Reviews mention

  • High-performing dupe formulations
  • Cruelty-free vegan positioning
  • Pigmented color cosmetics
  • Exceptional makeup brushes
  • Inconsistent formula performance
  • Sticky-feel face primers
  • Creasing under-eye concealer
  • Messy, leaky product packaging

E.l.f earns strong reviews for delivering high-performing, cruelty-free dupes—standouts include Power Grip Primer, Camo Concealer, Putty Blush/Bronzer, Halo Glow Liquid Filter, and excellent brushes—proving the brand is good and often comparable to prestige. Reviews also flag inconsistencies: hit‑or‑miss formulas, sticky primers for some, creasing concealer without setting, messy or leaky packaging, short product quantity, and irritation or breakouts on sensitive skin.

  • I’m not a make up person by any means. I have a few brands I am loyal to because those worked when my friends years ago tried makeup on me. Elf was a brand they recommended and I still 10 years later buy and use their products. I like that they aren’t expensive but still work.

  • Great makeup for the price!! Would definitely recommend this over expensive makeup any day !

  • I am an elf Stan! They make amazing products that are the same quality as luxury brands!

  • I love elf for an affordable drugstore brand. Many of their products are great quality for the price point. I love their brushes, roller lash dupe mascara, liquid eyeliner, and cream shadows.

  • Overall I love this brand make up. It is high-quality and affordable.

  • Really great value. I think Elf is great for beginner makeup and certain select products are also great for full glam or every day routine. I used in a lot in middle and high school. Once I could afford better quality I moved on but I use the highlighter pen in my daily routine. Great price point.

  • I absolutely love this affordable brand. Especially their primers!

  • Elf's matte putty powder has saved me multiple times. It definitely helps with better covering of imperfections, mainly pores. It is one of few products that really had that mattifying effect on my face. After applying it, the face also feels a bit fresher, so it's not as heavy as some other products may be. It's price is also in very affordable range. Why am I not giving it 5*? I noticed that after using this primer, I sometimes got red "spots" on cheeks in the evening. Have to say it was not happening all the time but certainly only after the day of using it.

  • Great price point with a wide variety of shades/products and skincare is offered as well

  • Elf has been a staple in my makeup routine since I was in high school. They have such a wide variety of cosmetics, and their dupes of luxury brand products have been great!

  • E.L.F is my favorite affordable drugstore make up brand. Every single one of their products are so high quality. My favorites are the Power Grip Primer, Halo Glow Liquid Filter, and Halo Glow Contour wand. I use e.l.f's Hydro-gel Moisturizer and Daily Cleanser every day and loveeee them! The newest e.l.f product I'm excited to get my hands on is the Glow Reviver Lip Oils, can't wait to try!

  • Some products are hit or miss but ELF has great dupes for expensive products like Charlotte Tilbury and they work better than the originals.

  • The other day I had a friend ask me why I had so many ELF products since they were so cheap, and they were still in the mindset that inexpensive makeup meant bad makeup, which is DEF not the case anymore, not only does elf have very fair prices but they truly make some of my favorite products, that work beautifully. If you havent been trying them yet since you are still in that mindset you need to try them out!

  • i have the highlighter palette and it is super pigmented, bonus points because it has a mirror inside. But i recently bought an eyelash curler and it doesn’t work at all. Very affordable

  • E.l.f cosmetics, particularly their setting spray, pressed and loose powder foundation, and face primer have all been products that I have used and purchased on multiple occasions-from multiple retailers. While these particular products are outstandingly affordable and widely available, I will admit that I am not as impressed with their ability to last throughout the day. At first, the products seem to work great and as intended. But as a few hours go by, I usually feel the need to reapply or use additional products to keep the same affect. I will say, however, that their collection of makeup brushes and tools are a fantastic deal-especially the slightly more expensive black brushes (and, in my opinion, longer lasting and made with better materials). They are still very affordable compared to the competition, and there is virtually no difference in the quality from higher end brands. I would highly recommend all of their makeup brushes.

  • A great go to blush, and comes in a decent number of shades

  • I absolutely adore E.L.F cosmetics! Especially their eyeliners i would highly recommend if you’re looking for a long lasting, high coverage, smooth application eyeliner. Another E.L.F essential would have to be their concealers, my go to is a full coverage and they have mastered it.

  • oen of my favoutire low cost beauty brand. it has a large range of products and literally they're so ''cheap'' but the quality makes me say: WOW! everyone should try elf cosmetics

  • Probably my favorite cosmetics company. I have so many products that I can’t complain about.

  • ELF is a house staple in my home. By far my favorite product is the putty primer. The eye pencils come in a clutch and while not as creamy as other products they are well worth the price. The only thing I have tried so far of theirs that I am not a fan of is the new concealer they released. It separates with all my products and pills quickly.
