Reviews mention

  • Eco-conscious aluminum packaging design
  • Herbaceous, refreshing product scent
  • Travel-friendly compact containers
  • Concentrated formulas use minimal product
  • Tricky emulsification learning curve
  • Inconsistent lather and residue
  • Occasional dryness or irritation
  • Fiddly lids and caps ergonomics

Everist earns mixed reviews: its concentrated shampoo, conditioner, and body wash impress with fresh herbal scents, travel-ready tins/tubes, and results that leave many hair types soft, shiny, and clean, but others report greasy residue, dryness, scalp irritation, and a learning curve to find the right water-to-product ratio. Reviews praise eco-conscious aluminum packaging, minimal waste, and long-lasting formulas, yet note hard-to-open lids, tricky caps, inconsistent lather, and some products underperforming on thick, curly, or color-treated hair.

  • Did not like the product unfortunately. Loved the design but not convenient when you have wet hand to deal with a small cap. I did not like the smell as well that was too chemical. However the result on my hair was ok.

  • Takes a little bit of getting used to in terms of getting the right amount of product out of the tube (trick is to twist until some product comes out then undo the twist so you don't get too much). Lathers very well if you rub the product in your hands first for about 20-30 sec before massaging into your hair. Scent is neither too "floral" nor too "masculine." Will be repurchasing.

Larger tubes, labeling (shampoo vs conditioner) needs to be in a much bigger font. TSA approved travel size option would be great.

  • I love the concept of the shampoo bars, but they ended up being a little too drying for my hair.

  • I tried this offer through Thingtesting and otherwise would definitely not have paid $14 for the travel sized shampoo and conditioner concentrate. They are VERY small. I think the mini tins are cute, but it was hard for me to grip and open – especially in the shower, with long nails. I have very thick, straight hair and wash it about once or twice a week. I only used this once, so I didn't really see a difference compared to the regular products I use. Theoretically, the mini travel duo is an amazing way to save space when you're traveling, but it's not worth the learning curve. I'm usually all for innovation, but I do think this product is too disconnected from the existing expectations and behaviors of the customer.

  • Loved this product, having a liquid concentrate is eco friendly and I like it better than shampoo bars. Cool packaging, the metal product pusher is a nice touch as well.

  • I have dry curly hair and I was shocked at how smooth and silky their conditioner made my hair feel! Even after 3 days my hair was still soft and I didn’t need to add any additional hair oils. Just due to the cost of the product I prefer to use it more as a deep conditioner so it lasts a bit longer. Overall very nice and it’s just a bit expensive.

  • I tested the conditioner via a Thingdrop and ended up liking it a lot. I felt like it moisturized my hair just as well as another expensive conditioner but I had to use quite a bit less. I just purchased the shampoo and re-upped my conditioner so am excited to give that a try!

  • I have been interested in trying Everist for a while now but was always deterred by the price. Using the weekly Thingdrop, I finally gave it a go. I really enjoy the smell and texture of this product. I love that the packaging is recyclable and effectively low-waste. I think my biggest challenge (and likely why I wouldn't repurchase) is that I felt like I needed a lot of product to condition my hair. The package recommends you squeeze out an inch of product, but I probably used triple that amount. It could be my hair type (thick, long, wavy, and somewhat dry) or user error, but I likely won't repurchase. For the price, I get more use out of shampoo and conditioner bars :)

  • Amazing idea but the products did not work for my hair.

  • So far I am loving using the deep conditioner as a mask! It smells minty and I think it is a good size for the price. It has left my hair super soft when I've used it. However, I haven't noticed any huge differences between this mask and other masks I've used.

  • As someone with frizzy, thick, and wavy hair, I love this mask. Truly AMAZED!! From day 1 of using the red capped conditioner, my hair feels so much softer. My 2 biggest gripes with hair masks are my waves falling flat on day 2 hair, and when using the mask actually makes my hair worse in the long run. With the Everist mask, my hair is still bouncy (even on day 3!) and it actually nourishes my dry hair.

  • The scent is very mild, but lovely. A hint of citrus and foliage. I typically use this as a deep conditioner for my ends, and it does the job. I haven't noticed anything unusually bad or unusually wonderful about this product, but I like the ethos and would support primarily for that.

  • I got this at the perfect time! It came in the mail right before I went on vacation so I just threw it in my bag. The conditioner where I was staying was terrible so I tried this product and loved it. I let on my friends on the trip use it too and they all had great things to say. I will definitely be re-purchasing.

  • I love everything about the mission of this brand as I have become much more aware of our horrible plastic problem and microbes in our water and they are using aluminum packaging and biodegradable, clean ingredients. As a person with fine hair (but I have a lot of it), "normal" shampoos would weigh my hair down and this shampoo leaves it light as can be! I tried the Body Wash and it leaves my skin silky smooth. And I love that the sponge is compostable.

I saturate my hair with the conditioner to get full effect.

  • I got the shampoo and conditioner travel tins, the full size body wash tin, and their konjac body sponge. I am generally enjoying them so far! The shampoo can be a little difficult because you have to only take a tiny bit at a time on your finger, lather it with water in your hands, and repeat a few times. If you follow the instructions and take a big chunk of product all at once, you wont have enough lather. The conditioner is easy and the body wash is really effective, like a little goes a LONG way, especially with the amazing konjac sponge.

  • I love how easy this is to pack, the small sizes are great. I also love how glossy my hair looks after using it and my hair feels so well conditioned.

  • I like the concept, but I still ended up using a normal amount of product because it didn't emulsify that easily and I felt like it clumped in certain places in my hair. As a conditioner though, it did a great job.

  • Loved the packaging and how the key made it hard to waste any product! This definitely added a good amount of moisture to my hair and I would use again. Compared to other hair masks I didn’t think this did a substantially better job, but definitely enjoyed it and loved the smell!

  • I never really love hotel body wash and the little bottles are so wasteful, but I also don’t like to carry liquids in my suitcase bc of the risk of them opening unexpectedly (yes, saying this from experience) so this is where Everist really saves the day for me. I travel for work and this Body Wash Concentrate is the newest addition to my travel must haves. The packaging is compact, and I barely need more than a dime’s worth for the entire wash. I also love that the aloe vera and essential oils nourish my skin and the ingredients are vegan and cruelty free. The Konjac sponge is surprisingly soft and great for sudsing, I was surprised at just how much suds I could get from such a small amount of product. I'm always hunting for products that help me reduce my carbon footprint, and Everist delivers.

The only thing that would make it better is if it were more widely available because I truly think it has the potential to change the way we purchase body products.
