Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • This product line has too much protein for my hair. For another hair type, I’m sure it’d work. I do love the oil though.

  • Bond repair- I didn’t see a visible difference in my hair or split ends comparatively to any other leave in conditioner-I know this product is not a leave in conditioner but it had the same effect for me. I have 3a hair for reference.

  • First love the product, second it definitely depends on your climate and how often you use the product! When I was in Oklahoma I was using it twice a month and my hair was loving it, now that I am in the desert I shifted it to once a month and I go between the clarifying shampoo and the bond maintenance.

  • I’m pretty new to using Olaplex, but I have tried a good number of their product line. Starting at 0, I don’t love this product. I don’t feel as though it assists the no. 3 in any way but obviously I don't know at a chemical level. I only tried a travel size version, so I can’t speak to the full size spray bottle packaging, but I don’t like the nozzle tip of 0. It doesn’t spread well and I have really long hair. I’ve used no 3 a few times, and I do feel a difference after using, but will need to use more consistently to say anything concrete. I love the no 4 shampoo, it smells great and lathers well, but the no 5 conditioner leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn’t detangle well, has poor slip, and my hair feels dry after washing it out. I don’t love the no 6. I don’t think it helps with frizz at all, and it’s not great as a leave-in. TLDR; love no. 3 and no. 4, skip no. 0 and no. 3, no. 6 may work for you if you have course hair

Quite expensive, can be a little confusing for those without a set hair routine before trying Olaplex.

  • The No.5 bond maintence conditioner makes my hair SO BUTTERY SILKY SMOOTH. Almost too smooth because my hair is pretty thin and doesn't want to behave after this conditioner. Be prepared to wear your hair up the first day after using it.

An option for bigger bottles at a discount would be mighty appreciated!

  • Super expensive and didn’t really work for me - great results for those with colored or damaged hair, but not worth it otherwise

  • Olaplex is my holy grail of hair products. I cannot praise it enough, it completely changes the texture of my hair and makes it look so good.

  • I’m a regular for the in salon olaplex add on when my hair is coloured, and I’ve also tried many of their home hair care products. Really impressed with the results. The purple shampoo no.4p is INSANE. Best results I’ve had outside of the salon whilst not damaging my fragile hair. I also love the No.6 smoother. Great how I can use it on damp hair after a wash or on dry hair when the ends get frizzy, doesn’t make it greasy even on dry hair.

When doing the full repair system it’s takes a bit of a long time to do all the steps using the no.0 and it’s a bit of a faff. I’d love some mini sizes to make it easier to take away.

  • I have curly hair that suffers from dryness. It is hard to find products that help to maintain the curls while also keeping them hydrating. This brand is amazing. It works for my curly hair, especially the oil. My hair has never looked shinier and healthy.

The price tag is expensive for the small amount that you receive.

  • I have tried all of the products in the line so far except the purple shampoo. Frequently bleaching my hair makes it very fragile and prone to breakage. I do feel that No3 helps strengthen my hair, especially when used together with No0. The shampoo and conditioner are nice and smell lovely, but the conditioner is too thick for the type of squeeze bottle and is really hard to get out. No6 is fantastic and I use it almost daily even on dry hair. I tried the No7 but felt it wasn't for me and is difficult to spread evenly through long hair.

    Feedback

The thicker products are too hard to dispense from their squeeze bottles, especially the conditioner, which is why I no longer use it. I wish they would make a cleansing conditioner, as I don't like to use foaming shampoos on my fragile hair. But most importantly, what I would most like to see is lower prices. The small No3 bottle is $28 and only contains enough to treat my shoulder length hair 3 times. That's just crazy expensive.

  • After perm my hair felt so dry and just damaged so I decided to try Olaplex as I had heard good experiences from friends. I got the first treatment at a hair salon and been using No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 at home after that for a few months. I do think my hair feels much better and slightly shinier.

Quite expensive altough it also lasts long. The shampoo for example I realised after a while you only need a tiny bit which could be communicated clearer.

  • I have 3c curly hair, and I found that the product actually made a difference in terms of the smoothness of my hair. I would add in a quarter size after showering and leave it in as I would a gel. It was a great product for shine too. I gave 4 stars because I don't think it was absolutely necessary to my hair routine.

  • My all time fave

  • I honestly did not see much a difference after using the conditioner or the oil. I was expecting a greater change especially considering the wide range of influencers promoting it. It’s also an expensive item that I would not repurchase!

  • I have always had extremely dry hair, very normal for curly hair. When I moved to chicago I found a hair salon that introduced to me the best product I have ever tested on my hair, OLAPLEX! The packaging is clean and perfect, but the product in itself smells amazing and works great. I used to use it 3x a week and it saved my hair from the cold chicago winters

  • Really saved my hair after all the bleaching I did! It is good quality products

  • Pretty expensive product and don't think it was worth the money. Got the intense conditioner and don't think it really helped. The instructions also say to put it on leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it out of your hair. That's never super convenient to wet your hair, apply the product then wait 10 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo

  • This is hands-down, the best hair product out there. A little bit goes a long way, so although the bottles are small, it does last a long time I use the shampoo, conditioner, bond, maintenance, and frizz control.

  • Love the way olaplex nourishes my hair the shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel like it’s healthy. The mask is wonderful also I put that on and walk around house. Try other products also to style hair they are wonderful so.

  • I've been using OLAPLEX for many years now, and I really loved how it left my hair, but lately, the results aren't the same. The one product I really love is their nighttime treatments. I think it's a slightly overpriced product. I recognize its quality, and it might not be for everyone.
