E.l.f earns strong reviews for delivering high-performing, cruelty-free dupes—standouts include Power Grip Primer, Camo Concealer, Putty Blush/Bronzer, Halo Glow Liquid Filter, and excellent brushes—proving the brand is good and often comparable to prestige. Reviews also flag inconsistencies: hit‑or‑miss formulas, sticky primers for some, creasing concealer without setting, messy or leaky packaging, short product quantity, and irritation or breakouts on sensitive skin.
I got the dupe of the space cowboy from urban decay. For $7 it is a fantastic eyeshadow. I later got space cowboy, and whilst they are similar, they are not identical. I love them both for different reasons. I also got the eyebrow soap which i am not a fan of.
This formula is a standout for anyone who wants high-impact coverage without that heavy, traditional "makeup" feel. Here is a breakdown of how it performs on the skin. The "Satin" in the name is incredibly accurate. It sits perfectly in that sweet spot between a flat matte and a greasy dewy finish. It has a creamy, lightweight consistency that feels more like a high-end serum than a heavy-duty concealer.
Note on Glow: Since this is a true satin, not a matte, I did notice a slight shine after application. However, it was easily fixed with a light dusting of setting powder to lock everything in and control the luminosity exactly where I wanted it.
Coverage & Wear
• Pigmentation: It offers medium-to-full buildable coverage. It’s excellent at neutralizing redness and evening out skin texture without needing a ton of product.
• Feel: It feels weightless. You don't get that "tight" sensation throughout the day, which is a huge win for maintaining a fresh look.
This is my go-to brand for low cost, reliable and on-trend make-up products (including some decent dupes). Okay, the formulas don't feel luxe and the packaging breaks easily but when I'm on a budget these things aren't a major issue. With the cost of living biting hard, I want things that do their job, with a good selection of shades, without busting the bank, and e.l.f. delivers. I'm currently using the Camo foundation powder as a cover-up, with success, and liked the brand's primer too. It's a great brand for when you want to dabble in trends without shelling out loads.
As a blush girly, I’ve tried countless blushes, but I really started trying to stay away from powders and trying to use more cream formulations so this was a no-brainer to try. It is just the most beautiful shiny formula. It’s thin it gently goes over your skin and it is like a highlight and blush in one my only issue with this product is the cushion tip. It gets really oversaturated with product clumpy, and it kind of feels weird and almost unhygienic after a while so I would love to buy this formula in a different type of container or if they came out with this in a stick formulation would be even better, but if you’re not opposed to the cushion tip, it’s a great product.
