Haus Reviews

3.7

Haus earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the aperitifs often taste fresh, botanical, and versatile with low ABV that suits spritzes and light cocktails, but several reviews criticize muted or wine-like flavors and occasional syrupy or overly floral notes. Reviews praise standout flavors like Lemon Lavender and Grapefruit Jalapeño, striking packaging, and recipe cards, while noting uneven flavor complexity and that many blends drink better mixed than neat.

  • I’m not super impressed with this brand, but it’s OK and some of the colors are fun. It’s the kind of product. I would maybe purchase for my teenage niece, but I wouldn’t purchase it for my 60-year-old auntie, if that makes sense.

  • A friend of mine bought me a gift set from Haus and I loved the unboxing experience! I think it's a great gift to give someone who loves a spritz. I wouldn't personally buy it for myself especially since I've never seen it in any stores, but it was tasty and light.

  • Loved the packaging and the elevated feel of the whole brand. Would try more flavors in the future & the recipe cards that come with the bottles are also really fun and make me want to try them in different ways.

I feel like my palette isn't sophisticated enough for the unique flavors they have and I don't know how to drink it regularly given the alcohol percentage. I didn't like the Citrus Flower flavor I tried that much, it was too floral. Haus is also marketed as a "low alcohol" option but its actually a quite high alcohol percentage drink (similar to wine). It makes me feel limited in how to drink it: On one hand I didn't like any of the flavors I've tried so far on the rocks and the flavor's not quite strong enough to essentially water down with seltzer but on the other hand Haus's flavors seem like great cocktail mixers to liquors (Whiskey + Bitter Clove for example) which then makes a really strong drink.

  • This is my favorite booze brand! I try two new flavors every month but I'd say that Rose Rose and Lavendar Lemon are my go-tos. I find myself cooking with these, mixing them in teas and club soda, and can drink them straight if I'd like that! The bottles are gorgeous and look so pretty out on a bar cart.

What is Haus?

Haus offers low-sugar alcohol products with natural ingredients, creating a modern approach to the classic European apératif.

In their own words

It all started with alcohol, an industry that hasn’t evolved since prohibition. It’s still ruled by huge liquor companies that spend big to get their products on store shelves and in bars. And you’re stuck with their choices. Sketchy ingredients, too much alcohol, outdated aesthetics, and too many hangovers. Something needed to change, and we knew alcohol could be different. Like food, it can come from organic farms, not factories. It can be created naturally with real fruits and botanicals, not artificial flavors. And it can be accessible. So we created our own alcohol brand aligned with the values of our generation. We started with a line of apéritifs (low-ABV spirits made popular in Europe) made with whole fruits and botanicals, and none of the artificial stuff. Sophisticated yet easy to drink, Haus is something you can drink on the rocks just as easily as in a cocktail with sparkling water or tonic. And with a fraction of the alcohol of hard liquor (18% ABV to be exact), it's designed to be enjoyed all night without the consequences. We launched direct-to-consumer (we were the first alcohol brand of our kind to do this) to make high quality alcohol accessible to more people, and quickly hit a sweet spot with drinkers looking for something better. While we still primarily sell online, you'll start to see Haus in retailers, bars, and restaurants soon, too. At the end of the day, our goal is to make drinking better for as many people as possible.
