  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Compared other oat milks, I think Oatly tastes better/more like oats and not just some bland milk. Haven’t tried the barista version, but I’d agree with others that the normal version isn’t the best to mix with coffee.

  • As a long time oat milk lover, I've tried lots of the new brands coming out over the years but Oatly remains my favorite. I love making lattes at home with the barista edition

  • Loved the packaging and was the first brand that introduced me to milk alternatives

When trying to switch from regular milk to a milk alternative, I found myself trying Oatley in the beginning it was great, but it was really sweet and it left a weird aftertaste. After trying it for a few weeks, I decided to compare it to other milk alternatives, and in comparison, I liked other brands more. This brand does not feel as healthy and clean as other alternatives.

  • Oatly made me an oat milk latte drinker - and as someone who used to swear by almond milk, that is saying a LOT.

your ice cream flavors ROCK! I just wish there was a greater variety in flavors + flavors that include mix-ins

  • I’ve tried all the oat milk I can find. This just tasted the creamiest. I like the full fat version.

Less sugar, it does have more than you’d expect. Also the company took money from some investment firms associated with the trump campaign. Oatly said they’d rather some of that money go to their cause which I can understand.

  • I've tried the Original Oatly (milk) a few times, when my favorite brand was unavailable Oatly is a solid non-dairy milk option. I prefer oat milk to every other type (I consume it every day in some format, usually with cereal). I've tried basically every type of non-dairy milk in most unflavored, unsweetened formats. Oatmilk is genuinely the tastiest and most sustainable option, IMO. Oatly's options are definitely among the better options available in my local grocery. However, Oatly specifically is not my regular brand. It has good flavor, but not *great* (I wanna taste clean, neutral, subtly sweet, maybe lightly toasty oat flavor). I don't want to be pummeled by it, and I don't wanna be left wondering if it's really "oat" milk ... Oatly falls in the former category. It's a wallop of oat that can obscure the flavor of whatever you're eating or cooking (with it). I'm also in for a goldilocks experience when it comes to texture. Not too thin. Not too dense. Creamy but not oily or pulpy. The Original Oatly's texture is pretty good. I do not go for the Full Fat version or Low Fat versions for just this reason. Lastly, I want an option that's plain [read: not sweetened with anything extra]. To me, oats are naturally pretty sweet on their own. Oatly's Original is a good backup option for me for this reason.

I'm looking for a more balanced flavor, less on the side of"a bowl of oatmeal" on the spectrum and more of a "carefully steeped in oats for exactly the right amount of time" kind of deal.

  • The best oat milk for coffee! I don't love to use it for drinking/etc though.

    Feedback

Nothing - it's perfect as is.

  • Tried many oat milks, nothing else matches the smoothness and flavor of Oatly.

  • my go-to has always been oatly - especially the barista kind. i’ve tried other brands when oatly hasn’t been available and none of them compare. i honestly buy it in bulk now and keep it on the shelf bc i use it so much for coffee, smoothies, cooking, baking, etc

  • Oatly makes a decent tasting oat milk but the mix of all the ingredients doesn't seem right or necessary.

    Feedback

Formula, too watery in the creamer version and definitely a little too much stabilizer in the regular version.

  • While a great idea in theory, the taste is not great. It tastes like cardboard when drinking it on its own. It’s much better when eaten with something else, like cereal.

    Feedback

    Less filler ingredients.

  • I use oatly everyday. Love it.

    Feedback

I don’t love rapeseed oil. I wish they would find something else.

  • I think Oatly tastes the best out of options for Oat Milk on the market. their brand marketing is also great

    Feedback

there is a lot of talk about gums and other added ingredients to Oatly that have me skeptical about proceeding with buying it in the future

  • When Oatly first landed in the US-- I drank it religiously. After a year or so--I switch between regular milk and Oatly. I have had some issues with availability and quality control (swollen box).

    Availability.

  • We love Oatly regular and barista in our house and must have it stocked in the fridge at all times. Having tried a number of other oat milks, we love the Swedish original and use it in our coffee, cereal, and the occasional baking. The barista version is especially effective for frothing -- highly recommend.

    Feedback

Prices keep going up and the barista versions can be more expensive and harder to find in stores.

  • What initially drew me in was the packaging, I loved the look and found it intriguing. The taste is very creamy and it's nice to drink on its own, in milk, and I've used it baking and have had success. If you are used to the white color of cow milk, the light brown color of Oatly might be a surprise but it tastes so much better than cow's milk!

  • I love it, perfect milk 🥛
