Pela Reviews

4.1

Pela earns polarized reviews: the brand’s compostable cases often protect phones through frequent drops and feel soft, grippy, and compact, yet durability and fit vary. Reviewers praise eco-credentials, cute designs, and comfortable texture, but note tearing and warping within a year, staining/discoloration, loose fits that can slip off, and incompatibility with MagSafe or stand-up wireless chargers.

  • So I’ve been an avid user of Piela phone cases and AirPod cases for the last 10 years back when it was a lot cheaper lol. The thing about these cases which is a trade-off as you know that you’re getting an environmentally safe product and it’s not gonna be a plastic case that sits in the landfill for the next 100 years but once you start using it long enough, the product starts decomposing on you so I’ve had this AirPods case for a few years now and it’s sturdy. It has stayed on it doesn’t move I’d never have to worry about pieces coming off cause it’s adhered but the keyhole or attachment area has broken so it no longer is on the ring it came with so that’s kind of annoying. I can’t attach it to anything like I previously had, but that’s the only part that that’s coming apart so I’m very happy with the product overall.

  • I was introduced to this company back in high school about 5–6 years ago, and I really loved their cases at the time. However, my loyalty has gone down since then because: The quality seems to have decreased. As you can see in the photos, the decal is already peeling off, even though I’ve had the case for less than a year. The main appeal was the environmentally friendly focus, but the only way to get a reasonable price is through the 2-for-1 deal they often run. Unfortunately, that just encourages buying more than you actually need. There are so many options now that are trendy but not timeless.

  • To start off, I really love this company’s mission. Their environmentally focused approach to creating sustainable phone cases is what initially drew me in! Such a cool and important concept! Unfortunately, the case itself didn’t live up to expectations. It felt low quality and a bit flimsy for the price point. Paying extra for MagSafe on top of an already $65 case was frustrating. It also took over two weeks to arrive, and I had a really frustrating experience trying to get updates from Customer Service. In the end, I returned the case and found alternatives. I still deeply respect what Pela stands for, I just wish the product and experience matched the vision.

  • Love a brand that supports the planet. Great sturdy cases that have been protecting my phone against gravity since day one!
