Jeni's Ice Creams reviews and discussion

I wish I got the appeal of this brand, but I just don't. We've tried 3 or 4 flavors and, overall, they're just not as smooth as you want them to be and way, way too sweet -- to the point of not being able to differentiate the flavors you wanted. This is especially true of the Buttercream Birthday Cake flavor. We gave the pint to our neighbors after trying a scoop. We couldn't taste anything but sweet. We've also tried the Gooey Butter Cake, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, and Maple Soaked Pancakes. They just don't achieve what I want from an ice cream, which is a base I can differentiate from the mix-ins and complexity of flavor (well, and a smooth base). If you want butter cake, go with Ample Hills. I suspect there are better alternatives for these other complicated flavors, too. Maybe I need to try a more simple flavor and skip the more complicated mix-in ones, but it's not worth being disappointed again.

Creamy and tasty ice cream with consistent quality. I'm basing this review off my in-store experience. I haven't seen Jeni's ice cream individual packages for purchase outside of their stores.

Ice cream is so creamy

Obsessed with certain limited edition flavors! I prefer sweeter more fruit based flavors and they always have something I like. The Punk Stargonaut flavor is something I think about once a week and would love for them to bring back 🥲 If we could vote for discontinued flavors to be brought back that would be so fun!

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams' Gooey Butter flavor is pure indulgence... it's like dessert heaven in every spoonful! The combination of sweet and salty makes for a perfect treat that will satisfy any ice cream lover's cravings. Jeni's Gooey Butter ice cream is a must-have for anyone looking to elevate their dessert experience at home!

Love Jeni's branding style and the different unique flavors they release. I would not say it is life-changing ice cream/something I intentionally seek out on a regular basis though.

I as a little weary about trying this because it’s like,8 bucks a carton. But someone actually gave me one and I gotta say it is pretty dang good. I had the gooey butter cake,going in blind I’ve never even had butter cake before,but this was so good. Flavorful,creamy,buttery cake. I would absolutely buy this .

Loveeee the unique flavors. Pecan sticky buns is my go-to flavor, but I love trying new ones too.

Anyone living in Chicago has likely tried Jeni's. The ice cream is extremely rich and bursting with flavor. I like that because a little goes a long way in satiating you. At Jeni's they reallly take ice cream science seriously - from flavor to feel to melt! The flavor line-up has something for everyone, my favorite being the gooey butter cake.

I love Jeni’s and their unique flavors. The range of flavors that are vegan, gluten free, or both is amazing and super inclusive. I am adventurous with food, so I am always picking up their newest off-the-wall creations.

Just...Yes, please. The best ice cream I have EVER eaten. The variety of flavors is incredible and are so varied and seasonal. The mouth feel of the this ice cream is unlike any I have ever eaten. My absolute favorite in blueberry lemon. Do yourself a favor and try this ice cream the next time you are indulging in a high end frozen treat!

Real Tasty

I LOVE THIS ICE CREAM, the flavor is just wonderful and I love how it tastes in my mouth. It is soft and the flavor is delicious.I have just tried one flavour but will try more.

Listen, if this stuff is in the ice cream aisle you need to buy it. Don’t hesitate. The butter cake and bramble crisp are NEXT LEVEL

Such unique and delicious flavors! I’ve been a fan for many years and highly recommend the cookbook! My homemade ice cream always turns out great!

My guilty pleasure. The lavender flavor is to die for and I could (and have) eat the whole pint in one day. It’s not heavy like Ben and Jerry’s or Haagan Daaz and it surely doesn’t lack in quality or flavor. Nonetheless, the cost for a single pint is what puts me off…and the weight too I guess lol
