Reviews mention

  • Compliment-magnet signature fragrance
  • Seamless, buildable cream blush
  • Natural, defining brow gel
  • Gentle, lightweight cleanser
  • Inconsistent shade inclusivity
  • Sheer, short-lasting formulas
  • Fragile, leaky packaging
  • Variable scent longevity

Glossier earns praise in reviews for effortless, no‑makeup makeup staples like Boy Brow, Cloud Paint, Lash Slick, and the universally complimented Glossier You fragrance, which many call a signature scent. However, reviewers flag inconsistent makeup payoff and longevity, polarizing skincare efficacy, packaging flaws (leaking body oil, cracking lipstick caps, messy Cloud Paint tubes), reformulation disappointments (Balm Dotcom, You perfume), limited shade range, and some products feeling sheer, basic, or short‑lasting.

  • Products are just okay. I've found that for the price point usually, I can find something at a lower price point that works just as well or at the same price point that works so much better. I have to admit the pink zip bags are great for travel. I do love their fragrance and have rebought their balm dot calm and bubble wrap eye cream.

  • Very cool customer focused brand. I love some products more than others but they have a unique and fun approach to makeup.

    The business side of things

  • Lot of great staple products, and I love their perfume (especially as someone sensitive to most perfumes). Their returns are super easy and generous, so it's worth trying things (I have noticed a lot of variety between shades for the same product). They do a pretty good job of showing swatches on different skin tones which is a must for me.

    Feedback

Even more swatches on variety of models. More consistency of products between shades.

  • I’ve been using Glossier for years and they still have some of my go-to products. Simple and great staples for makeup, especially the Cloud Paint blush. I would maybe pass on the skincare, but it can be a great intro into serums. Highly recommend the lip products, the blush, and the fragrance

  • Everyone loves Glossier because of their fun packaging. I love the fact that they ship to US territories.

Sadly, I've outgrown my Glossier phase (I'm an old millennial)

  • i used to really enjoy their cloud paint. but there are several alternatives to consider after learning how they’ve treated their BIPOC employees. you can also find other lines with a more inclusive shade range.

    Feedback

glossier should probably restore the harm they’ve caused to their former BIPOC employees.

  • I’ve liked Glossier since they started! They are so innovative but also minimalist. I love their body products, perfume, and skin tint.

  • I like their cloud paint, and cleanser and tints. I admittedly don’t have super specific needs and like a minimal makeup look. To each their own.

  • I’ve used a handful of glossier products, including the body wash, perfume, mascara, high lighter, cloud paint, and some items from the limited Play line. I’ve liked them all, repurchased cloud paint and the body wash (still working through the perfume - a little goes a long way).

  • I’ve been a long time Glossier fan. Definitely have a few items I’ve repurchased such as Boy Boy, Body Hero Oil, and an all time favorite Milky Jelly Cleanser. Of course there are a few cheaper dupes of their most loved products, but I always go back to Glossier. Overall, one of my long time favorite beauty brands.

    Feedback

The products are not sized generously for the price.

  • This brand gets all the gold stars in the world for packaging and aesthetic, but their products can be hit or miss. Personal favorites include Boy Brow — a brow pomade in a minuscule container; Generation G — a sweet, nearly-sheer lipstick in a reasonable amount of color options; and the Milky Jelly cleanser — a gentle face wash with a cult following. Some of their standards, like the Balm Dotcom, leave something to be desired. I’ve never really understood what made the viscous, jelly-like product unique as skin salves with more of a pharmaceutical punch sell for much cheaper given the volume.

Products need to perform as well as they look. Many of the products don’t play well together — the concealer and highlighter, for example, will pill when used together. The brand needs to think holistically and refine its personas as their aging clientele demands more than millennial pink packaging.

  • I think some of their products really stand out (bubble wrap, cloud blush) but other than that, these products can be such a miss. The packaging is alright, and the price is really high for what you get. You definitely pay for the influencer hype.

  • I used to wear glossier’s products regularly and found them to be sort of hit or miss, but their customer service was always great so I looked past it. Since it came out that there is a culture of anti-Blackness at the company I have stopped purchasing their products and have easily been able to find substitutes.

  • Meh. More for teenagers, not for 30something skin. But my sister (20s) loves their perfume!

    Feedback

Make more products for not just gen z audience.

  • I ordered lots in lockdown - the hand cream was too perfumed for my liking. The cheek tint barely stayed on. Not really sure what the hype was all about

Glossier sells a no make up look, but end of the day when I buy a make up product, I do expect it to do something

  • I have been a Glossier fan from day one. I think I've tried 95% of the products (I am READY to try the After Baume - next order!), and have given Glossier gifts to a ton of friends over the years. But I'm not going to say that every product is a re-buy! The things I love the most and re-buy whenever I run out: - Milky Oil Makeup Remover: I literally have never found anything as effective and non-greasy as this. My friends request this when they sleep over. - All of the Serums: I've bought dupes of these that are tacky or ineffective. These feel so high-end and I see the results the following day every time. - Ultralip: THIS IS MAGIC. I literally want every color. When I go to a party and pull this out, three of my friends pull out their favorite shades. It's hydrating and feels like chapstick but looks gorgeous in every shade.

    Feedback

I totally understand that my skin type is different because some people are O B S E S S E D with these, but my least faves are: - Milky Oil Cleanser: This has never worked for me. It feels oily and doesn't clean my face at all. One of the first things I tried and bummed me out. - Stretch Concealer: This lacks coverage! It makes any imperfections look highlighted, not concealed, if it covers at all. - Any of the masks: Somehow all of the masks break me out. Every time! Like I said, I understand my skin type is different (more combination leaning dry and super sensitive to fragrance), so take these with a grain of salt!

  • Glossier does the no makeup look really well. They have a lot of stand out products, I really like boy brow and cloud paint. They're overall packaging and design is really nice too coming from a graphic design standpoint. I like the foundation on days where I just have a little redness and really good skin day, but it barely does anything, so it won't be the best for those who want coverage.

    Feedback

They could expand on the makeup range, like offering other foundations that are like bb creams where it helps with skin but also offers more coverage that's natural so more people could enjoy those products.

  • Love all my Glossier items — boybrow, mascara, balm dot com, and gloss all in regular rotation. Just so sad they got rid of Bubble Wrap (the item, not the packaging)!

    Feedback

    bring back bubble wrap :)

  • Some products aren’t the best quality but depends on what you get! I love the boy brow. Cool packaging and Branding

  • I’ve tried a handful of things from Glossier and I like them all. The face wash and moisturizer is alright. It didn’t breakout my sensitive skin, but it didn’t seem to do much otherwise. I’ve been using the stretch concealer and tinted moisturizer and have been into it. Both provide very minimal coverage, so it's great if you’re going for more of a natural look.
