LL Bean Reviews

Best of Thingtesting4.8

LL Bean earns strong reviews as a reliable, high-quality heritage brand whose products—especially Boat & Tote bags, Bean Boots, and Wicked Good slippers—perform and last for years, often decades. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some canvas totes are heavy and lack compartments, slippers and certain clothing can wear out or run large, designs skew classic rather than modern, and the once-legendary return policy has tightened.

  • I absolutely love these moccasin slippers. They are super comfy and keep my feet warm all year around. I love the hard but flexible base. They fit great and are true to size. These are an easy on and off slipper but stay on your feet while moving around the house versus other slippers that sometimes easily fall off.

  • I come from a loyal LL Bean family of three generations, so I’ve seen some iteration of all their products at some point. They are reliable, and some products (waterhog mats, totes, bathrobes) can reach heirloom status. Utility is where LLBean really shines. The first products I bought with my own money were a set of long silk underwear. They were expensive, but they are the best thermal layers I own by far. If I have to go somewhere cold and unpleasant, for work or otherwise, they take the edge off and make it tolerable. They’re not exactly aesthetic, but they’re not supposed to be, which means I will confidently repair and use them for probably the rest of my life. The only downside to this brand I can think of is increasing use of plastics over the last thirty years and the end of their legendary replacements program. Even with those two minor points though they’re still a fantastic American heritage brand.

  • This has become my go-to beach bag. I absolutely love the zippered top — prevents loads of sand from getting in. It's also durable, easily washable, and super cute. I ended up monogramming "goodbye" on mine as I simply don't want people to think I'm approachable :)

  • Had them a little over a year had my receipt went to our Al Bean because they were falling apart and they said it was normal wear and tear. I’ve I’ve spent a lot of money at L.L. Bean, but will no longer do so nor will my daughter who has spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Why should a $93 slipper not hold up for a little over a year? Totally disgusted with the woman I dealt with won’t be shopping there ever again.
