Reviews mention

  • Compliment-magnet signature fragrance
  • Seamless, buildable cream blush
  • Natural, defining brow gel
  • Gentle, lightweight cleanser
  • Inconsistent shade inclusivity
  • Sheer, short-lasting formulas
  • Fragile, leaky packaging
  • Variable scent longevity

Glossier earns praise in reviews for effortless, no‑makeup makeup staples like Boy Brow, Cloud Paint, Lash Slick, and the universally complimented Glossier You fragrance, which many call a signature scent. However, reviewers flag inconsistent makeup payoff and longevity, polarizing skincare efficacy, packaging flaws (leaking body oil, cracking lipstick caps, messy Cloud Paint tubes), reformulation disappointments (Balm Dotcom, You perfume), limited shade range, and some products feeling sheer, basic, or short‑lasting.

  • Love a lot of their products. Gives me the no makeup makeup feel. Some products don’t work well on my dry skin but others are miracle workers.

    Feedback

    Color range.

  • I like the idea of the "less is more" makeup approach. The packaging is cute.

    Feedback

The colors don't show up well on me, and my skin tone is medium. A bit pricey for makeup that doesn't work for a lot of people.

  • Like every makeup brand, Glossier has winners and losers. Products I've tried and think ARE worth it: -Boy Brow (very natural, does exactly what you want it to, doesn't smudge) -Generation G Lipstick (subtle, beautiful lip color; looks like a matte stain) Are not worth it: -Milky Jelly cleanser (truly just meh - got skin clean, but had no special benefits above standard drugstore cleanser)

  • Been a fan of glossier since 2018. Love their body products and fragrance, but the makeup line can be a hit or miss. My favorite products are the stretch concealer, mascara, milk jelly cleanser and the body wash.

    Feedback

Really great customer service and cute stickers that come with every order. But could be more sustainable with their packaging.

  • Some of their products have become staples: the face tint, boy brow, lidstar. I also appreciated how responsive the CS team was when I had questions about my skin shade. Their website is also better than most at showing how the product looks on different skin tones.

    Feedback

Reducing the plastic in their packaging. The white design means the products look dirty really quickly.

  • Products are great. Effective, easy to use and smell great.

Would love to see more environmentally-friendly packaging options!

  • I don't wear much makeup, but when I do it's Glossier Boy Brow in Clear and Cloud Paint (which I use on cheeks, nose, and even as an eye shadow). Haven't found all of the products I've tried from them to be "winners" but will always come back for these tried and true products.

    Feedback

Feel like they're product catalog hasn't felt as "exciting" lately as it once did, more come now for refills than for product discovery.

  • I really like some of their products like the lip balms and perfume, but I think they are overpriced for what you get, the quality is not necessarily on par with the prices in my opinion

    Feedback

    price point

  • Fabulous, top tier customer experience and support. You have an issue - it will get fixed, no questions asked.

    Feedback

Pricing is a little high, perhaps a more innovative product offering. More merch!

  • I have only tried their Balm Dotcom in Cherry and Birthday but I wasn't a fan of it. My lips felt smooth only because if I put the product on my lips and left it there the entire day, it would never penetrate into my lips. Thus, it just sat on the outer layer and I felt there was something on my lips at all time. To me, it was a more expensive version of Vaseline that had different smells/flavors/colors.

    Texture/color/packaging needs to be improved.

  • Love the brow and lip makeup. The brow gel is the perfect color and gives a really natural look.

  • I really like some of the products but not so much others. Boy Brow is solid but I’m not as much of a fan of the skin tint because find it to be oily. Trying to figure out if the concealer is drying or not but not sold yet. Trying to love and always trying new products because hoping to fall in love!

  • Really great variety of products and easy to use. Well suited for makeup novices and regular users. Balm Dotcom, Futuredew, and Cloud Paint are favorites. Also super easy to gift and come in cute packaging

    Feedback

Larger product sizes would be appreciated!

  • Big fan of the boy brow and cloud paint. I can't give it a full 5 stars because I don't feel like I've tried enough of their products. I like the concept of this company though and generally think they offer high quality goods.

  • As a marketer, I respect and admire Glossier's successful branding + marketing efforts. But as a consumer, it's all very underwhelming. At least for the products I've used (Super Pure, Priming Moisturizer, Generation G, and Lidstar). The products themselves don't seem to have that impressive factor, but somehow their strong brand identity makes it all forgiveable?

  • In general I’ve found that Glossier products, particularly their makeup, lack staying power. Probably great if you want a very minimal look, not so much if you want any type of real coverage. Gorgeous packaging though, and the Boy Brow is a truly exceptional product which I do recommend to anyone looking for a great brow gel/filler.

  • I'm worried that Glossier has me totally hooked. I LOVE the You perfume -- and it became a joke in grad school that I was always wearing it. And I'll probably never stop buying stretch concealer. Every other concealer I've tried has made me break out, or has pilled against my skincare. But stretch concealer always works and looks amazing.

I always WANT to love generation G, but it's just a little too chalky.

  • i like the website but think the presentation is maybe better than the product.

    Feedback

I wish they were more sustainably focused, but not sure this is their mission.

  • I think I buy most of the products because the experience is slick, delivery fast, and visuals appealing. But when digging into the formulations actually they are nothing special.

    Feedback

I'd love for make up to function as make up and sometimes the au naturel look just means that the products seem like not to work. Eg. foundation does not really provide any coverage.

  • **Full disclosure I used to work retail for this brand but am no longer affiliated to them in anyway** Obviously there's a lot to be said about the hype of this brand. They definitely revolutionized the way we think about and shop for beauty and skincare. That being said, while they may have started a wave there are a lot of brands out there now that accomplish what they have and more (i.e. are cleaner, more sustainable, better shade range, better price point) Some products that I think are worth your money: - Solution: Good mix of AHA/BHA acids at a good price point compared to Paula's Choice or Biologique Recherche. Very good entry level chemical exfoliant. - Milky Jelly Cleanser: a great two in one super gentle makeup removing cleanser. Bottle is v nice to travel with so you don't have to bring two separate products (makeup remover and cleanser). Have not used another cleanser that I can so blatantly rub in my eyes to remove makeup and not feel any stinging/discomfort etc. - Cloud Paint: that tiny ass tube will last you a literal lifetime and is super easy to blend with no makeup experience you can use just your fingers and looks so natural. - Mega Greens Galaxy Pack: such an OG product!! One of the first products I honestly ever remember buying that I actually noticed a difference with. A must have for grimy NYC summers. Really detoxes without tightening or stripping your face. Some products that I do not think are worth your money: - Serums: See The Ordinary/Coco Kind/Andalou naturals - Body Hero Cream: full of mineral oils, petroleum etc so so greasy does not absorb easily. If you like the scent get the oil wash that product is sick. -Lidstar: so many other brands that do this kind of eyeshadow way way better, w better pigments and for cheaper. See Colourpop/NYX/Lottie London.
