The products were fun to personalize and smell amazing. Overall, though, I don't feel any difference in my hair so I'd say the product is similar to any off-the-shelf shampoo.

I used their customized shampoo and conditioner for about a year. They were good quality but in my opinion aren’t any better than normal shampoos and conditioners

I really like Function of Beauty hair products. I am an older woman with thick, dry and curly hair that tends toward frizz. I am constantly searching for the perfect product to tame my unruly hair. I love that I can customize my products to fit my personal needs which has been impossible in the past. Just finding products for my type of curly hair has been a challenge since I as a teenager. I need a lot of moisture and a heavy product to weigh down and calm down my wild curls. This can be a tough find as most women are not looking to weigh down the volume and curl of their hair. It’s this product. I can add as much moisture as I want and I love this flexibility.

I'm not sure if it was the options I chose, but my hair got very stringy and I shed really bad after using for a month.

I love that they help you pick a formula that is just for you and you get to customize the container. This product works too! I mean, my hair has been thanking me since I switched to this product. My lose waves are much curlier and last all day too.

Got a couple of shampoos and conditioners 3 years ago and ran out last year. Still have the serum. I genuinely miss it and am going back as soon as I finish my current shampoo/conditioner. I have coily/curly hair (type 4) and while using FOB I had bounce, smoothness and shine! I am fairly active but was able to beat frizz despite sweatiness, and enjoyed the faint but lovely scent it left on my hair. I might have gotten lucky with my formula as I see lots of people didn't have this experience but I'd definitely recommend trying different ingredients if you weren't happy the first time. The price can be prohibitive but it really lasts you. Get pumps for the bottles to save product.

I've used their curl/wavy mouse and it's pretty solid. I also bought some wave/curl shots to put into my shampoo and conditioner. I like that it is now sold in Target and I don't have to create a profile on a website.

I purchased because of the nice branding and packaging, and because I loved the idea of being able to fully customize the product to meet my hair goals. But I was pretty underwhelmed by the results. For reference, I purchased the wavy shampoo with strengthening boost (from Target, not direct from FOB). I used the bottle to completion and didn't notice any improvement in hair breakage/falling out.

Fun to customize at least.

I've been using Function of Beauty for almost 4 years now and it is my go-to shampoo and conditioner. I feel like my hair feels its healthiest and most consistent with the products and I appreciate being able to switch out the fragrance, color, name, etc with each order - it helps make my loyalty to the brand and product less boring and brings more excitement with each delivery (versus a feeling of monotony or repetition)!

I tried function of beauty and it somewhat worked for my hair. I just didn't like the price; I feel like you can get something similar at the drugstore for less.

I have used Function of Beauty consistently for a few years, and love the product. It is customized (up to five "hair goals") and you can switch up the formula, color, and scent before each order if you'd like to. I find that I use less product than I would with typical drugstore brands, and the 16oz bottles usually last me 2-3 months (I wash my hair frequently). My favorite scents are peach and pear, and the shampoo and conditioner make my hair look and feel healthy after use.

I purchased the subscription for the conditioner and shampoo and enjoyed the product. It smelled really good and I did notice a subtle difference in my hair after 3 washes. I did use more conditioner than shampoo which was annoying, but that was just a personal experience. It was fun to try out but to me not really worth it.

This brand is a really cute concept, however most people I know that have bought function of beauty have either returned to their previous regimen or just discarded their bottles.

The products and the scent options were really nice. Tbh, I stopped using it just because the overall branding doesn't fit with my other products. But, if you like look & feel, it's definitely worth trying.

i stopped using after a while bc i didn't really think it did anything outstanding for my hair tho it was "personalized"

I really enjoyed having my name on the packaging - it made me feel special.
