Reviews mention

  • Innovative dual-sip mouthpiece
  • Excellent cold-retention insulation
  • Secure locking, leak-resistant lid
  • Durable, drop-resistant construction
  • Heavy stainless steel bodies
  • Cupholder-incompatible larger sizes
  • Mold-prone silicone insert

Owala earns strong reviews as a high-performing, leak-resistant hydration brand whose FreeSip lid—offering both straw and chug options—makes drinking intuitive and keeps beverages cold for hours. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some sizes don’t fit cup holders, components can be tricky to clean with mold-prone silicone and occasional straw detachment, certain bottles feel heavy or top‑heavy, and isolated reports cite rust, paint chipping, instability in a tumbler, and leaks if unlocked.

  • This is my new favorite water bottle - and I had to buy another because my husband took my first one! It ticks all my boxes: keeps beverages cold (ice still frozen 24 hours later!), is easy to fill, easy to wash, easy to open and closed leakproof, AND fits in cupholders! What more does a busy girl need?!

  • This water bottle is great, the 24oz fits nicely in my car cupholder without any issues. Not too heavy weight either. Opening up the bottle to take a sip is easy and works every time, have never had a problem with it. This is perfect for a workout at the gym or practice at the field.

  • I jumped on the Owala bandwagon earlier this year because I liked their fun colors and patterns, and was intrigued by the dual straw/chug opening. After some time, though, I've moved away from their FreeSip products because I was getting annoyed having to open the lid every time I wanted to drink (leaving the lid open guaranteed my young kids would knock it over immediately). The bottles themselves are high quality: sturdy and substantial without being too bulky, but Owala recommends hand-washing to preserve the external finish which is too time-consuming for me. (I have put some of my Owalas in the dishwasher and it does occasionally change the look and feel of the external finish.) Also, most sizes do not fit in cup holders, so I don't travel with them much. Owala does a great job releasing fun and unique patterns consistently, so they are fun to collect and give as gifts because everyone (else) loves them!

  • Are you looking for a practical water bottle with a straw that isn't exposed, won't spill, features a locker function, keeps water cold for a long time, is easy to carry, fits perfectly in your car cupholder, and holds 30 oz? This was precisely what I wanted when searching for a new water bottle, and if you're after the same, don't waste time, buy your Owala now!

  • Forget a Stanley I’ve been team Owala for a couple of years now and I’ll never change. The sip and gulp top is the best for me. I have three sizes of the water bottle and I’ll be buying a coffee cup soon.

  • The Owala 40oz cup is a great option for staying hydrated throughout the day. It keeps drinks cold for hours, and the wide mouth makes it easy to add ice or clean. The built-in straw and comfortable handle make it super convenient to carry around. Overall, it’s durable, practical, and stylish—perfect for daily

  • I bought 2 free sip Owala bottles from a retail store and they are perfect so I bought a free sip sway from the site (thats the only place I've found them) the first one I got ended up with spots that ate through the 'rust resistant' bottle after a month and the 2nd one I've bought ended up with those same spots after 7 DAYS. I do not have this issue with the ones bought from a retailer only the ones coming STRAIGHT FROM THE SITE. Owala refuses to resolve the issue even after I said I kept both bottles and will send them back for a refund.

  • Really went back and forth on whether I should hop on the Owala bandwagon, ended up getting one. Favorite water bottle I’ve owned! Love the sip and all the colors are so fun. Snap lid can be a bit tight but it loosened up over time for me.

  • really fun colors, easy to clean and relatively light compared to other water bottles. I've had it for over a year and it's held up well through many dishwasher cycles. It's never leaked on me and my toddler loves his.

  • I love this bottle when it actually comes time to drink out of it. The option to sip or slurp is awesome. The 32 oz is kind of awkward shape wise (it doesn't taper, so good luck fitting it into a cup holder) and it's heavy! I know anything that can hold that much water would be heavy, but the issue with this is you either have the little tab to hold it at the top (and break your fingers) or you have to wrap your hand around it. Which, sure, of course, it's a water bottle you hold. But if you have tiny hands, it can be tiring lol. I also HATE that I cannot get the sticker residue off from the unnecessary sticker on the lid. At least it doesn't spill like a Stanley.

  • We have many of these in different sizes and shapes and colors! The kids had the Harry Potter ones for camp this summer though I prefer my largest vessel for my water :)

  • I only wish I found Owala bottles sooner. They are by far the best water bottle I've ever used; I'll never go back to other brands. The design of the mouthpiece allows you to either sip like a straw or tip and chug, you don't need to touch the mouthpiece to open the lid, and the handle acts as an additional lid lock. Really easy to clean. Water stays cold for ages. And there's so many cool colours.

  • I love love LOVE my Owala SO SO MUCH! It truly makes me drink so much water. And it’s truly perfect with how you can both sip and pour- it really makes life more easy and more fun. Also they look so cute!!!

  • Love my owala water bottle. It’s the perfect size for my at bottle holder. I like the push button too to wig or so through a straw. I have about 4 and one of them the meal hinges try to keep messing up or cling loose but others work well.

  • I love the colors of the bottles! I have both the 24 oz and 32 oz FreeSip. I use the 24 oz more frequently as my day to day and the 32 oz for long day trips. The tops are interchangeable so you can mix things up. The 24 oz is slightly indented along the sides which makes it easier to grip. I love that it’s leakproof but it will sometimes show condensation on the outside. It also doesn’t fit in my car cup holder but I find the 24 oz easy enough to maneuver open single-handed. The straw is a unique feature that allows you to sip instead of swig and the mouthpiece is completely enclosed by the cap.

  • LOVE my Owala! The fact that it has a straw AND a chug spout... Amazing. I also find myself gravitating towards this bottle when I'm leaving the house since the straw is covered and it feels a bit more sanitary. They have really cute colorways, but they can sell out quick. Pro tip- there's a pull tab on the inside of the lid. Make sure you pull that out and wash under it to avoid any grime!

  • I use my water bottle as my everyday water bottle and it is good. The colors are fun, but nothing really sets it above any other company I love.

The push open and shut features can be difficult for those with fine motor skill problems. I also find that cleaning the top is not always the easiest.

  • I this water bottle. It hold up even in a car accident with tiny little dints on it from being flung around. I would definitely recommend this water to anyone who does sport activities or is working somewhere that may have had other brand water bottles break. I like that this water bottle has a built in straw and comes in a variety of colors.

  • I have been song this bottle ALL OVER MY TIKTOK FYP! I decided it was finally time to go buy one. I went to to Target and got one and it lives up to its fame. I LOVE that it has the sip/straw option and the normal drink option. I also love that the color of the body of the bottle is different then all the parts on the lid. It keeps my water cold just as well as my old hydro flask! Overall 10/10 worth the hype.

  • Worth every penny. This is my ESB I take it everywhere and love the functionality of being able to sip and tilt. I also love how it pops open and that the mouth piece is always covered to keep it clean.
