Reviews mention

  • Ingenious dual-sip spout design
  • Hygienic covered mouthpiece cap
  • Reliable cold-retaining insulation
  • Secure locking lid mechanism
  • Moisture-trapping lid components
  • Bulky, heavy large formats
  • Occasional straw detachment issue
  • Finish and coating durability concerns

Owala earns strong reviews as a highly functional, well‑insulated bottle that stays cold, doesn’t leak when locked, and features the signature FreeSip dual straw-and-chug spout with a hygienic covered mouthpiece. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some lids or stoppers trap moisture and mold, larger sizes feel heavy and don’t fit cup holders, occasional leaking or straw detachment occurs, and certain finishes or rubberized coatings wear or feel sticky over time.

  • Are you looking for a practical water bottle with a straw that isn't exposed, won't spill, features a locker function, keeps water cold for a long time, is easy to carry, fits perfectly in your car cupholder, and holds 30 oz? This was precisely what I wanted when searching for a new water bottle, and if you're after the same, don't waste time, buy your Owala now!

  • The Owala 40oz cup is a great option for staying hydrated throughout the day. It keeps drinks cold for hours, and the wide mouth makes it easy to add ice or clean. The built-in straw and comfortable handle make it super convenient to carry around. Overall, it’s durable, practical, and stylish—perfect for daily

  • Really went back and forth on whether I should hop on the Owala bandwagon, ended up getting one. Favorite water bottle I’ve owned! Love the sip and all the colors are so fun. Snap lid can be a bit tight but it loosened up over time for me.

  • really fun colors, easy to clean and relatively light compared to other water bottles. I've had it for over a year and it's held up well through many dishwasher cycles. It's never leaked on me and my toddler loves his.

  • It keeps drinks super cold, and is really sturdy metal-wise. The caps are nice because they include rubbery material to seal the top instead of just screwing on and leaking like other brands. I've put mine through a lot, and the handle has gotten looser and the straw has chipped, but the bottle itself seems indestructible.

  • I love this bottle when it actually comes time to drink out of it. The option to sip or slurp is awesome. The 32 oz is kind of awkward shape wise (it doesn't taper, so good luck fitting it into a cup holder) and it's heavy! I know anything that can hold that much water would be heavy, but the issue with this is you either have the little tab to hold it at the top (and break your fingers) or you have to wrap your hand around it. Which, sure, of course, it's a water bottle you hold. But if you have tiny hands, it can be tiring lol. I also HATE that I cannot get the sticker residue off from the unnecessary sticker on the lid. At least it doesn't spill like a Stanley.

  • We have many of these in different sizes and shapes and colors! The kids had the Harry Potter ones for camp this summer though I prefer my largest vessel for my water :)

  • I only wish I found Owala bottles sooner. They are by far the best water bottle I've ever used; I'll never go back to other brands. The design of the mouthpiece allows you to either sip like a straw or tip and chug, you don't need to touch the mouthpiece to open the lid, and the handle acts as an additional lid lock. Really easy to clean. Water stays cold for ages. And there's so many cool colours.

  • Absolutely in love with this brand! I’ve tried Hyrdoflask, Hydrojug, etc and always come back to my Owala. I have the free sip water bottle in white and a tumbler in this gorgeous blue color. The free sip doesn’t leak and the tumbler keeps liquid cold for a long time.

  • I love love LOVE my Owala SO SO MUCH! It truly makes me drink so much water. And it’s truly perfect with how you can both sip and pour- it really makes life more easy and more fun. Also they look so cute!!!

  • Love my owala water bottle. It’s the perfect size for my at bottle holder. I like the push button too to wig or so through a straw. I have about 4 and one of them the meal hinges try to keep messing up or cling loose but others work well.

  • I love the colors of the bottles! I have both the 24 oz and 32 oz FreeSip. I use the 24 oz more frequently as my day to day and the 32 oz for long day trips. The tops are interchangeable so you can mix things up. The 24 oz is slightly indented along the sides which makes it easier to grip. I love that it’s leakproof but it will sometimes show condensation on the outside. It also doesn’t fit in my car cup holder but I find the 24 oz easy enough to maneuver open single-handed. The straw is a unique feature that allows you to sip instead of swig and the mouthpiece is completely enclosed by the cap.

  • I use my water bottle as my everyday water bottle and it is good. The colors are fun, but nothing really sets it above any other company I love.

The push open and shut features can be difficult for those with fine motor skill problems. I also find that cleaning the top is not always the easiest.

  • Yes okay I have a problem. I love water bottles. I saw these and held off for the longest time but I really love them and the limited drops sometimes get me. These are pretty easy to clean but you have to make sure you know how to clean the little thingy that gets moldy. Also you need a straw cleaner. My kids love 'em too. My husband, of course, does not care.

  • Osaka is a perfect water bottle minus one thing. I love the straw or sip function and the leak proof top with the button and lock mechanism. The one thing I don’t like is the little silicon piece in the top of the lid in the second photo. It collects mold and once the mold is on there you cannot get it off. They sell a replacement part online for it but it’s still annoying. Other than that this is my perfect, go to water bottle especially for travel.

  • LOVE my Owala! The fact that it has a straw AND a chug spout... Amazing. I also find myself gravitating towards this bottle when I'm leaving the house since the straw is covered and it feels a bit more sanitary. They have really cute colorways, but they can sell out quick. Pro tip- there's a pull tab on the inside of the lid. Make sure you pull that out and wash under it to avoid any grime!

  • I this water bottle. It hold up even in a car accident with tiny little dints on it from being flung around. I would definitely recommend this water to anyone who does sport activities or is working somewhere that may have had other brand water bottles break. I like that this water bottle has a built in straw and comes in a variety of colors.

  • I have been song this bottle ALL OVER MY TIKTOK FYP! I decided it was finally time to go buy one. I went to to Target and got one and it lives up to its fame. I LOVE that it has the sip/straw option and the normal drink option. I also love that the color of the body of the bottle is different then all the parts on the lid. It keeps my water cold just as well as my old hydro flask! Overall 10/10 worth the hype.

  • Worth every penny. This is my ESB I take it everywhere and love the functionality of being able to sip and tilt. I also love how it pops open and that the mouth piece is always covered to keep it clean.

  • I have owned a lot of water bottles over the years (Hydroflask, Stanley, Swell, Yeti, BruMate, etc.) and nothing compares to my Owala! The straw and sipper mechanism has been amazing when you are spill prone. Easy to clean, travels well, and keeps your water/beverages cold!
