Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

The best oat milk alternative! Recommended by our paediatrician as well, as a follow-up milk for our toddler! The best possible taste and also the most nutritious! The Oat Drink Barista Edition replaced the regular milk for the rest of the family, too!

We went plant-based 5 years ago and missed cows' milk. After trying a variety of alternatives we came across Oatly Oat Drink, Barista edition. From that day forward we use nothing else. Not only is it great in tea and coffee but it can be treated as milk and used pretty much in all recipes. We used to tell visitors that we did have milk and if would they be okay with a vegan alternative but now we just serve it and nobody seems to notice or care. It's an excellent alternative.
It was good! I only drink oat milk when it comes to milk products and this one is definitely a winner. Worth the price for sure. Smooth taste!
The barista milk is one of the greatest things ever invented. Oatly is smooth, tasty and no nonsense. Massive fan, and I love the millennial humour on the carton.
I am not a big fan of oatmilk.

I haven’t drank cow milk in many years and it was always the hardest to find a substitute to satisfy my cravings. This drink is so creamy and so delicious and you can even be served by itself or in a latte. They all taste really good.

Always a go to. Perfect size bottle, quality oat, good creaminess varieties.
tastes great but full of oils and emulsifiers, not my favorite.

This is the only oat milk I'll drink -- I had a bad experience with PlanetOat milk spoiling quickly and not frothing well, and I did not care for the taste of Califia (too nutty), Silk (awful aftertaste), and Chobani (way too sweet). The barista blend is great for iced lattes and frothing. I use the other milks in recipes and it has worked well in my experience!

Love Oatly - My favorite oatmilk.
Not all oat milks are created equal. I've tried maybe 10-15 different brands at this point and Oatly is consistently in the upper tier of quality. It doesn't taste watery, it has excellent mouthfeel, and is drinkable as-is. The full fat one is quite rich and nice as creamer substitute or in oatmeal - I found it too rich to use as a latte base.
So creamy and great for coffee.
When oatly first came on the market, it was creamy and the perfect alternative milk. I used to drink, cook, and eat granola with the original. As time went on, I do think the quality sadly declined. It seems more watery and not as rich. I will still buy the barista edition for coffee from time to time, it creates a nice foam.
Good barista option, good for a cappuccino and foam as a normal milk, but too much seeds oil in there I can almost taste it
I tried it because I love the brand and their communication. I was a little skeptical when I tried it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and consistency of it.

I like what Oatly is trying to do as a brand, I like their packaging, but I cannot stand the taste and consistency of their products. All the oat milk options I’ve tried have an incredibly watery, not creamy, consistency. And they taste watery too.
I’m no expert here, but this doesn’t the job at keeping my lactose intolerant body at bay.

It’s expensive, but the taste is good. The barista version specifically has a nice creaminess to it that you don’t get from most oat mills.

Great product, tastes really neutral. Fantastic in coffee. Definitely a huge difference between the lite and regular and creamy versions, which are hard to tell if you don't realize there's a packaging colour difference. Regular and Creamy are great, the Lite is really watery.
i have tried Oatly a few times & i really likes it first off... then it really felt and tasted like highly puréed oats rather than milk. it's a bit too thick and the taste isn't as milky / light tasting as i prefer. i know many people who dig it! i'm a little sensitive to texture and taste... i bought it a few times for my barista frothing machine and it was just too much like oatmeal for me. i recommend it to others who don't have such sensitive palate as it's a good product. enjoy!!
