  • Luxurious packaging experience
  • Lightweight, effective formulas
  • Best-in-class microfiber towel
  • Addictive signature scent
  • Occasionally overpowering fragrance
  • Messy dry-shampoo packaging
  • Hard-to-clean boar brush
  • Inconsistent results on oily hair

Crown Affair earns largely positive reviews as a luxe, effective haircare brand with standout tools and treatments—especially The Towel, The Oil, the Leave-In Conditioner, Dry Shampoo powder, and boar-bristle brushes—while criticisms focus on strong fragrance for some, inconsistent results with certain formulas (e.g., mousse, dry shampoo for oily hair), and high prices. Reviews cite elevated packaging, thoughtful design, and long-lasting products, but note occasional issues like messy dry-shampoo packaging, brush cleaning, scent intensity, and a few durability concerns.

  • Tried their dry shampoo, which comes in a container as a loose powder with a brush instead of the traditional spray dry shampoo. It does work well as a dry shampoo, however, the brush is meant to be stored in the container with the product, but there is no lock to keep the product in. So every time you go to use it, the brush is covered and it is quite messy. Forget traveling with it! I would say if they changed the packaging it would be a great product.

Please redesign the packaging for the dry shampoo.

  • The combination of boar and nylon bristles really gets in there to detangle and to massage my scalp after washing my hair, which feels amazing. When my hair dries, my texture is defined and smooth, and my hair is shinier than ever.

total must-have for anyone and for all hair types!

  • Their hair towel is by far the best one I've ever tried, and is completely worth the cost. I've also really liked the hair oil and leave-in conditioner. The amount of product lasts me a long time (thick, curly, medium length hair) since a little product goes a long way, and oil and leave-in smell amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of the dry shampoo, and didn't feel like it worked for me. The comb no. 2 (with a handle) feels flimsy and isn't worth the price. I like the comb no. 1 though, and it's quite sturdy. The clips are nice but absurdly overpriced for what they are. Overall, I like Crown Affair. The quality of the towel, hair oil, and leave-in conditioner is amazing. Some of the other products are just okay, but I was able to return those easily due to their nice return policy.

  • Honest to God will never use another shampoo and conditioner in my life. Crown Affair has simply changed the biology of my hair if thats even a thing. I've worked in hair salons before for 3 years, tried all the things - oribe, kerastase, amika, you name it. I've never had a single bad reaction to Crown Affair, which is super common for me with other hair products probably due to the added perfumes and stuff. My hair has also never grown at this rate in my life and I feel like the health of my scalp all the way to my fragile little bleached ends have transformed from this stuff. Just, try it. It's so good.

  • my hair absolutely LOVES this shampoo and conditioner – especially a double shampoo as instructed on the bottle. it helps my waves clump better and doesn’t strip my highlights, what more can you ask for?

  • These products have truly transformed my hair. My hair before Crown Affair: so puffy and dry, needed chemical smoothing treatments just to keep it manageable. My hair after Crown Affair: so long, silky-soft, smooth. Even better, all the products are so luxurious it really makes me love taking care of my hair. And THE SCENT is truly to die for. And, The Towel and The Dry Shampoo are truly innovative.

    Works for Crown Affair
  • I love that Crown Affair is a female founded beauty company! I have been using the crown affair brush for almost two years and absolutely love it - it is such a quality brush at a great price point!

  • I have the tortoise comb and love it! It looks great and works really well.

The first comb I had actually broke pretty quickly, but they shipped me a new one which has done well.

  • It's clear that a lot of thought has been put into every touchpoint. The products are high quality and the packaging feels luxe. A bottle of the oil lasted me a full year, so while it may seem expensive upfront, it lasts a long time.

    Nothing!

  • I use this towel every single time I wash my hair and I can confidently say that this cuts my drying time down significantly. I have super thick, coarse hair that absorbs water like a sponge and I usually have to allot several hours for my hair to dry to a point where I can even blow dry it. This towel is long enough to capture all my hair (down to bra length) and cuts the drying time in half. I love the elastic in the back that keeps it in place.

  • DRY SHAMPOO + TOWEL!!! 10/10!!! - Boar Brush is ok. I have fine straight asian hair that is colored and also permed for context. 1. The dry shampoo is the BEST for fine hair. You really only need to apply a TINY bit and then brush it out with the applicator. Less is more here. If you do too much you'll feel and see the build up but that's because YOU didn't apply correctly (sorry). Be gentle and sparing with it and I part my hair differently so I can get the layers. Will only ever use this dry shampoo for my entire life. 2. The hair towel is also so amazing! It really cut down on frizz and also made my hair drier. They should have some tutorial on how to put it on (I spent like 1hr trying to figure out why the strap was there...) I watched some videos on TikTok. So once I figured that out it was great and love that it stays in place while I get ready. 3. I also bought the boar bristle brush. Was this worth it? Ehhh I found it made my hair very static-y even though it did smooth my hair. But I don't use this that often. Usually just round brush (with bristles) blow dry with correct technique and it can come out silky and smooth too. So depends on your routine. I wish they had a baby size for travel - that might be more useful for those touch ups.

  • I use their brush daily. My favorite piece is the hair towel and even travel with it. I’ve gifted it 4 times now as well. I have thick hair that goes past my shoulders and this is perfect. The fabric is thin and somehow wicks away the water (I wrap my hair dripping wet). The towel stays very well given the ability to twist tightly, the tucking elastic band, and the fabric sticks to itself.

  • The hair oil is my new go to! I recently tried a new hair oil and severely missed the Crown Affair one.

  • Crown Affair is one of the best brands I've come across. The girls that get it, get it. The products might seem a bit overpriced, but are worth every penny! I started off buying the hairbrush... and from there I have the whole collection and use it religiously.

  • I have a super dry scalp wish very thick, course and frizzy hair and I love this shampoo and conditioner. It tames my frizz and somehow makes my hair feel more hydrated but also lighter in a really great way.

in terms of packaging I always prefer a pump for shampoo and conditioner and wish the bottles were bigger!

  • Such a beautiful brand. I love each of the products!! The scent is amazing and the clean formulas still feel luxurious. I'm slowly perfecting my air dry using the towel, shampoo and conditioner, and the oil!

    Invested in Crown Affair
  • I loved the crown affair towel so much that I purchased one for all of my friends. It’s made from micro fiber waffle material that is very absorbent. It definitely cuts drying time in half.
