the planet

nothing i love this brand
LOVE REEL. The toilet paper is a great quality and the subscription model can’t be beat. Not having to worry about one basic necessity is really fantastic. Customer service is great and it’s easy to modify your subscription.

Soft and durable.
never thought I would write a rave review for a toilet paper but here I am… such better quality than everything else out there, allowing my household to use way less over time. subscription is really easy to manage as well.

would love to be able to order a smaller number of paper towels in a single go, and maybe some bigger savings for long-time subscribers, but that’s about it!

This brand checks all the boxes for more - puts the planet first, doesn't sacrifice quality, great customer service, to name a few.

Love the idea behind it but in the end, found a better brand that did not have the issue of wasted material on every roll and was cheaper
Feedback
The end of the toilet paper always stuck to the roll so you were throwing away multiple sheets per roll, it felt very wasteful
Started using Reel in 2020 because I wanted to move to more sustainable home products where possible. Wasn’t sure how I would like bamboo, but found this toilet paper to be surprisingly thick, to the point that you can use fewer squares. It isn’t plush/cottony like a lot of paper brands, but it definitely has a smooth feel that doesn’t chafe.

Ultimately I switched to a competitor for two reasons: price (Reel comes out to roughly $1.30 a roll) and disappointment with the company’s actual impact. Given that they market as a “for good” company, it’s extremely difficult to figure out how much of their $$ actually goes to support sanitation-relates charities. It’s nested deep in their FAQs - $0.50 a box.

I was quite surprised by the quality at first. I didn’t expect it to be as soft as it was. Really good quality toilet paper. It’s nice, thick, super absorbent, and so much better for the environment.

I really like the idea that they used bamboo as the main material to make the toilet paper. It's more natural and organic, and it makes the planet more sustainable and affordable. Will consider repurchase it even if the price is a bit higher.

I enjoyed using this Reel toilet paper. It comes in cute and sustainable packaging which I love. The sheets are a bit too thin for me but other than that I like it. The toilet paper was soft and did the job.

It's great to have an alternative to plastic-wrapped toilet paper made out of a sustainable and quickly regenerating product like bamboo. Is it as cheap as store-bought toilet paper? No, but it's worth it to me to support an innovative approach. I also appreciate how easy it is to manage my subscription and delay a shipment if I'm not quite ready for more yet. I've also purchased the paper towels, and my only (minor) complaint is that we go through them so slowly that I wish we could order them in smaller quantities at a time (even if it were just as an add-on when ordering the TP?).

This isn't the best toilet paper I've ever tried, but it is strong enough to get the job done and soft enough not to be irritating. I really like that this is now environmentally friendly.

These bamboo paper towels are a game changer! They’re super absorbent and feel much stronger than regular paper towels, so I end up using fewer sheets. I also love that they’re made from sustainable bamboo—it’s great to have an eco-friendly option that actually works. They hold up well even when wet, making them perfect for cleaning up messes around the house. A bit pricier than traditional paper towels, but totally worth it for the quality and sustainability. Will definitely be buying again!

Love this toilet paper! It’s strong but not because it’s bonded with chemicals, like formaldehyde, but bamboo! So, this tissue cleaning the nether regions is safe and no -irritating. A bit pricey compared to conventional toilet paper but you get what you pay for, right!

We love this toilet paper! We also love that the packaging is plastic-free.

Reel, a company committed to eco-friendly solutions, offers tree-free, plastic-free bamboo toilet paper as a greener choice for households looking to reduce their carbon footprint. But does it live up to the promise? Here’s a closer look at its sustainability, quality, and overall value. Sustainability at Its Core Reel’s bamboo toilet paper is made entirely from fast-growing, renewable bamboo, making it a tree-free alternative to traditional paper products. Unlike conventional toilet paper, which contributes to deforestation, Reel’s bamboo source helps preserve forests and ecosystems. Additionally, the plastic-free packaging ensures that each roll arrives wrapped in recyclable paper, further minimizing waste. Beyond the product itself, Reel is also committed to social good. The company contributes to sanitation projects in underserved communities, helping to provide clean toilets for those in need. This adds an extra layer of impact, making every purchase a step toward both environmental and social responsibility. Quality and Performance Sustainability is essential, but so is functionality. Reel’s toilet paper is soft yet durable, offering a three-ply thickness that balances strength and comfort. It’s septic-safe, biodegradable, and free from harsh chemicals, dyes, and fragrances, making it an excellent option for sensitive skin. While some users note that it isn’t as plush as traditional premium brands, many appreciate its absorbency and the peace of mind that comes with using a sustainable product. The rolls may be slightly smaller than commercial options, but the environmental benefits outweigh this minor drawback. Final Verdict: A Worthy Eco-Friendly Swap For those looking to reduce their environmental impact without sacrificing quality, Reel’s bamboo toilet paper is a fantastic alternative. Its tree-free, plastic-free approach, combined with a commitment to social good, makes it a product worth supporting. While it may come at a slightly higher price point than traditional brands, the investment in sustainability is well worth it.
