  • Sustainable bamboo construction
  • Soft yet durable texture
  • Impressively lint-free finish
  • Attractive, recyclable packaging
  • Less plush than competitors
  • Occasionally thin sheets
  • Smaller, shorter rolls
  • Slightly rougher feel

Reel earns strong reviews as a sustainable, bamboo-based toilet paper that works: it’s consistently described as soft enough, strong, absorbent, and lint-free, with many users switching permanently. Reviews also flag weaknesses—several find it less plush than top national brands, occasionally thin or a bit rough, with smaller rolls—and note some prefer a softer, thicker feel.

  • It doesn’t feel like any different from normal toilet paper brands which is what I was afraid of

  • The paper is good quality and also good for the planet! Nice modern box design as well.

  • Great sustainable toilet paper, but kind of expensive. I purchase this with different promotions and sales, but I cannot justify buying it at full price. If the company can scale this and lower the price or sell in larger quantities for a lower per-unit price I’d purchase more often!

  • The paper itself is soft and high quality. However, 300 sheets per roll hardly qualifies as MEGA roll and doesn't justify the exorbitant price tag. Would only purchase again if on sale.

  • I like the mission of the company and want to support. The quality is there like many other 2-ply toilet paper. I realize that Reel is a little more expensive so I'll be buying more to support the cause. I hope Reel will be available at more stores like club warehouse to increase the affordability. A small suggestion - consider do away with the wrapper. I don't think it's necessary - more earth friendly that way too. I give it a 4.5 stars ( I can't do a half, so I round up to a 5!).

  • While I love the idea of sustainable toilet paper, I was not very impressed with Reel. While it gets the job done without tearing or disintegrating, it is thin and rough. I wish it was a little softer.

  • Too hard for me, although I like the sustainability concept

  • It’s not very soft as I like toilet paper to be, but the thickness of the lists helps spend less paper than I do with other brands. Feels a little overpriced though.

  • I’ve had bamboo toilet paper before and hated it. Reel, although bamboo, feels high end. It is not as soft as regular toilet paper but it actually really nice quality and lasts longer than a regular roll.

  • EDIT: This toilet paper used to be PERFECT...thick, textured, never ripped or left lint! Now the rolls in the solid boxes (as opposed to the old boxes with a cut out square on them) are absolute TRASH. Thin, no texture, rips with even the gentlest wipe, and leaves chunks of toilet paper all over. So disgusting. I went through hell during covid trying to find a good toilet paper since the previously non-linty brands (Costco and Target) changed theirs. Stocked up like crazy on Reel in the old style boxes, thought for sure "bamboo is bamboo, this will always stay the same and be great!" but nope, started running low on the old boxes and regretfully stocked up on the new solid boxes only for it to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT toilet paper thats just as awful as what Costco and Target changed to. Beyond frustrating!!! ********** I've been having a heck of a time finding non-linty toilet paper lately. Seems like each time I find a brand that doesn't leave behind too much lint, the next time I buy it the material has changed. This Bamboo toilet paper leaves NO lint whatsoever! NONE! I am beyond thrilled, and after reading about how it is made I believe the quality will be consistent each time I buy it. Wish it wasn't so pricey, but will keep an eye out for deals and stock up whenever I can.

  • reel toilet paper is absolutely fantastic! I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but it is soft and works well. I love that it is saving trees by using bamboo which there is an abundance of. Great product!

  • This is the best toilet paper I have used in my entire life!! I love the sustainability of this product being made from bamboo instead of trees. Such a great quality of toilet paper too!! Not too thin but also not too rough. AMAZING PRODUCT!!

  • This brand mission and sustainability is what really drew me to try it. I also found out later on that this company is woman owned, as well as offer many different customer service aspects. I really appreciate the the plastic free mission as well. The only reason why I took off 1 star is because, the paper claims to have more than one layer but feels abrasive and definitely acts like 1 ply. If you dont mind about your toilet luxuries than I would definitely recommend.

  • I’m obsessed with Reel. First, a black-owned brand. Yes. 2nd, subscription service so I don’t need to think about toilet paper and paper towels ever again. 3rd it’s at target now! Now I can tell all my friends and family to switch their brand. 4th the toilet paper is wrapped in paper! Now I know nothing dirty has gotten on the toilet paper before I start using it. 5th it’s bamboo. Yay sustainability.
