quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • I tried Quip and absolutely love the unboxing experience and sheer amount of content available. However, the finish is still lacking compared to other incumbent brands. Also, the toothbrush looks better in photos.

The toothbrush needs to have stronger vibrations to help clean my teeth better.

  • I got these toothbrushes for my kids and we love them. I think the refills could be less expensive, especially with brands like Gleem coming out.

  • My dentist recommended an electric toothbrush so I purchased a quip sonic toothbrush. I love that it has a built in 2 min timer and indicates when it’s time to switch sides while brushing. It makes it super easy to make sure you’re brushing long enough. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it needs AAA batteries. At the time of my purchase they had not released the rechargeable version.

  • I love my Quip toothbrush. I did have to unsubscribe because I feel like I quickly acquired a stockpile of brush heads. The water flosser is a great addition to the counter and I’m a fan of the toothpaste as well.

  • I travel a lot for work (and fun). I started using quip because of the slim design and because they had a battery operated option (they have a rechargeable option too). This is really helpful for me when I travel since carrying a backup battery with me is much more compact than bringing a charger along with me. I also liked that I got replacement tops monthly. This helped me remember to switch out my toothbrush and kept my dental hygiene routines top notch. I can't say enough good things about the product + brand.

  • This is my favorite toothbrush! I love the slim design and the colors. The only thing I don’t like is how expensive the brush head refills are.

  • I wanted to like this but I found that it gets moldy really quickly, which is not an issue with any other tooth brush I’ve had.

  • A simple, modern day toothbrush. Love the one button and how gentle it is on the teeth. My dentist has noticed a difference too!

  • I'm not a fan of quip for a few reasons: 1. the brush shape is incredibly average and feels outdated in a sea of innovative shapes, bristle heights, etc. 2. while the shaft is thin, it can get pretty slippery when your hands are wet. 3. overall, it's overhyped and just not the best on the market. Don't fall for marketing and peer pressure. Check out Suri for the best toothbrush imo! Also tried the floss because I was trying to be more sustainable but the holder is clunky and large, and not ergonomic at all. I just switched to compostable flossers instead.

  • I'm a designer and so I'm a sucker for design. Here's the thing: If you want your teeth cleaned, go back to that ugly, inconvenient drug store electric toothbrush that sits on your vanity in the bathroom, gathers toothpaste on the base and sits on an ugly stand with a plug. Just do it. Problem not solved with Quip. But thank you, next.

  • My experience with Quip toothbrush left me feeling underwhelmed, and the primary culprits were the price and subscription model. Quip positions itself as a sleek, modern toothbrush, but the price tag attached to it seems disproportionate to the benefits it offers. While the initial purchase may seem reasonable, the real kicker comes with the mandatory subscription model for replacement brush heads. It feels like a forced commitment, and the cost accumulates over time. There are comparable toothbrushes on the market that offer similar features without the burden of a subscription-based model, making Quip's pricing strategy a significant drawback. When the time came to replace my Quip toothbrush head, I hesitated to repurchase. The inconvenience of the subscription and the accumulating costs made me explore other options that provided a more straightforward and budget-friendly approach to maintaining oral hygiene. While the design and functionality of the Quip toothbrush are decent, the overall experience is overshadowed by the pricing structure and subscription model. The promise of a hassle-free, modern toothbrush experience was overshadowed by the feeling of being trapped into a commitment that didn't align with my expectations. If you're considering Quip, be prepared for a dent in your wallet and think twice about committing to their subscription service. For me, it was a one-time purchase, and I won't be returning for a second round.

  • The idea of this brand is certainly there. But after a month or so of using this product, it began to mildew. No matter what I would do, it had a disgusting smell. I stopped using it and wouldn’t try it again.

  • I've been using this brush for so long, and recently wanted to replace it with a re-chargeable one. I love that they are always improving the core product!

  • Just got this for the first time. I really like the motion that the toothbrush does. It does a great job cleaning teeth!

  • Style over substance. I got a brush for free through my dentist, and it lasted less than a year before needing to be replaced. The company obliged, but unfortunately the same issue happened again just a few months later. Also, didn't love having to use a replaceable battery and ultimately ended up switching to a rechargeable model from a different brand.

  • Quip is fantastic! Great design and great product mix built around the humble toothbrush. My children received Quip as a holiday gift and they loved the idea of this new approach to mouth care. It makes you want to do a good job with your brushing!

  • I don't use the electric toothbrush - the product I am reviewing is the refillable floss. It works just okay - the floss itself doesn't glide well around the gums and feels a little too rough on the gums. Cutting off the floss for use is also... just okay. For travel floss, there are many competing products out there, that perform a bit better. Since quip is somewhat accessible in stores like Target, this might be a little easier if you are not into online shopping as much.
